Sean,
We build 2 lengths of the Kouba Links for the DRZ400. One length was
built
mainly with lowering the rear as much as possible without the tire
rubbing a hole in the fender, and are reccomended for riders that are
primarily
interested in lowering the bike and not as interested in trying to
inhance the
performance of the suspension. They help the suspension and increase the
travel but in most cases will require a heavier spring if riden very
hard. They will lower the rear 1.75 inches, but for best results,
require the front to be lowered at least an inch. The other length will
increase the usable travel slightly, minimize the midstroke harshness,
and in most cases, riders under 220lbs do not
require a heavier spring, unless motorcross is the plan. They will also
match the stock rear spring rate to riders in the 180-220lb range, as
stock,
the spring appears to be too heavy for riders under 220 lbs when setting
the sag at Suzuki's reccomended 3.75 inches with the stock links. They
can also be used to lower the rear approx. 3/4's of an inch using the
stock sag, but we reccomend setting the sag at 3 inches for as good as
it gets, unless lowering the rear is a concern. We have not spent a lot
of time testing the lowering links, but have considerable time testing
the performance links on both the DRZ400 and the DRZ400E. We have not
done much testing on the "S" model, other than the linkage etc. is the
same with the exception of the shock shaft is shorter and the shock lost
it's external rebound adjuster.
The rear leverage ratios on all the DRZ models are very similar to the
DR350, and Suzuki gave us considerably better parts and angles to work
with on the DRZ, so that gave us a lot of prior knowledge on what to
look for and how much change was required. We charge $70.00 for either
length of the Kouba Links for the DRZ400, and $75.00 for the ones that
fit the DR350, including Priority Mail shipping to anywhere in the US.
Hope we answered your questions, and thanks for the inquiry. Norm

Subject: (dr) swingarm change to dr350?
Hi Thanks Jesse and Mike
I just looked at the picture of a '90 RM250, it's swingarm didn't look very
much different to me than the DR350 swingarm.
So, i thought to ask, has anybody tried to fit Rm swingarm to the 350 or are
the measurements too different?
Rm swingarm benefits would be : No flexibility, longer- bike would be
more stable and Dr wouldn't look anymore so short.
That Scotts swingarm is way too expensive, and i don't know is it
any longer than the original. A used Rm swingarm would be cheaper to buy.
( I know that one option is to weld and brace original swingarm)
I hope that somebody else has also thought this project.
Thanks
Mikko
