Summary: How *did* Drusilla become a vampire?

Charlotte Sometimes (Part 46)

    Angelus stretched out his legs as he stood up, staring at the small
girl laying on the bed. Not that he was afraid to see this when she
woke. It was just...  He had never done such a hideous thing before...
She was young.
Probably too young.
    Perhaps for the first time in 100 years he felt regret.

Angelus shrugged. Shit happens. And anyways the child would be awakening
soon to her new life. Presuming the whole thing went okay, and he was
missing Drusilla terribly.

    "I want to go home" at least now she wasn't screaming.. Like a child,
Ian smirked.. A child who knew they're not gonna get their wish, but
won't stop nagging nonetheless.
    She slide into the bed, waiting for Ian to tuck her in.

And he possibly would have, had it not been for the ever watchful gaze
of Angelus' eyes glittering in the window.
    Ian frowned and looked elsewhere.
    He turned to leave "I have to retire for the night," He began only to
be stopped by the whimpering Drusilla "But don't you worry, I'll be
back..."
    Ian paused before blowing out the candle to look at her innocent eyes.
He mourned for her, such an innocent creature. Whatever spell she had
cast wrong, or karma she had let off she was undeserving of the awful
wrath Angelus could bring - was bringing. "Don't be afraid."

    It was just when sleep had fallen that he entered.
Drusilla's mind collapsed and she watched her memories explode like a
shattered window. Before her lips parted to scream her eyes impacted
with the cause of this sight.
    She gasp and jumped, running just as far as the wall and slamming into
it and down on her knee's.
    Dru's eyes opened...

"Shhhh," Angelus whispered moving timidly closer to the girl whimpering
on the floor. "Shhhh." She raised her mouth to scream when she noticed
something new in his demeanor. Not only was he wearing a blue shirt with
gray like pants, but he was holding a bouquet of roses.

    Angelus smiled, titling the flowers closer to her. "I'm not going to
hurt you Drusilla" He smiled his most charming smile realizing she most
likely couldn't see in the darkness unlike himself.
    But she was transfixed on the flowers he held. Huh..
Angelus chuckled moving only nearer enough so that he could lay then on
her sprawled out legs with stretched arms then jumped onto the feathered
bed.

    Her mother used to bring her flowers. White and pink, and purple, and
red flowers when she was sick, or sad, on her birthday on holiday's.
    The house would reek of musk from the elaborate petals.
    And now he came.
    Bringing her another torture to prove his love.

    "You know Dru, this place really isn't you..."
    "Angel or demon?" She whispered as he took his next breath for the
sentence.
    "Funny you should ask," A curious demon smiled titling on his elbow to
gaze at her still transfixed on the flowers he'd brought.
    "I know the names confusing..." he continued slowly not knowing if she
was listening, talking more to ease his nerves, slowly speaking words he
thought she wanted her hear, until he was aware of her starting to
stand.
    "Drusilla?" He asked bouncing off the bed to stand also. "Dru?
Darling?" He reached his arm out to her moving body. His ice fingers
touched her and she screamed bolting for the door.

    Angelus hissed and grabbed her wrist exciting a more treacherous scream
from her. His grasp let up remembering the witches pit and she staggered
a few feet backwards to stare shaking as her wide eyes met his.

Angelus's gaze roamed all over her body quickly not sure of what was
wrong, not sure for the second time tonight (as a matter of counting...)
    "Are you alright?" He asked wishing there had been a little bit of
feeling in his voice.
    "Drusilla?" Angelus stepped back giving her room.
    There was no way she could get out of this room, he'd heard Ian lock
the door, and the window was blocked by himself.
    Angelus stepped backwards until he hit the bed again, more than two
yards away.
    "I'm not going to hurt you." he promised again, "I came here, to be
with you. Drusilla? Be with me tonight?"

Title~ Libidinous  6/?
Author~ Shani
Notes~ in psychoanalytlic theories, the libido is the driving force behind all
human actions
Summary~  A Buffy/Angel story with a few twists.  Involves characters from
General Hospital, but yoiu donÆt have to watch GH to understand this fic.  I
did change a thing or two around for you GH fans.
Disclaimer~  All characters of Buffy the Vampire Slayer belong to Joss
Whendon, Mutant Enemy Productions, Kuzui Enterprises, Sandollar Productions,
and 20th Century Fox.  ôOn My Ownö is from the Musical Les Miserables and can
be found on the Les Miserables soundtrack (Act II).  All characters of General
hospital belong to ABC.


