Not wishing to get too far into this, I'd like to recommend Roger Williams's Latin album, 'Amor', which has some really great stuff on it. Slightly quiet, yes, but with a nice tight, slightly swinging bossa feel. His 'summer samba' is particularly excellent.
My appreciation of this song has really grown. The first version I heard was by Combustible Edison, strangely. And although I'm a big Wanderley fan, I'm not so crazy about Walter's version.
But the Marcos Valle version on 'samba 68', arranged by Eumir Deodato, is simply fabulous...
