Hello Everyone,
I'm your basic newbie. I am very interested in this list and CANSLIM. The
post made by db referring to QTRN. I too am interested in this one. I would
like to ask about the sector you are referring to. I had the impression that
the group med/dent was 80th a month ago and is 9th now. Also the larger
group is third (I think). Is this not good? I had the impression that this
was a really good sector. If I am wrong please tell me and let me know why.
Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid I don't understand the question. What "larger group"?
Which sector is "this sector"? Which "med/dent" group are you
referring to?

Hi Deepak,
Interesting day. What it seemed like to me was more of a dry-up in
buying power than significant selling. I think the buying exhausted
itself around 2:00 and stocks fell of their on weight. We have had an
extended rally and this is a good place to go sideways/down for a few
days.(however, MSFT's and IBM's earnings might put us in rally mode
again tomorrow) Couple that with the market being in a confluent
resistance area today is probably a good day to start a rest and test
period. Overall, I saw today as constructive with the breadth remaining
the best in a long time and the Russell still outperforming. If you look
at the Up/down volume on the NYSE it was 2-to-1 positive and about even
on the NASDAQ. If the breadth can hold up or even improve during the
consolidation period and bearish sentiment rises again I will be really
excited!

Concur at first blush. Still need to look at the details.
My indicators have reached the sell zone.
(Which doesn't mean crash, bam, boom. Just restricting new buys and look
out for profit takers.)

No idea, don't follow it nor will I. As I have mentioned in the past,
I am adverse to several groups, financials and medical related being
among them. Simply had noted it hitting a new high and was medical
related, with good CS elements. Not on my watch list due my personal
bias.

Welcome Wayne,
Discipline is difficult. It is hard not to be affected by the hype that
surrounds the Markets. It is the nature of smart money to fool the 'slow'
money, so be careful and patient! Let the system work, it will and has for
many who practice it. There are other systems that at times are enticing,
but none offer the kind of potential that CANSLIM in its nature and purest
form does.
Look forward to your posts and questions.

While there's been a lot of attention on Japan, and it's continuing
rally (breaking well over 14,000 as I write this), has anybody been
noticing the rallys going on in a lot of other badly beaten down
countries?? Notable, S. Korea, New Zealand, Russia and Israel. Brazil
is also noteworthy considering the continuing problems. Compare its
performance to Venezuela, which had been losing ground even when the
rest of the globe is up.
Haven't tried to explore all of them, nor to quantify which have been
the best, but do like the fact that it's not limited to just one
region.
New Zealand seems to have been lagging Australia for what seems like
years, but done nicely lately.

forwarded that post to a big Greenspan buff, here is his reply. So

I actually have shown you this article in the La Mesa Library. The site
you mention has a few random incomplete quotes from the article. The
entire article, originally published in 1966 NOT 1951, can be found at:

It is also a link under OTHER on GOLDSHEET.

Venuezuela's economy is pegged to oil, which has been slipping even
further in the oversupply we are in. Not surprised that their market
is still down.

I've been getting quite a few e-mails about the A to E posts I made.
If some lurker has been looking for a way to contribute, posting the A
to E percentages on a daily or semi-weekly basis would be of benefit
to those who don't subscribe to IBD. All you'd have to do is add them
up and figure the percentage of each to the total. If you wanted to
keep track of changes from post to post or week to week, that would be
cool too.

Jeff
I would gladly post the a/d weekly or biweekly in a serial format. The
problem is I keep it in excel and I cant transfer this data with copy to a
clipboard thence to this board. If someone can tell me how to easly move
this data without having to type each entry I would. This is a very
helpful tool for me and gives me a better idea of how much is going on.