Chapter 6, On My Own

<And now I'm all alone again
  Nowhere to turn, no one to go to
  Without a home without a friend
  Without a face to say hello to>

    Buffy was in a daze.  She knew that this wasnÆt as bad as Angel being in
Hell.  She knew that there may be a way to fix it.  She also knew that she had
just gotton him back, and that it was too soon to loose him again.  She
shouldnÆt ever loose him again.  It should have been her, not him.  Never him.

< And now the night is near
   I can make believe he's here
   Sometimes I walk alone at night
   When everybody else is sleeping
   I think of him and I'm happy
   With the company I'm keeping
   The city goes to bed
   And I can live inside my head>

    She felt alone.  The way heÆd pushed her down and the way he spoke to her, it
was almost like Angelus.  It wasnÆt Angelus, it was Arcanus, but a demon none
the less.  She loved a demon again, rather, her love was a demon again.  How
could she fix this?  If Arcanus had jumped from Lucky to Angel, maybe he would
do it again.  Still, what about the sunlight?  Angel could be gone forever...


  <On my own
     Pretending he's beside me
     All alone
     I walk with him till morning>

    If she closed her eyes, she could see his face.  If she listened closely, she
could almost hear him whisper æI love you.Æ  Almost wasnÆt good enough.
Pretending is so far from the real thing.  Nikolas and Stefan had left her to
collect herself.  I was time to find them.  It was time to put a stop to
Arcanus and save Angel.

< Without him
    I feel his arms around me
   And when I lose my way I close my eyes
   And he has found me>

    ôHey.ö  She said.  Stefan and Nikolas turned.  Buffy managed a small smile.
Nikolas came over to her.
    ôHow are you doing?ö  He asked her softly.
    ôIÆve been better, though IÆve been worse.  IÆll better once this is over.ö
She told him.  But, this would never be over.  Not for her at least.  She led
Nikolas over to Stefan.
    ôHow can I stop Arcanus?ö  She asked flatly.
    ôIÆve brought some books that I think may be quite useful to us.ö  A voice
said from behind.  A voice that carried a heavy English accent.
    ôBut hey, if they donÆt help, at least we got to come to New York.ö  Another
voice added.  Buffy turned.  There stood Xander, Willow and Giles.

<In the rain the pavement shines like silver
  All the lights are misty in the river
  In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight
  And all I see is him and me forever and forever
  And I know it's only in my mind
  That I'm talking to myself and not to him
  And although I know that he is blind
  Still I say, there's a way for us>

    BuffyÆs hopes rose.  She no longer felt so completely alone, but the
emptiness was still there.  She ran across the room.  The three smiled and
embraced her.  She wanted to apologize, but didnÆt know how.  How do you
apologize for all that she has done?
    Giles saw the pain in her eyes.  She opened her mouth to speak, but he
stopped her.
    ôThere is no reason for apologies.ö  He told her softly.  Then added, ôYour
mother wanted to come but something came up.  An urgent client or something of
the sort.ö
    Buffy nodded.  She looked at them, each in turn.  She could see the relief in
GilesÆ and WillowÆs face.  When she looked at Xander, she saw more.  There was
no time to ask him what was up now, sheÆd have to save it for later.  She
quickly introduced the bunch to Stefan and Nikolas.  She could see Xander was
jealous of Nik already.

< I love him
  But when the night is over
  He is gone
  The river's just a river
  Without him
  The world around me changes
  The trees are bare and everywhere
  The streets are full of strangers>

