OK... I'll take everyone's thoughtful suggestions,
constructive criticism, and clarification on why there
really are some leaders now - and there are a few stocks (1
or 2?) that are hitting new highs. But, ya gotta admit,
M just ain't there right now.

No it is not because the put/call ratio is not that high. It is in .8
range but it needs to go over 1.0. Plus the VIX needs to spike and we are
not seeing that.

Kent - who are you listening to? Local or National?
All I want for Christmas is the 2 front teeth that Greenspan knocked out
last year.
Thanx for the update

"Assuming a breakout (at 41 1/8) takes it up 15% to 47.29, do you
start
ratcheting the stop up from 38 to 40 so you don't let a profit
turn to a
loss?
Thanks
Kent "
The same exact question was asked at a WON seminar. No you are not
supposed to follow the increase with your stop loss. The 7-8% rule
applies only when you buy at the correct pivot. After the breakout
corrections larger than 8% are possible which would shake you out.
(Unless you want to protect a certain gain you had in mind but that
would be out of the scope of canslim).
Ralli
P.S. By the way ,hello to everyone, I 'm a new canslim follower (since
last summer), and also new to the market as a whole.

And furthermore, there is no capitulation, nor fear. The
most likely end of a bear market occurs with low volume and
dispirited and disinterested trading. We are likely to
have a third leg down unless the Fed begins to lower
interest rates soon and quickly.
I would love to get Tom's opinion on this. He's been
through more Bear markets than anyone else here that I know
of.

I don't think we have any leaders now. What we do have are "potential
leaders". IBD/WON keep saying that the next bull market leadership is
likely to come from the top 50 or 60 industries groups. Most of what I'm
doing now is generating lists, and watching for patterns to help ascertain
that leadership. If the bear persists for a time, we may see quite a few
changes in that top 50 or 60 before we find a bottom. However, since you
can't predict that bottom, I'm trying to be "at the ready" everytime we
have a potential follow-through day.
One thing I am doing is removing "defensive" or low-growth industry groups
from my data base. For instance, I'm not watching Tobacco or Utilities.
Yes, they are performing well now, but I agree with IBD that they aren't
likely to lead us to the next bull market. Most of groups I'm interested
in right now are medical or financial. I welcome the return of a few
strong tech groups to the top 60, but there just isn't much there right now.

Yes, the "C" word is something we all would like to see. Given the volume
and price action today, it certainly is a possibility. However, this isn't
the first day in the last 8 months that I've said that, so time will tell.

Hi,
FYI:
XETA, CS, CYCL, PALM beat estimates. RIMM by Yahoo's account missed, but, by
Reuter's account also beat estimates. MU missed the estimates. Another wierd
thing was that while everybody downgraded FDRY, Needham & Co upgraded it to
Strong Buy! Less wierd was coverage of CE Unterberg Towbin of JNPR at strong
buy.
Maybe, these upgrades are another sign of lack of capitulation yet. But, I
can smell it coming.
A very bood line that I once heard is that you are better off watch CBS
market watch on the TV with mute on.
Regards,
Behdad
