Subject: Re: (dr350) Need DR350 Parts
Ed;
The only suggestion I can think of would be to stay with the salvage yards. A
new part from the dealer will no doubt be very painful to the wallet.
Something you may want to consider is repairing the broken part. There is a
substance called JB Weld (available a most hardware stores) and it will glue
and repair most metal castings. I used this stuff when I ham handedly tried
to remove the valve cover assembly on my
' 93 DR (dirt only) without removing all the bolts (I missed the one located
under the exhaust valve adjusting cover). I pried on the valve cover and it
cracked; they don't sell just the valve cover assembly, you must buy a whole
new cylinder head becasue the cam bearings are cut with both halves bolted
together to make a matched set.
I'm sure you've tried, but if you fire up your favorite search engine and put
in "motorcycle salvage" yu'll get a pretty good slection of sources to
persue. Wish I could help more...I think because of the longevity of this
bike, there's very little in the way of salvage out there...

Jesse,
Thanks for the quick response. How do I go about ordering the spring
from you?
Do you also sell the VORTEX airbox? If so, cost, and how do I order?

Jesse,
Thanks again for snding me to your web site. The VORTEX AIRBOX looks
great. But, first things first. I need to get my suspension ready to
support more power. So, I have a Kouba Link in my hands and now need a
new shock spring. I looked on the RACE-TECH site and although very
informative they did not tell me how to order a spring. From their site
I have found that I want a 7.6kg/mm EIBACH spring (p/n:SESP 893076)
which has the dimensions 55x52x283 and will fit my 1990 DR350. I got
your message saying that you could get one for me. That's great! How
do you want to work this. Should I send a check? $85.00 + shipping
(how much for shipping)?
Let me know, I am ready to start making this bike better.
Thanks,
Dave
