The following is excerpted from a news group digest, that I
unfortunately have found benefit in receiving for the forseeable
future. The news group is dedicated to the decimination of information
on prostate cancer and the use of radioactive seeds implanted in the
prostate to tread PC.
This company is a/the major supplier of this product as best I
understand
The following quote is from a MD who uses this product.
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------
We have typically had about a 2 month wait for Pd-103 seeds in
recent cases. It is about twice that and worsening for I-125 seeds.
For that reason, the majority of our recent patients have been
implanted with Pd-103 seeds. There is a second producer of I-125
seeds (North American Scientific) on the horizon but I personally
know of nobody that has actually implanted any of their seeds. The
seed manufacturers appear to have underestimated the demand for this
procedure terribly, leading to the current waiting situation. They
simply do not have the current capacity to produce enough seeds to
meet the demand.
I am not sure whether this will improve or not. I personally see the
procedure growing about five-fold in volume during the next few years,
based on the triple whammy of its growing popularity, its ever
strengthening track record against cancer and the demographic trend
of aging baby boomer prostates. I don't know whether the seed
manufacturers have the same future vision or not.

Members, just a word of caution on Waaco's stock forum. As one who ended up
being badly scammed by a totally fraudulent company hyped on their site, I
would encourage all to do their homework on anything obtained there. They
have made a lot of changes to at least appear to be a legitimate center,
however it still is a "trader's forum" not a CANSLIM site. And they never

Can anyone recommend some good software for tracking stocks. I have the
Power Investor from Investor's Alliance, which has served me well. It's
fair, but their data is
often in error. And Internet downloading is too slow. I want
1. Daily updates on the Internet.
2. Screening capabilities for most of the CANSLIM categories (earnings,
etc.)
3. Reasonable price.
What are you currently using, and does it meet your needs?

Its interesting how we can look at these things differently. As Connie
indicates frequently, he is not a CANSLIM-er, but a day trader. However,
there is some overlap in the indicators we use. I would not buy OMQP
because there is, at best, a 2-week base. This is at a level which it
hit back in June and was unable to go higher for longer than a couple days.
I wish you luck.

Members--
I have a couple of stocks that meet my OBV/MF trading criteria:
DGIC BLCA ATRM
I will not be buying these stocks for my own account. I am uneasy about
the Russian comment this morning that an attack on Iraq might expand to
a much larger engagement.
I have only one stock down in my trading account, two with modest gains,
and the rest with gains such that I will probably stop them out today.
I hope to be half in cash by the end of the day. After that, I will
further increase cash to 75 percent.
If there is some non-fireball settlement with Iraq, I will move back a
fully invested position.
I hold these stocks:
AWIN [my losing stock]. I will get out of this stock irrespective of
its action today].
BIORY BOBE FPAM IMR ORCL PACC SYBS TTNP
CVTI BCF
But for the Russian comment, I would hold all of these [except AWIN] and
make buys in DGIC, ATRM, and BLCA.
Am glad to see so many lurkers making themselves known. Believe that you
will find that this is one of the most congenial and knowledgeable sites
anyway. I have found it so.
Should any of you not know, I am a guest that Tom and others have made

I am glad that some of you have made short term money along with your

Though it might negatively affect Cisco's (CSCO) numbers as a CANSLIM

that has transitioned to a large cap stock. I don't think that it is
reasonable to expect continued percentage gains due to the compounding
effects. Before long their sales would exceed GDP, ie. Amway-ish mlm
schemes. CSCO has huge sales on huge market share and sales continue to
grow. It probably remains a solid company for a long-term portfolio.
Your mileage may vary. I don't own CSCO except through mutual funds.

Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] NRVH - what happened?
Tim,
Strangely enough, I am not surprised. Big run from about $15 a year ago.
Big move yesterday on the earnings, but a selloff at the end of the day.
Yesterday's volume was the biggest in over a year (today was higher).
O'Neil says that the end of a move often comes on the highest volume day
since the move began. This is less frequently true when the volume is
associated with a breakout as opposed to a continuation move like NRVH's
yesterday.
The stock has doubled in the previous 15 weeks (climax run, perhaps?) and it
was up about 30% from the base in 3 weeks as of yesterday. One would expect
to find some profit takers at these levels, regardless of the PE and growth
prospects. It was also trading at 2 times its 200 dma ($21 * 2 = $42) which
is often a place to consider taking profits (and many others will do so at
that point as well). NRVH may do ok over the next few weeks or months, but
looks like it wants to rest here. My guess would be for a longer rest than
the 6 week bases it has been springing from recently.
It also came off of a 4th stage base of only 6 weeks duration on the last
b/o with a pivot of around $34. So a 30% move from that base is around (you
guessed it) $44/share. And Canslim says "beware 3rd and 4th stage bases".
And many Canslim'rs take profits at 20%, 25%, and 30%.
It all adds up to some kind of top, either short or long term, who knows.
The earnings were simply an opportunity for the "smart money" to get out at
a high price (yesterday) and the slower money to get out today (like mine).
Whether the sellers will still look smart in 5 months or 5 weeks is another
question.
I was in this one and considered selling yesterday on the pullback for some
of the reasons outlined above, but didn't do a good analysis of the chart
and waited for today. Today's action got my attention and I really thought
it through (per the above). Decided to jump out with a meager profit and go
find something else.
There is always the possibility that this is simply a one day or one week
shakeout and that there will be a bounce or strong rally tomorrow or next
week. But my thinking was "do I want to still be holding this stock in
three weeks and would I buy it today?". And the answer based on today's
action was "no - the chart looks badly hurt here".
As Frank says ... "I am often wrong, so plan accordingly".
Best Regards,
Craig

