Subject: [CANSLIM] QP/2 Earning estimates
Hi,
This is regarding QP2 earning estimates. I wonder if I get wrong
estimates for some of the stocks.
for ATMI %EPS Proj CFY 50.00% and %EPS Proj NFY -646.67%.
I think they are doing wrong sign calculation and it should be as follows:
ATMI %EPS Proj CFY -50.00% and %EPS Proj NFY 646.67%.
The same situation I found with many stocks such as OAKT, VSNX, MKSI, NPRO
etc.
Could any other QP/2 user confirm this.
Thanks,
Harbol

Yes, I see the same thing. I suspect that negative earnings number in the=
current
year is somehow throwing off the calculation. They are a pretty responsiv=
e
company, you could probably e mail them on this and get a reply. I don't =
have the e
mail for tech support, but the web site is www.qp2.com, they probably have=
a
contact address there.

Subject: [CANSLIM] education
I noticed 3 education provider type guys pop up on my scan tonight - CECO, UPOX,
and APOL. I find it hard to get very excited about these, but they seem to be
growing at a good rate, and apparently with all 3 moving at the same time there is
some good group strength, someone thinks they are going to do well. Anyone have
any thoughts on the companies or sector in general?

TRADITIONAL CAPITALISM:
You have two cows.
You sell one and buy a bull.
Your herd multiplies, and the economy grows.
You sell them and retire on the income.
ENRON VENTURE CAPITALISM:
You have two cows.
You sell three of them to your publicly listed company, using
letters of credit opened by your brother-in-law at the bank,
then execute a debt/equity swap with an associated general
offer so that you get all four cows back, with a tax exemption
for five cows. The milk rights of the six cows are transferred
via an intermediary to a Cayman Island company secretly
owned by the majority shareholder who sells the rights to all
seven cows back to your listed company. The annual report
says the company owns eight cows, with an option on one more.
Sell one cow to buy a new president of the United States, leaving
you with nine cows. No balance sheet provided with the release.
The public buys your bull.
AN AMERICAN CORPORATION:
You have two cows.
You sell one, and force the other to produce the milk of four cows.
You are surprised when the cow drops dead.
A FRENCH CORPORATION:
You have two cows.
You go on strike because you want three cows.
A JAPANESE CORPORATION:
You have two cows.
You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary
cow and produce twenty times the milk.
You then create clever cow cartoon images called Cowkimon
and market them World-Wide.
A GERMAN CORPORATION:
You have two cows.
You reengineer them so they live for 100 years, eat once a month,
march in step and milk themselves.
A BRITISH CORPORATION:
You have two cows.
Both are mad.
AN ITALIAN CORPORATION:
You have two cows, but you don't know where they are.
You break for lunch.
A RUSSIAN CORPORATION:
You have two cows.
You count them and learn you have five cows.
You count them again and learn you have 42 cows.
You count them again and learn you have 12 cows.
You stop counting cows and open another bottle of vodka.
A SWISS CORPORATION:
You have 5000 cows, none of which belong to you.
You charge others for storing them.
A HINDU CORPORATION:
You have two cows.
You worship them.
A CHINESE CORPORATION:
You have two cows.
You have 300 people milking them.
You claim full employment, high bovine productivity,
and arrest the newsman who reported the numbers.
AN ISRAELI CORPORATION:
So, there are these two Jewish cows, right?
They open a milk factory, an ice cream store,
and then sell the movie rights.
They send their calves to Harvard to become doctors.
So, who needs people?
AN ARKANSAS CORPORATION:
You have two cows.
That one on the left is kinda cute...

Only two that I know of. You can order a book directly from IBD. Its
published twice a year I think. Also, DGO has a beta site with extensive
industry group info.

And this week they are changing some of their industry groupings, but I
cannot post the details thanks to their legal prohibitions.
I would assume they will publish publicly in IBD the changes once they are
implemented.
If you are willing to spend the bucks (about $535/year using the discount)
for DGO, then the beta site is best as it is updated daily for rankings of
groups and stocks within the group. Once they end the beta, tho, likely you
will have to pay for this additional service.

Thank you all for your response.
I'm sure DGO will make that an add-on charge once the Beta's complete.
I didn't exactly dive in the pool yesterday, but I more than wet my toe with
AXL and UOPX. They seem to be following through today. Is somebody
splashing too much water out of the pool today, or is it just typical
knee-jerk reaction to the last to big up days?

We've had two very big days, market needs to take a rest here. We had two
consecutive trend days, that is, open is near the low, close near the high (look at the
S&P with candlesticks, you'll see two big solid candles). After that you would expect
some consolidation, might setup some good entry opportunities in stocks that are
acting well.
