  43. Sumary: Buffy and Angel cope with the thought of love between eachother while
  44. Angel is still evil.  Buffy must face some old horrors as well as some new
  45. ones.

  51. Love's Revival Part 4
  52.  
  53.         "Is she going to be okay?" Willow's voice was filled with tears 
  54. as she watched her best friend's lifeless body placed on 
  55. the bed.  Cordelia, Xander, and Oz stood on one side of the bed while
  56. Giles stood on the other.
  57.         "I don't know. She's barely breathing and she's burning up," 
  58. Giles said as he placed a hand on her forehead.
  59.         "What's wrong with her?" Xander ran is fingers stressfully 
  60. through his hair as he watched her just lay there.
  61.         "She's dying." Angel's mysterious figure approached them from 
  62. out of the closet as Xander shoved Willow and Cordelia behind him 
  63. and stood to protect Buffy. 
  64.         "Did you do this to her?" Xander said as harshly as possible. He 
  65. stood face to face with Angel, a demon of darkness who had already hurt 
  66. Buffy so much. 
  67.         He smiled slightly at the thought. "Of course I didn't do this 
  68. to her; I could never kill her." Angel stepped back a bit, keeping in 
  69. the shadows of the room. 
  70.         "Then how do you know she's dying?" Willow asked still hiding 
  71. behind Xander.
  72.         "Savarah."
  73.         "She did this?" Giles said as he looked at Buffy again.
  74.         "Yeah. Their so called fair fight, well, it wasn't very fair."
  75.         "Oh my god." Giles said faintly as he looked down at Buffy.
  76.         "You don't have much time.  Savarah's taking her soul away from 
  77. her."
  78.         "What?" Oz gasped.
  79.         "Savarah cast a spell on Buffy, just in case she didn't win the 
  80. fight, to remove her soul; and her body can't live unless it has a soul. 
  81. You only have one option, and very little time."
  82.         "What's that?"
  83.         "Give her mine," Angel said painfully. Savarah's words echoed in 
  84. his mind: 'You still love her. Love her. Love-'
  85.         "What? How?" Willow stopped as she realized the disk. "I'll be 
  86. right back." She ran out of the house and got to the library as fast as 
  87. she could.Everyone watched Buffy, tears filling their eyes. She meant so 
  88. much to all of them. 
  89.         "I have to go.  You know what to do. Once she has my soul inside 
  90. of her...she will have to make a decision. She will know what she has to 
  91. do." Angel smiled as he took one last look at her. "I will guide her." 
  92. he said under his breath.
  93.         "But..." Giles tried to stop him, still hoping for more answers, 
  94. but Angel was gone. Almost as if he just disappeared.
  95.         Giles and Xander sat next to Buffy on the bed and held her hands 
  96. tightly in theirs. Minutes passed that seemed like hours. 
  97.         "Where is she?" Cordelia said impatiently. 
  98.         "She'll be here. Just relax," Xander said as he reached for her 
  99. hand.
  100.         "How can I relax when Buffy's about to die?"
  101.         Everyone in the room turned their eyes to her.  "What? I don't 
  102. want her to die." Cordelia said as she turned away from Xander's hand.
  103.         "I've got it," Willow said as she bounced into the room with the 
  104. orb and the spell printed out on paper. "I called his soul into the orb 
  105. while I was in the library. All we have to do now is get it into Buffy's 
  106. body."
  107.         "At the library?" Giles asked, as he thought about Angel and his 
  108. mysterious disappearance.
  109.         "Yeah, now let's do this before it's too late."

