Earnings forecasts for next year are not very exciting, and I think this industry is
hard to forecast anyway, being somewhat at the mercy of the whims of oil prices
(that is, OPEC). The chart is interesting, sort of a wavy stock, that is, looked at
over a 2 year time frame definitely moves in a series of large wave patterns, looks
to be at the top of a wave right now. I guess it is also a C&H pattern, but that may
not be as meaningful in this stock as in some of the other canslim stocks, since it
has been in a trading range for several years, rather than this being a C&H that has
formed after a sustained advance.

Hi Duke,
I agree, chart shows a decent c&h pattern. But DGO also shows an earnings
forecast for this year of minus 16%. Despite latest report on a Y2Y basis,
it is stagnant compared to the prior three qtrs on both earnings and sales.
The full year negative forecast, combined with this, would make me hesitate.
And I am concerned with the volatility and direction of energy prices. Right
now, the improving US economy combined with OPEC orchestrated production
cutbacks are causing huge cost increases. This may stymie economic recovery
in many countries, and even harm the recovery in the USA.

My first request for a read on a stock.
CRR surfaced on my radar screen several weeks ago, but failed the Current
Earnings test. Today's earnings announcement, however, gives it a 50%
increase, most recent quarter vs. year ago. It also failed increasing in
pre-tax profit margins, but that now is taken care of.
Today it's up slightly on +74% volume, and seems to be working nicely out of
a handle. The weakest link is RS at 56. But...the group has gone from
176, 3 months ago, to 40, last Friday, to 31 today.
Anybody got any input on this one? Seldom find so much CANSLIM going for a
stock...but the chart looks like a new ride at Busch Gardens!

Tom, I set the following scan in DGO and uncovered 73 gems, was totally =

Gene,
Micro and really, really small "small caps" are my favorites. I review =
daily a list of stocks hitting new highs that day, using Marketwatch at =
the CBS site. My basic parameters are volume of 1000 to 500,000 shares =
traded that day, price from $2 to $20, market cap up to several hundred =
million (depending on your preference), and trailing PE of 1 to 100.
For CANSLIM criteria, I want RS at least over 80, but preferably well =
over 90. I will accept EPS ranking down to about 50 or so, but only if I =
can vocalize why earnings per share is ready to accelerate. I personally =
prefer funds ownership in the low single digits to zero (I like to be =
smarter and quicker than the average small cap fund manager), with =
management ownership well into double digits. I have had some of my =
better results with management owning over 50% of the issue.
While I like ROE well into double digits, I have had many winners =
where it was in the low single digits when I first bought it.

HI Tom, I thought it might have been an acquisition, but then I dug =

SMD thinks they can continue to grow in the US (it would be great if =
they

Hi Gene,
I haven't made the time in several months to play around with the custom =
screens at DGO's beta site. Had trouble isolating on stocks making new =
highs, another of my criteria and one I forgot to mention. That's why I =
start with the screen at marketwatch, then review the list at DGO.

Tom, I set the following scan in DGO and uncovered 73 gems, was totally =
surprised at how high the EPS & RS ratings are. Thanks for your help, =
just what the doctor ordered.

Earnings Per Share (EPS) Rating Greater than or equal to: 50=20
Relative Price Strength (RS) Rating Greater than or equal to: 80=20
% of Stock Owned by Mutual Funds Less than or equal to: 10=20

Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] MicroCaps
Gene,
Micro and really, really small "small caps" are my favorites. I review =
daily a list of stocks hitting new highs that day, using Marketwatch at =
the CBS site.
