  44. Something I noticed (anD dIdn't Much liKE) about DMP and "Anne" was that the
  45. group wasn't together. I think that really ContRibutes a Lot to  the chemISTry
  46. OF tHE show, and without it it seems a bit empty. SO if you're going to pursue
  47. this, I would recomment being VERY careful about it. MaKe sure you're staying
  48. true to the spirit of "Buffy", and keep the characters true. :)

  93. DESCRIPTION: The sequel to "The Necromancer". Abel is now unconcious, but
  94. attracting vampires like flies to honey. Buffy is caught between protecting
  95. her enemy and helping her friend Willow find her beloved Oz. Meanwhile, Willow
  96. gets deeper into magic and the occult in order to find a way to restore Oz to
  97. human form.

  111. Standing innocently in the doorway, Buffy lingered outside of Giles' library
  112. office. Giles himself had his attentions buried in an particularly interesting
  113. read of a book. A few pages went by before Giles finally donned his glasses to
  114. look over a sheepish, quiet Slayer.
  115.  
  116. "Oh, Buffy, I hadn't noticed you there. Is something a matter?" questioned
  117. Giles.
  118.  
  119. "Well, I don't know how to say this, but I was talking with Willow yesterday,"
  120. slowly articulated Buffy.
  121.  
  122. "Are things not all well between you and Willow?" Giles inquired softly.
  123.  
  124. "No," quickly replied Buffy with an unsure expression.
  125.  
  126. She finally admitted, "Yes." Buffy explained, "You see it's just that I've
  127. been spending so much time with the slayage around Abel's crypt and Oz is
  128. still out there."
  129.  
  130. "Ah, and I suppose you want me to tell you it would be fine for you to neglect
  131. your duties and pursue locating Oz with more of your time," guessed Giles.
  132.  
  133. "That'd be perfect," smiled Buffy.
  134.  
  135. "You do realize that this is not only a choice opportunity to slay vampires,
  136. but that if a vampire fed on Abel and consequently killed him that the gateway
  137. Abel sealed would be reopend, giving way for more necromancers to come into
  138. our world. As your Watcher I can't very well endorse you forsaking your
  139. responsiblities," reminded Giles officiously.

  141. Buffy dropped her head and remained silent.
  142.  
  143. "As an adult and dare I say father figure, however, I can tell you that there
  144. are times in one's life when the welfare of those close to you are many times
  145. greater in your heart than responsibilities that one doesn't even want," added
  146. Giles.

  148. Her head now raised, Buffy quizzically glanced a the grin on her Watcher's
  149. face. She answered it a small smirk of her own.

  151. "Thanks," said Buffy plainly. Giles nodded in awknowledgement, seeming larger
  152. than life.

  186. "Wow," said an intrigued Willow, her voice tapered the one sylable word. She
  187. eagerly punched away at the page down key of her laptop. Curious, Xander
  188. leaned over from the other side of the Library table.
  189.  
  190. "What are you looking at?" he asked.
  191.  
  192. "Well, I found out a way to hopefully change Oz back to a human, but it kind
  193. of needs a little hellfire to work," explained Willow readily.
  194.  
  195. "So are you reading up on hellfire?" further asked Xander.
  196.  
  197. "Well, no. There wasn't much known about hellfire, so I started reading on how
  198. a necromancer becomes a necromancer. This is pretty sad," Willow said, eyeing
  199. the screen in front of her.
  200.  
  201. Xander comforted, "Come on, Willow, you're not being that desperate." 
  202.  
  203. "I meant how they become a necromancer is sad," Willow chastised. She
  204. questioned, "Did you know that when a necromancer seeks an apprentice he looks
  205. for people in the most vulnerable, frustrated walks of life?"
  206.  
  207. "No, but it makes sense. Who better to become an ultra bad villian guy then
  208. someone who can't get a girl to notice him," Xander commented. He continued,
  209. accelerating into a ramble, "And then when she does she only thinks he's a
  210. pathetic loser. Finally, when she get's over how demeaning it is to be seen
  211. with him she puts him down at every opportunity to make herself feel
  212. important. But, I'm a man who has feelings, too. I'm not just her whipping
  213. boy-"
  214.  
  215. Xander interuppted himself, "What were we talking about again?"
  216.  
  217. "Like I was saying. They find someone who's already sick of the world and come
  218. to him in a nightmare. They torture that person in his sleep by showing him
  219. the most grusome horrors of man's inhumanity to man. By the time the dream is
  220. over he's an even more broken soul. Only after that do they offer
  221. apprenticeship," described Willow.
  222.  
  223. "Wow, and I thought colleges had aggresive recruiting programs," wryly joked
  224. Xander.
  225.  
  226. "This is like our first villian with a sob story. I mean, vampires get sired
  227. and then they're vampires. Demons are demons. But, this guy is a human being
  228. who's had a past and a childhood and develeoped in the monster that he is,"
  229. Willow observed with a touch of compassion.
  230.  
  231. "Well that doesn't change the fact that he is the monster that he is. Right
  232. now, this guy being a vegetable is justice," redirected Xander.
  233.  
  234. "I guess. But, can you imagine how horrible his life must have been for a
  235. necromancer to pick him for an apprentice," offered Willow.
  236.  
  237. "You're not getting all soft on him are you?" Xander questioned.
  238.  
  239. "No. It's just that the more I learn about where Abel's coming from, the
  240. harder it is for me to hate him," answered Willow.
  241.  
  242. "Hey, guys," greeted Buffy, emerging from Giles' office.
  243.  
  244. "Buffy-" began Willow, but she was cut short.
  245.  
  246. "I've thought about what you said and I've finally really got my priorities
  247. straight," interjected Buffy.
  248.  
  249. "I'm sorry for being so stuck up before," apologized Willow sincerely.
  250.  
  251. "It's ok. It's to be expected considering what you've been through. Anyway,
  252. there've been reports of a 'bigfoot' type monster in Weberton. It sounds
  253. promising so I figure after school tommorrow we can head up there for the
  254. weekend and see if we can bring Oz home," said Buffy, mixed emotions bleeding
  255. through at different times in her statement.

