John,
There is a disproportionate drop in the RS line compared to the droop in =
the
handle, would make me concerned about overhead resistance. Also, earnings
growth for current year forecast at only 13%, another negative. DGO puts =
ADV
at 799,600 so you need nearly 1.6 million for a good b/o.

Walter,
Forks? Knives? That just slows you down. The only way to eat the buns is
with your BARE HANDS!
(just kidding, but if no one is watching...)
Have a happy Thanksgiving.

John,
On a return trip from Vegas a couple of weeks ago, I stopped in Cinnabon's
for the first time. As I stood in line I watched as the buns were coated
with a sugar topping and then placed in an oven. At the table I hungrily
attacked the bun and broke two plastic forks. I then got a plastic knife
which was of little use against the hard, cardboard-like substance. Never
again!
Best wishes,
Walt

JAKK broke out of a pretty nice cup handle last week and since then has
pulled back on lower volume, now almost within 5% of the pivot. A second
chance to buy? IBD Ratings are good and the holiday season is typically
strong for gaming companies.
What about STJ? A huge breakout to new highs but not much of a base.
Haven't seen any news to account for this move.

Here it is Dave,
From Briefing.com
08:23 ET Guidant Corp (GDT) 46.82: Goldman upgrades to MARKET OUTPERFORM
from Market Perform; yesterday the company announced an early halt to its
MADIT II trial by the trial's Data and Safety Monitoring Board due to a
greater than 30% reduction in mortality; firm believes this represents a
major event that should benefit all major defib manufacturers by potentially
doubling the addressable target. Believes GDT could see low 50's near-term;
also sees MDT and STJ as beneficiaries.
10:50 ET Medical Devices Update : Guidant (+9%) and St. Jude (+8%) up
sharply on news of early halt to GDT's MADIT II trial (see 8:23 comment).
Wilson Greatbatch Technologies (GB), a supplier to Guidant, St. Jude Medical
and Medtronic, is up 9%. MDT is up 4%.

Here's a little insight into JAKK from April and August
Archive Headline
23-Apr-01
JAKKS Pacific (JAKK) 12.25 +0.85: Having announced three consecutive
earnings warnings, beginning with 3Q00, it is fair to say that this
multi-line, multi-brand toy company has had its share of earnings problems.
Understandably, its stock has had its problems, too, having fallen from a
52-wk high of 24.25 last April to a low of 7.00 in October. JAKK is on the
mend today, however, after a better than expected Q1 earnings report and
some encouraging guidance. JAKK reported Q1 pro forma net income of $6.2
mln, or $0.33 per diluted share, $0.05 ahead of the First Call consensus.
Net sales of $60.0 mln were up 18% and gross margins improved 120 basis
points to 40.8%. JAKK's core products include World Wrestling Federation
(WWF) action figures and accessories, Flying Colors activity sets, Road
Champs vehicle replicas, Remco toy vehicles and playsets, Child Guidance
infant and pre-school toys, Pentech writing instruments and activity
products, and fashion dolls. JAKK also has a joint venture with THQ, Inc.
(THQI 36.69 -2.01), which entered into a license agreement with WWF that
gives it the exclusive worldwide right to publish WWF video games on all
hardware platforms. JAKK expects to see a significantly greater contribution
from the joint venture in 2002. In the interim, it sounds as if the success
of its core products will be enough to sustain its improved earnings
performance as the company confirmed its previous Q2 forecast for sales to
be in the range of $63-$66 mln and diluted earnings to be between $0.34 and
$0.37 per share (consensus is $0.33). In addition, JAKK said it remains
comfortable with its projection of 15%-23% revenue growth in FY01 and
earnings growth of 5%-12%, which would translate to sales of $290-$310 mln
and net income of $30-$32 mln, or $1.61-$1.71 per diluted share (consensus
is $1.62). The company emphasized that its core business is doing extremely
well, and that it should be well-positioned to weather the economic slowdown
considering that many of its products sell for less than $10. Aside from
that realization, Briefing.com is also encouraged by JAKK's solid balance
sheet, highlighted by nearly $3 per share in cash and marketable securities
and virtually no debt, the company's announcement that its Board has
approved a stock repurchase program of up to one million shares, and an
attractive P/E multiple of 7.6x est. FY01 earnings which is roughly a 50%
discount to JAKK's projected long-term growth rate. Our 6-9 month price
target is $15.-- Patrick J. O'Hare, Briefing.com
21-Aug-01
11:55 ET JAKKS Pacific (JAKK) 18.75 -2.25 (-10.7%): Trading floor sources
attributing decline in the maker of action figures to a CFRA note. The
report apparently cautions of a rising level of receivables at JAKK,
increased inventories, and a sharp decline in operating cash flows.

I've been watching the steel industry with great interest this last year =

Thanks Bill, I'll look forward to taking a look.
Lots of dark fiber out there and too much legislation hampering the last =

more cost effective for the providers, some good technological =
