I understood you to say that you were selling out when you are ahead =
%100 Thus I concluded that you would probably be selling out when DOCC =
appreciated to 12.78 (double your buyimg price). I guess I missed =
something in your message. In any event it's pretty clear that you made =
a great buy. Personally, I don't worry about taxes since I trade =
tax-free in a Roth IRA. Thus, a 20% gain to me is totally tax free.

7/22. So, I 'm ahead by about %20 at this juncture. Ordinarily, I =
would be selling next week to lock in that gain, but when a stock gives =

nice pick, Donald, I have owned it since 1/30/02 from $6.49. DOCC is =
my lone remaining sterling gem in my portfolios, rest either have =
crashed and burned, or have not given me nearly the 100% gain I seek in =
a year.
In answer to your earlier emails, I do not post my personal picks =
since I deviate so far from mainstream CANSLIM by concentrating on small =
and micro cap stocks, of which this is one. It is a good example of how =
money can be made on the long side when you are right, even in such a =
dismal market. It is also a good example of how a "big" winner (and I =
consider a 92% gain in six months a winner in ANY "M") can be held long =
term. However, because this is a micro cap stock, and with only 7.9 =
million shares in the float, it can be very volatile. I have been lucky =
with this one, as I bought it in the late January base and trusted it to =
b/o (breakout) eventually. And since the b/o it has risen steadily, so =
never gave me reason to sell it.
I do not see any cup in this chart as you ask about. It has risen =
such that any handle on a cup you may see would be a high handle, and =
suspect. Since I bot it, I have not seen another period since that would =
have created a buying opportunity for a CANSLIMer reading charts. In any =
case, "M" would also have been telling you to stay in cash.

Has DOCC just formed a Cup? Or. did it just reach a pivot point =
based on the cup commenced on 5/31. In this connection I note that a =
heavy hitter seems to have stepped forward at or near yesterday's =
closing bell and bought in at 12.50. Aside from that big buy, the =
volume was not outstanding during the day and after hours trading was =
minor. I wonder what will happen on Monday morning. Is there someone =

I've adjusted my screen of stocks making new highs over the past few days

Then I look to see how far below 52-week highs stocks on this list are. It's

thanks, Claire, I tried my normal daily screen which I use for small caps
hitting new highs, but this time used the 200 dma instead of a new high
requirement. Surprisingly, only increased it from one stock to 48 stocks,
but there were a few interesting ones in there that would not need that much
to be back into new high territory. I think next week I will focus on
checking both the 50 and 200 dma to watch for a few ready to break higher.

I haven't done that because I'm not sure I want to watch stocks that are under their
50 day, but you piqued my interest, so I modified the scan and tried it again. There
was an additional condition I had forgotten about, so removed that too. Looking for
stocks priced at 16 or better, eps and revenue growth at least 22%, stocks over a
200 day MA and avg.daily volume > 40k turned up only 20 stocks. That is not a
very restrictive scan I don't think, and it is turning up next to nothing.
I will be skeptical of any follow through day anyway, we aren't going to have a V
bottom, so there will be time to gradually ease back into the market. I've probably
said this before, but at this time I don't see any industry that is going to lead the
market higher. No one is producing strong growth, I don't see a good "N" (new that
is) industry out there right now. I think we could get a bounce that might be good for
trader types who have a short time horizon, say 3 to 4 weeks.

I dont think u need to change your scan. I just think it further proves
that there are not many buy candidates right now.
In one of my scans that i run, there were no stocks with a ACC/DIS rating of
A. I just dont see many sound bases right now. Even if we do follow
through next week, it does not mean you immediately buy anything and
everything you see.