  135. Love's Revival Part 5
  136.  
  137.        Willow chanted the spell as the orb grew brighter and brighter 
  138. with every word.  A bright light filled the room, and everyone had to 
  139. shield their eyes from it. Suddenly, the light stopped and the room 
  140. became silent. Attention was all turned to Buffy; but she didn't 
  141. move, and her breath was faint. Giles reached to check her pulse. 
  142.         "It's getting stronger!" he yelled, as tears of joy fell from 
  143. his eyes. Everyone jumped up and hugged eachother. 
  144.         "Hey, are you having a party without me?" a quiet voice came 
  145. from Buffy's lips. 
  146.         "Buffy!" They all screamed in unison. 
  147.         "Hey, hey, watch the noise. I've got a headache that you 
  148. wouldn't believe." Buffy stopped for a second, held her head and then 
  149. looked up to Giles. "Angel?"
  150.         "He gave his soul so you could live, Buffy."  Giles' body went 
  151. stiff at the pain he saw forming in her eyes.  
  152.         "Buffy, you have to decide," Angel's voice whispered inside her 
  153. head.  She smiled as she recognized his sweet voice. 
  154.         "Buffy?" Xander asked, noticing her smile. 
  155.         "I'm fine. I know what I have to do."  The Slayer started to 
  156. push her way out of bed, but Giles and Xander stopped her.
  157.         "Don't! You're too weak."
  158.         "No. I'm strong. I've got help."  They looked at her, 
  159. confused. 
  160.         "Don't try to stop me.  I have to get Angel back."  Buffy 
  161. broke away from their grasp and got to her feet.  "I've got to do 
  162. this.  Don't worry, I won't loose this time."
  163.         "Buffy, you're not-" Willow said as she started to understand 
  164. what Buffy was going to do.
  165.         "Yeah, I am. I'm going to fight her and I'm going to win."  
  166. She was so sure of herself that it scared them.   She had just been 
  167. brought back from near death, and even though she had Angel's soul 
  168. inside of her they didn't think she could fight Savarah again.

  185.                                                                 WHEN?
  186. Buffy was terrified, she wanted to go and help her friends, for she knew the
  187. vampires werent joking and it was too big a risk to assume that they were.
  188. But she couldnt, she couldnt leave, not until Angel allowed her, for she
  189. felt certain that he was the one holding her there.  She began to attempt to
  190. come up with a plan, none were any good, she needed a way to make Angel come
  191. here QUICKLY.  She concentrated on nothing but Angel, she blocked the
  192. thought of her friends doom, and tried to summon Angel.  She didnt bother
  193. to think about the vampires that surrounded her, she thought that their plan
  194. was to make her go to the master and retrieve her friends and then the
  195. master would attack, but she would be ready, while she was stuck waiting she
  196. may as well prepare her self.
  197. While she was planning her attack, a though crept into her mind, what if
  198. Angelus had set all of this up?  He had made her come and stay and planned
  199. for the attack?  She began to worry, for is he had set this up then there
  200. was no way that he would come and rescue Buffy, but maybe Angel can fight
  201. and banish the evil Angelus and then come and help her, but what help could
  202. he be?  There would be no way that he would know where the others were,
  203. whereas Angelus would, she was stuck.

  237.     They walked through the night together, barely night actually, the sky
  238. was dark, but hardly any stars were shinning. Buffy highly doubted that
  239. there were even any vamps around, however that didn't stop her from
  240. carrying her spare stake. 
  241. When they rounded the corner, more than half way to Angels apartment
  242. Xander asked "Do you really think Spike has her?" 
  243.       Buffy knew, almost without a doubt that Spike had her... There was
  244. no proof.. but how much proof do you need to know? I mean, Willow ended
  245. up missing the exact same day that Buffy had slayed Drusilla. 
  246. "I'm pretty sure" She told Xander. And after a long pause continued
  247. "Xander... look..." Buffy slowed down her pace.
  248.     "Willow... Uhm... Well... If she's with Spike.. and umm.."
  249.     "Buffy... Stop there" Xander sighed "I know what your going to say and
  250. I know it's not true." Xander stopped himself, on the edge of tears,
  251. taking a minute to recover before finishing his sentence "Willow can't
  252. be dead. I can feel it Buffy, she's not dead" 
  253.     They both stopped walking Buffy looked downwards "I'm sorry Xander"
  254. She  looked genuinely sorry. "I--" 
  255.     "It's not your fault Buffy" Xander said, though Buffy got the
  256. impression that he didn't really mean it. That he did blame her.. And
  257. why shouldn't he? Spike would never had taken Willow had it not been for
  258. Buffy..
  259.     The continued walking, both remaining in silence, each lost in their
  260. own minds until they came to Angels place.
  261.

  264.     Angel answered the door within two knocks. His eye's lit up when he saw
  265. Buffy standing there, though he made no move to show it. She could come
  266. with bad news.
  267.     He moved aside and invited them in.
  268.     "How's Giles" He asked.
  269.     "Giles is fine." She said...
  270.     Buffy sat down, took a deep breath and blurted out "I need to know
  271. where Spike is"
  272.     "Buffy, I--" Angel began about to express his concerns when he was
  273. interrupted
  274.     "Yeah, I know" Buffy said sounding annoyed. "But Willow may be
  275. endanger." Buffy's eye's pleaded with him to understand.
  276.     "We think.. we haven't seen her.. since that night.. we haven't seen
  277. Spike, I mean, put two and two together." She nearly sobbed out.
  278.     Angel glanced at Xander who was staring at a picture on the wall, very
  279. clearly not thinking of the picture.
  280.     Angel nodded silently and Buffy let out the breath she didn't know
  281. she'd been holding. "Thank-you" She whispered.