  257. "Great! I'll brush up on some witchcraft stuff, it might help us to find him,"
  258. Willow said excitedly.

  271. Description: Buffy/Angel Love Story.
  272. Disclaimer: Plot Mine. Characters all but Savarah are mine!
  273. I own nothing that's really Buffy, never will, don't sue. 
  274. Feedback: I live for it. I also refuse to write without it!

  276.     Xander and Cordelia burst into the library with two bags
  277. filled with the supplies Willow requested. Their sudden intrusion
  278. interrupted Buffy's sword fight with Angel. Angel wasn't distracted
  279. by their appearance and took a swing at Buffy's head, assuming she
  280. would have blocked it.
  281.      Buffy ducked just in time to avoid the blade hitting her
  282. neck.
  283.      "Angel!"
  284.      "Sorry. I *thought* you would block it!"
  285.      "Likely excuse," Buffy said with a grin.
  286.      "Here's the stuff you asked us to get." Cordelia said
  287. squeamishly handing over the bag she was carrying to Willow. "What
  288. are we supposed to do with all those smelly plants?"
  289. Ignoring Cordelia, Willow moved to instruct everyone on the
  290. plan. "Angel, Buffy, Xander. You'll need to leave the room."
  291.      "Why?" Buffy asked defensively.
  292.      "The ritual is very strict about who can be in the room and
  293. exactly how many. Buffy, you and Angel are too close to Savarah to
  294. be able to perform this. Xander, well, the ritual only needs the help
  295. of three."
  296.      "Fine by me. I've had enough of all this."
  297.      "Why do I have to help?"
  298.      "Cordelia, could you please just not argue with me now.
  299. This is not the time."
  300.      "Fine."
  301.      Buffy, Angel and Xander left the library and waited outside.
  302. They listened to Willow's chanting and could smell the putrid aroma
  303. that came from the burning of herbs and oils.
  304.      Several minutes passed and finally Cordelia came crashing out
  305. of the library, her lungs filled with smoke from the fire.
  306.      "Are you okay?!" Xander asked as he tried to comfort her.
  307.      "Yeah, never been better. They're done in there."
  308.      Buffy and Angel rushed back into the library and anticipated
  309. the result of the ritual.
  310.      "We did it! She won't be able to curse you this time. If you
  311. win, you win," Willow shrieked with a giant grin on her face.
  312.      "Thank you, Willow," Angel said while hugging Willow.
  313.  
  314. * * * * *
  315.     Buffy and Angel walked down the deserted sidewalk next to
  316. the graveyard. Their heads, filled with millions of thoughts.
  317. Thoughts of love, of revenge and of regret. Wondering if they
  318. would ever be free of the devil, Savarah. If they would ever be
  319. free of the guilty pain they both suffered from equally. 
  320.      Angel stopped and grabbed Buffy by the arm. He spun her
  321. around to face him. "You sure you want to do this?"
  322.      "Do I have a choice?"
  323.      Angel dropped his head.
  324.      "Hey, don't take this on yourself. It's my fault we're
  325. in this mess."
  326.      "When are you going to stop blaming yourself."
  327.      "When it stops being the truth.  Angel, you know just as
  328. well as I do, that this all comes back..."
  329.      Angel pressed his lips against hers.  Her body went limp
  330. in his arms. "I don't want to lose you."
  331.      "I don't want to lose you either," Buffy said innocently
  332. as she watched him fight against the demon inside him.  It had
  333. been so long since they had been close to each other but the
  334. painful memories kept them at a distance.
  335.      "Are you ready to accept the consequences this may bring?"
  336.      "What's with the twenty questions? I'm ready and willing
  337. to fight her."
  338.      "Great. Then let's go!" Said a cocky voice from behind them.
  339. Buffy and Angel both turned around to see Savarah leaning up against
  340. the same tree as before. Somehow they managed to meet her again in
  341. the same place. "I mean, if you two are ready."
  342.      The both looked at each other for a second, questioning if
  343. they really were ready. "Let's go!" Angel said, his face distorting
  344. to his alter ego.
  345.      "I noticed you sunk to my level by binding my spell casting
  346. powers. Very clever."
  347.      "I wanted a fair game," Buffy said bluntly.
  348.      "It'll be fair alright. But I have just one little rule."
  349.      "Oh yeah, almost forgot. Can't play a game with you without
  350. rules," Buffy said.
  351.      "Oh, but that is my one rule. No rules, no limits, just
  352. pure, bloody fun!"
  353.
