Subject: (dr350) GPS's

I'd like one to be able to plot waypoints on a computerized map, so I can
tell where on earth I've been (literally).  Any suggestions on software or
mapping programs that can do this?  This would need to be maps of the
backcountry such as trails and dirt roads.  Many of the paper maps I use
don't show trails that I know exist because I've ridden them.  A good
computerized map would allow me to see where these trails exist after I
download the route from the GPS to the PC after I've ridden a given route
and saved the route in the GPS.

I've read that the Garmin GPS III+ is pretty much the way to go.  Any
comments would be greatly appreciated.

Dont bother!  I had a real hassel with them.....a 6 week delay in delivering
their "Dual Sport Gel" seat for the DR.  In the interim, I found that Suzuki
sells the same seat for $75....local dealer got it for me in a week.
Travelcade was going to charge me $157 for just the assembled foam/gel/skin
cover, which I would then have had to mount to my stock base pan.  The Suzi
seat comes complete w/ basepan...you just have to trasfer the little metal
brackets & a few rubber pads.

a new DR 400 ins liquid cooled and in two version: one racing ad one dual

just a reminder that the cut-off date for the Amsterdam, GA dual sport ride
is coming up on the 10th. GET YOUR ENTRIES IN ASAP!

Amsterdam is located 15 minutes south of Bainbridge GA, or 45 minutes north
of Tallahassee FL.

This is a challenging to difficult ride through a 14,000 acre pine planted
tobacco plantaion in southern Georgia. Proceeds benefit "Project Learning
Tree" a mobile interactive learnibg center that travels to schools teaching
teachers and students about healthy forestry practices. It the only program
going directly where only greenies have treaded before!