  306.     Angel led her to an abandoned warehouse. Buffy rolled her eyes 
  307.       "You've got to be kidding me? He has Willow in here?" A shudder
  308. past threw her. Just the thought of Willow being held captive to Spike
  309. was enough to make her want to gag. 
  310.       "So what are we waiting for?" Xander all but yelled, as he charged
  311. forwards.
  312.       Buffy grabbed him as he dashed by.
  313.       "Have we forgotten Willow's life is at risk here?!"
  314.     Buffy pulled him down and whispered "Calm down!" Buffy's eyes scanned
  315. the perimeter, before she looked back at Xander " We're going to get
  316. Willow! But we don't know how many vamps there are guarding this place."
  317. She said, and looked around. She unfastened her cross around her neck
  318. and handed it to Xander along with a stake.  
  319.       "You stay here, I'll be right back"
  320.

  323.     Spike was sitting in the main level of the building. His mind was
  324. wondering around again, his thoughts were of Drusilla...
  325.     Idly he thought about the 3 stages of man... The denial, then
  326. awareness, and at last acceptance 
  327.     Acceptance... Spike sighed loudly.
  328.     Vampires don't have souls. Their souls are taken away with the first
  329. drink of immortal blood. The soul dies, the body remains. That's how it
  330. goes.
  331.     But humanity, love, compassion...  Why did he feel this way? He loved
  332. Drusilla. There was no doubt about it. But his Drusilla was gone. She
  333. was dead.
  334.     Spikes thoughts paused...
  335.     Where was the slayer? You'd think she'd be rushing to save her sweet
  336. friend. Not stalling so long....
  337.     
  338. ~~~~~~~
  339.  
  340.     Buffy peeked around the corner. There were two vampires guarding the
  341. entrance... Buffy blinked. Only two? This would be a piece of cake. She
  342. thought, hoping she wasn't jinxing the hell outta this.
  343.     She slowly began to sneak up on the two.
  344. A third vampire came around the corner. Buffy of course, caught up in
  345. her sneaking, didn't see him until it was to late.
  346.       He grabbed her from behind. The two guards at the door turned and
  347. came after her smiling.
  348.     "Slayer" the first one hissed as the two came nearer
  349.     "The one and only" Buffy said, struggling to get out of the vampires
  350. grasp.
  351.       "Spike will be pleased" One hissed, as the other nodded.
  352.     Though as soon as they got within reach Buffy kicked out sending the
  353. first flying, and the other staggering back.
  354.     Tossing her head violently back, and vampire holding her stumbled ad
  355. released her.  
  356.     She stood, positioned to see all three vampires, waiting for one to
  357. attack.
  358.

  362.     Away in Drusilla's bedroom, the small bundle that lay on top of the
  363. covers began thrashing about.
  364.     Willow awoke, her head spinning.
  365.     Pictures, words, lifes, all things flashed before her.
  366.     Blood, fire, and people, Spike, and torches, lots of fire, endless
  367. fields of blood... 
  368.     Unable to focus, to think, to breathe she began to panic, her head,
  369. everything was so fast... nothing would stand still long enough for her
  370. to comprehend. Spike, Drusilla, Angel ... 'Angelus' her mind told her...
  371. Blood... there was so much blood.
  372.     Willow's Eyes flew open suddenly, as she gave a shattering breath for
  373. the air she no longer needed. Her body was in panic mode, and she
  374. couldn't stop herself from the scream that escaped from her lips.

  380.     Spike listened to the tossing and turning coming from the other room. 
  381. Her scream was well savored... 
  382.     Somewhat surprised at how fast her change had gone. Spike picked up a
  383. glass of blood and began walking into the bedroom room
  384.     "Spike!" he heard a vampire called from behind him.
  385.     Spike turned around fast enough to see the vampire turn to dust.

  387.     "Hello Spike"
  388.     Spike smiled, as the slayer approached him...