    ôWhatÆve ya got?ö  The Slayer asked her Watcher.  He could see the hope in
her eyes.  He had missed her so much.  There will be time for that later.  He
noticed a women come into the room, talk to Stefan, and leave.
    ôThere has been a murder.ö  Stefan stated.  ôJessica Martinez, a student at
the Port Charles High School.  She was involved in gang activity and so far
that is the explaination that is being used.  Do not be alarmed.  The PCPD is
highly stupid.ö
    ôHow was she really murdered?  How does Arcanus kill?ö
    ôWell, umm....ö  Giles trailed off as he began flipping through some books.
ôHe stabs them in the heart, then drinks their life.ö
    ôSo heÆs like a vamp?ö
    ôNo, vampires consider blood to be life because without it, most organisms
would die.  Arcanus does not drink blood, he drinks what known as libido.ö
Giles corrected.
    ôLibido?ö  Willow jumped in on the convorsation.
    ôItÆs believed to be the main force behind all human actions.  Though it is
invisible, it is believed by certain religions that without libido the heart
and brain would no longer function.ö
     ôSo, how do I stop him?ö  Buffy asked again.
    ôDonÆt you mean æweÆ?ö  Xander said.
    ôNo, youÆre going to stay out of this.  I donÆt want you to get hurt.  This
is my job, you shouldnÆt have to pay for it.ö
    ôItÆs my fault.ö  Xander blurted.
    ôWhat are you talking about?ö  Buffy asked him.
    ôWhen, when Willow sent me to tell you something before you fought
Angel...I..I gave you the wrong message.ö  Buffy looked at him, her eyes
telling him to continue.  ôShe wanted me to tell you that she was trying to
recurse him again...ö
    ôWhat?  ThatÆs not what you told her?!ö  Willow said angrily.
    ôYou said, you told me Willow said to ækick his ass.Æö  Buffy turned away.
If she had known that Will was trying to recurse Angel, then she would have
changed her plan.  She would have tried to buy time...tried to stop Angel from
awakening Acathla.
    ôBuff..ö
    ôDonÆt.  We are going to find out how to stop Arcanus, we are going to get
Angel back, and you are going to tell him what you just told me.ö  Buffy told
him, her voice dangerously soft.

< I love him
  But every day I'm learning
  All my life
  I've only been pretending>

    Buffy could tell that she was not the only one that was shocked by XanderÆs
confession.  æI canÆt think about that right now.  I have to focus on killing
Arcanus, without hurting Angel.Æ  She loved Xander as a friend, but it would
take time to forgive him.  But, she was willing to forgive him.  She had never
forgiven Jenny Calander before she died and she wasnÆt going to let that
senario happen again.  She would keep them all alive if it cost her her life.
IsnÆt that what the SlayerÆs for?

Chronicles of the White Knight
#20 Wishing

    Xander walked towards the door as the ceremony to restore Angel's
soul began to take place, but he gave a reassuring smile to Buffy before
he left.  She returned his grin and mouthed, "Love ya," as Willow began
to speak the Latin words.  He nodded and answered with a silent, "I love
you, tooàgood luck."

    The atmosphere in the library was too intense for him to handle.
It was as if an invisible smoke had seeped into the room, causing his
lungs and throat to tighten, so much that he could barely breath.  Once
outside, he began to feel better, but whatever might have occurred today
to make the day better, no matter what, today was going to stay decidedly
gloomy.

    "Xanderàare you all right?"  Giles asked feeling rather unwanted
since he had no part in the spell.

    The 17-year-old smiled, "UmàyeahàI guess, if you can call a day
good when your girlfriend decides to resurrect her exàI'm doing fineàI'm
surfin' cloud nine."

    Giles game him a look, "Xanderà"

    He sighed, "Okayàso I'm not feeling too great about all of this,
but I'm dealingàI'll be fine."

    "There are certain things that Buffy feels she must doàthis being
one of them.  I hope that with this she can find the closure she's been
looking for," he said with a sigh.

    "YeahàI know, no matter how hard she tries to hide it, this whole
Angel thing has got her maxi wigged and she thinks it's all her fault,
but I don't blame her for anything.  I don't think Angel would blame her
for anythingàit was one of those wicked hexes in life, y'know?  Something
you never thought would happen," Xander said and then he eyed the Watcher
carefully, "Kinda like how Ms. Calendar's death is your wicked hex."

    Giles glanced up at the young man and a painful look struck his
face, "Y-yesàI suppose you can say that, XanderàI miss her, I really do."

    "What I don't understand isàwhy do you want Angel backàif
technically he killed Ms. Calendar?"

    "It's not so simple as that," was his reply, "I hate Angelus with
all the rage in my heart, obviously, for what he did to Jenny, but I
can't hate Angel for doing something he had no control over.  It was
Jenny's want to bring him backàto not feel guilty, and I rather hope she
didn't feel guilty in deathàand if she didàI'd rather wish I can't take
that guilt and make it go away.  Well, I suppose I better get back into
the library, just in case, but you do understand what I mean?"

    Xander nodded, as the librarian began to walk away, "YeahàI know
what you're talking about, and G-man?"

    "Yes, Xander?" Giles said as he opened the door.

    Smiling, he replied, "I hope you get your wish."