Subject: [CANSLIM] Stop loss/stop limit
A question on stop loss and stop limit, I have used sell stop at my
etrade account, what happens is that when the price of my stock declines
to the stop loss point, it becomes a market order and executes.
Question is, can I have both a sell stop and stop limit on the same
stock? If so, does the stock sell once it hits the sell stop as long as
its above the sell stop limit? And if it declines below the stop limit
and then rises to above the limit but below the sell stop will it still
execute?
One more, I have seen some posts here regarding buy stop orders that are
below the current ask price on various stops. Is that possible, Etrade
doesn't permit buy stop orders unless they are above the current ask.

Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] Stop loss/stop limit
Let me see if I can explain stops without getting too confusing. If I fail,
ask for clarification during the questions period below.
A stop order (buy or sell) is used to create an order that only goes into
effect under a set of circumstances. A sell stop is used to create a sell
order (mkt or limit) should the stock trade at or below a preset price.
Likewise a buy stop is used to create a buy order should the stock trade at
or above a preset price. In both cases, the "preset price" is "away from the
mkt", that is, below the mkt on a sell stop and above on a buy stop.
In both cases (buy and sell stops) a limit can also be used. What happens is
in two stages (note that both are normally used with a GTC type order - good
till cancelled, which is apparently good for differing time periods
depending on which BD you use). First your stop limit must be triggered. At
that time, the order becomes a day order for either market or limit,
depending on what you use. If you use a limit and it is not met that day,
then the order should revert to its prior form (e.g. a GTC stop limit to
either buy or sell).
Example:
You want to protect a position of 100 ABC, so you enter a stop loss order at
$32.125 (stock currently at $35 with a base at 32.25 at its lowest). If the
stock gaps down to 28, then continues south from there, your stop loss is
triggered and becomes a mkt sell, and you are executed somewhere around 28.
Had you used a stop limit of stop 32.125 limit 31.875, your stop would have
been triggered but the limit not reached. You can also set the limit nr
higher than the stop nr. Works the same way on a buy stop.
Contrast this to a simple limit order. XYZ is trading at 45, and you see the
base 42 to 42.5. You are willing to buy, but don't want to pay more than
43.25, so you enter a buy order (day or GTC) at that price. Or, similiarly,
you own MNO at 38 and are content with a 20% profit, so you enter a sell
order (day or GTC) at 45 7/8. In either case should the mkt move to your
simple limit, you are represented and may be executed. There is only one
stage to this, a buy or a sell, at a preset limit or better. With a stop
order, you have the earlier, triggering, stage which establishes the buy or
sell order.
Questions??
Then class dismissed.
Any statements or opinions are strictly my own and not that of my employer.
My comments should not be interpreted as a recommendation of any kind. I am
a licensed (inactive) broker and an active investor. All investors should do
their own research prior to any investment, especially one learned about on

EPS 95 PE 26 ( 1.0 x SP) ROE 15%
RS 97
Acc./Dis B
Sponsor Rank B
12.4 Mil Float
Group RS 45 (kinda low)
Debt 173% (did they add more to buy Rono Graphic Comm?)
Funds own 40%
Banks 2%
Management 18%
Up/Dwn Vol Ratio 1.1
Technically:
Very strong Money Flow.
Connie Mac 3/5/9 is settling down (tightening) and is correct phase
(crossed over).
May dip one more time to an intraday $39, but unlikely.
Looks very good technically which is the only reason I mention them.
After looking over the fundamentals I don't like it much.
But, technically it is one of the best charts I've seen in a while, daily &
weekly.
Point & figure flattening out however.
Hmm.... I dunno...
Probably better ones out there, sorry I wasted the bandwidth.
Anyone like the leisures? ccl, fgci, rcl, rvr, stnrf?
Ranking looks good, (where I like 'em anyway....)
The cruise companies are sure advertising alot lately.