  414.     "I was just thinking of you" Spike said, setting down the goblet on a
  415. nearby create
  416.     Buffy walked down the stairs, trying not to let the adrenaline pulsing
  417. through her body make her act rash. But at the site of Spike's face...
  418. She wanted so badly to rip out his heart. "Where's Willow?" She hissed.
  419.     "Willow?" Spike asked, tapping his fingers on his chin. "That'd be the
  420. redhead right?"
  421.     They were nearly a yard away from each other now. The tension between
  422. them was amazing.
  423.     Buffy's nerves towered as she heard a heart shattering scream come from
  424. the room next to them. Her eyes widened in shock but Spike just smiled
  425. innocently. 
  426.     Buffy ran to the next room to get Willow before it was too late.
  427. Only to be stopped dead in her tracks by Spike "Now, now. No peeking
  428. behind the doors."
  429.     Buffy immediately hit out at him, but Spike easily blocked her blow,
  430. and holding her arm, kicked her head.
  431.     This disoriented Buffy a little and she staggered back a bit, giving
  432. Spike enough time to punch Buffy in the stomach a couple times, until
  433. she caught his wrist.
  434.     Tightening her grip she swung Spike around, sending him flying on top
  435. of the table with a loud crash.
  436.  
  437.

  440.     Willow's body jerked up at the loud noise echoing in her head.
  441.     Willow blinked. She could barely comprehend her own surroundings, she
  442. knew she was in Spikes warehouse, and she knew also that she was in
  443. Drusilla's bedroom. The room wasn't so dark now. There were no candles
  444. lit, but she could see just fine. Only that when she did looked she saw
  445. Spike.. And then when she closed her eyes, all she saw was blood.
  446.     Willow blinked over and over, trying to get her head to focus.
  447.     "Spike?" Willow asked out loud to the only person who could help her. 
  448.

  450.     
  451.     Neither of the two heard her, both concentrating on each other as Buffy
  452. jumped on top of the table, straddling Spike's body, she went to meet
  453. the stake with his chest, when he kicked her feet out from under her,
  454. sending the slayer  down on her back with a loud thud. Spike jumped off
  455. the table to meet with Buffy's body.
  456.

  459.     Her ears caught the noise from outside, ringing so loudly that all she
  460. saw was red. 
  461.     "Spike!" She screamed as loud as her voice would carry.
  462.

  465.     'Damn it' Spikes mind yelled at him as Willow's terrified scream filled
  466. the warehouse.
  467.     "Willow" Buffy whispered as her head stopped spinning.
  468.     "yeah." Spike sighed, looking down at the slayers sprawled out body.
  469. "But don't worry. I'll make sure she has a happy home."     
  470.     Buffy didn't understand. Not at first.
  471.     "But - I'm afraid that her happy home, doesn't include you." He
  472. finished as he bent down to pick up.
  473.

  475.     
  476.     All she could think about was blood. All she could see, taste, feel,
  477. hear. Everything was blood. 
  478.     Without her consciously knowing Willow began to stand, unsure of
  479. exactly where she was going, she found herself at the door.
  480.     She had to shake her head just to make sure she was looking at a door,
  481. her mind, her thoughts were so slow, she didn't understand what was
  482. happening to her, but she did know one thing.
  483.     Blood.
  484.     Grasping the door handle roughly she shook at it. It didn't budge. She
  485. shook it again, and again, until the door busted in two, and she walked
  486. out.

  492.     Spike grabbed Buffy and turned both their bodies towards Willow.
  493.     Buffy gasped at she took one look on her friends distorted face.
  494.     She shook her head, "No... No not Willow.."
  495.     "'fraid so" Spike said, tightening his grip, he couldn't help but
  496. smile, this was to perfect.
  497.     "C'mere, love" He said to Willow. "I have a treat for you"
  498.

  539. SUMMARY:  Okay, well this takes place while Ms. Calendar is still alive,
  540. but Angel is evil, so probably Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered.  It's
  541. another "Angel gets his soul back" story which I wrote to convince myself
  542. that Angel could be good again.  It's kind of long and I'm sorry about that
  543. you all. 
  544.  
  545. AUTHOR'S MESSAGE:  I would like to dedicate this part to Leslie who bravely
  546. came out in the open about her obsession with Buffy.  I too am obsessed.
  547. They say that admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery.
  548. Well, I don't want to recover, so I'm not going to.  Everyone enjoy the new
  549. ep.  We deserve it for our patience.

