  6. The following page has many parallels to the book of much like F.A.R.M.S.
  7. and others find in Mexico and the Yucatan.  I provide it here and allow
  8. you to ponder on the parallels you may or may not see.  I post the page
  9. with permission of Rick Hurd.  I include links to his page and his e-mail
  10. address if you wish to learn more from a more informed source on this
  11. subject.

  20. Unlike the plates the Book of Mormon were translated from where only a few
  21. had the chance to view them, thousands seen the Voree Plates. I recently
  22. had a man who understands the Hebrew language examine the facsimile of the
  23. plates and I am including his translation with this letter.

  27. First of all I note that the opening portion of the ... translation is a
  28. complex form of Hebrew poetry called CHIASMUS (there are also within this
  29. Chiasmus several parallelisms).  This Chiastic structure is four levels
  30. deep:
  31.  
  32. A.  My people ARE NO MORE.
  33.  
  34.      B. THE MIGHTY ARE FALLEN,
  35.      and the young slain in battle.
  36.  
  37.           C.  Their BONES bleached on the plain
  38.           BY NOONDAY SHADOW
  39.  
  40.                D.  The houses are leveled to the dust,
  41.                and IN THE MOAT are the walls.
  42.                They shall be inhabited.
  43.  
  44.                D.  I have IN THE BURIAL
  45.                served them,
  46.  
  47.           C.  and their BONES IN THE DEATH-SHADE,
  48.           towards the sun's rising, are covered.
  49.  
  50.      B.  They sleep with THE MIGHTY dead,
  51.      and they rest with their fathers.

  57. This is a very good example of Chiasmus, as good as any I have seen.
  58.  
  59. Also, regarding the "signature" which in yours reads "Rajah Manchou of
  60. Vorito" the copy I have had for some time printed by THE TRUE CHURCH OF
  61. JESUS CHRIST RESTORED has "Rajah Manchore of Vorito." This phase seems
  62. also to be Hebrew:

  64. Rajah - A perfect Hebrew name "Yah[weh] sees" or "Yah[weh] is seer" or "Ra
  65. is Yah[weh]"
  66.  
  67. Manchore - Man (Hebrew prefix meaning "from") Chore - To be white, a
  68. nobleman (Strong's 2353, 2357, 2361, 2715)
  69.  
  70. Vorito - Although in Aramaic V'ORITA means "and the Torah" I favor BRIT
  71. with the terminal -A found often in Aramaic.   Initial BET in Hebrew is
  72. always hard B but in the other parts of a word is usually pronounced "V"
  73. so that a shift from "B" to "V" is likely and an initial "V" could only
  74. indicate a BET.  This would make this word "covenant"
  75.  
  76. The above would mean that "Rajah Manchore of Vorito" means:

  78. Rayah from the whitemen/noblemen of the Covenant.

  87. Description of one side of one of the Voree Plates.
  88.  
  89. 1st. An eye. The symbol of God, who is all-seeing: consequently it is
  90. called THE ALL-SEEING EYE, and has been used as symbolical of the DEITY in
  91. all countries, and in all ages of the world.
  92.  
  93. 2nd. The figure of a man down to the waist having a crown resembling a
  94. cap, and composed of radiating lines, on his head; and a scepter in his
  95. hand. These are symbols of authority, and shew him a ruler. As he has the
  96. sun, moon and stars (all the natural lights), below him, and only the
  97. ALL-SEEING EYE above him, he is prophet, seer, revelator, translator, and
  98. First President of the church-governing not by natural light, or mere
  99. human wisdom, but by Revelation or the word of God and derives his
  100. authority solely from God, and not in any sense from the actions of men.

  102. 3d. The sun on the right and the moon on the left. These represent the two
  103. Vice PRESIDENTS, or counsellors in the First Presidency; the two largest
  104. natural lights being used as symbols, because they are to assist the First
  105. President in wisdom, or natural light merely, and not by revelation.

  107. 4th. A cross pillar above and resting upon the center large star, and
  108. under the human figure, two pillars above and resting upon the two upper
  109. large stars, and below and between the sun and the moon. These represent
  110. COADJUTORS, assistants or helps of whom there have been several since the
  111. beginning of the church, appointed by revelation.

  113. 5th. Twelve stars, six around the sun and six around the moon. These
  114. represent the High Council of the Church, The division into classes of six
  115. each agrees with established usages in the church, one-half to stand up
  116. for the accuser, and the other for the accused. This is not the high
  117. council of the stake.
  118.  
  119. 6th. Twelve large stars. Ten of these in two rows at the bottom of the
  120. plate, and the other two over them, nearly between the sun and moon. They
  121. represent the TWELVE APOSTLES. These stars are larger than those which
  122. represent the High Council of the church, because the apostles have a more
  123. important ministry but are placed below them because they are subject to
  124. their discipline, and below the symbols of the First Presidency because
  125. they are subject to its directions.

  127. 7th. Seventy small stars immediately within the points of the twelve large
  128. ones, being six to each except the center one which has only four. They
  129. represent the SEVENTIES, who are subject to the direction of the Twelve
  130. Apostles.
  131.  
  132. 8th. A straight line dropping down before the scepter. "Therefore thus
  133. saith the Lord God, behold I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried
  134. stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall
  135. not make haste, Judgment also will I lay to the line and righteousness to
  136. the plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the
  137. waters shall overflow the hiding place."

  139. "Thus he showed me; and behold the Lord stood upon a wall made by a
  140. plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand. And the Lord said unto me, Amos,
  141. what seest thou? And I said, a plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold I
  142. will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again
  143. pass by them any more."

  145. These symbols were all prophetic of the order that will exist in the
  146. fullness of times. Thus God in his goodness to those who lived in days
  147. past has shown them not only the rest which he had in reservation for
  148. them, but the perfectness of the means by which he will accomplish it.
  149. Probably now we understand it in part, but in times to come we shall "know
  150. as we are known."

  152. BOOK OF THE LAW OF THE LORD Arguably the most important book ever written
  153. in the English language.