  553. The Cure   (12/14)
  554.  
  555. The "library club" was hard at work.  Under the direction of the
  556. elderwoman, they prepared many things.  They combined herbs as she directed.
  557.  
  558. The elderwoman suddenly turned.
  559.  
  560. "Buffy, do you have any Holy water?"
  561.  
  562. "Yeah, why?" Buffy asked, bewildered.
  563.  
  564. "For protection, Janna must soak in Holy water.  She will also need to
  565. consume a large quantity.  That way, if something should go wrong and
  566. Angelus tried to feed on her, the Holy water will make him stop.  Her blood
  567. will be like poison to him, and touching her will burn him.  How much can
  568. we muster?  Where can we get more if needed?"
  569.  
  570. "Giles, how much HW you got?" Buffy asked.
  571.  
  572. "HW?" Giles asked, confused.
  573.  
  574. "Holy water, Giles.  How much do you have?" Buffy asked.
  575.  
  576. "Oh yes, HW, Holy water, very good.  Twenty to twenty-five jars, I should
  577. think," Giles replied, smiling.
  578.  
  579. "I got about the same at home.  Will that be enough?"
  580.  
  581. "How large are the jars?" the elderwoman asked.  Buffy made a gesture to
  582. indicate the size of the jar.
  583.  
  584. "That will be enough for Janna to soak in.  We will need about twenty more
  585. for her to drink."
  586.  
  587. "TWENTY JARS!?!  How am I supposed to drink that much?" Jenny exclaimed.
  588. Jenny and the elderwoman began discussing the Holy water.  The phone rang
  589. and Willow got it.
  590.  
  591. "Giles, what church should I break into to get more HW?" Buffy asked.
  592.  
  593. "I would recommend the nearest church," Giles smiled at buffy's matter of
  594. factness about breaking and entering.
  595.  
  596. Willow put the phone on the counter with enough of a bang to make everyone
  597. turn to face her.
  598.  
  599. "Buffy, there's someone on the phone for you.  It's Spike.  And he wants to
  600. help us re-curse Angel."
  601.  
  602. ***************
  603.  
  604. Angel was sitting on Dru's bed watching her play with her dolls.  She would
  605. take care of them, mother them and then suddenly, she'd lash out at them.
  606. <<Oh well, that's what happens when you're insane,>> he thought, grinning
  607. at the thought that he caused it.  Nonetheless, he was bored. <<Oh well,
  608. it's worth it to make Spike angry.>>
  609.  
  610. ***************
  611.  
  612. Buffy was stunned that Spike was on the phone, but nevertheless she picked
  613. up the receiver.
  614.  
  615. "Hi Spike.  What's up?"
  616.  
  617. "Hello Buffy.  I have a proposition to make.  Are you trying to re-curse
  618. Angelus?"
  619.  
  620. "Okay, you have my full attention.  What do you mean?"
  621.  
  622. "Well, this may be hard to believe, but I want to help you."
  623.  
  624. "And I should believe you why?"
  625.  
  626. "Look, this sounds strange, I know, but we can actually help each other out
  627. here.  You want the Angelus with a soul, I want him away from my Dru.
  628. Giving him back that soul satisfies that .  What can I so to help you?"
  629.  
  630. "Will you hang on a sec, Spike?  I gotta talk to Giles."
  631.  
  632. "Sure, I'll call back in. . .how long do you need?"
  633.  
  634. "Gimme a half an hour."
  635.  
  636. "Alright, bye."
  637.  
  638. "Bye Spike."
  639.

  642. Buffy paced around the library.  School had let out two hours ago.  Buffy
  643. was anxious about the ritual.  She's talked to Spike, and his job was to
  644. call once Angel left to hunt and to tell them where he was going to hunt.
  645. Buffy and Ms. Calendar would go there, Buffy would distract him and ms.
  646. Calendar would put a spell on Angel that would make him completely
  647. helpless.  They would go to the library where everything would be set up
  648. for the ritual.  Buffy wanted to whole thing over with.
  649.  
  650. "Giles, I'm going to get the Holy water."
  651.  
  652. ***************
  653.  
  654. Willow was dripping wax over the floor of the library under the careful
  655. guidance of the elderwoman.  Willow was really happy and excited. <<This is
  656. so great for Buffy!>> she thought.  <<And I get to go home again.>> Willow
  657. gently poured the melted wax on the floor. <<Plus, I miss Angel.  He was so
  658. nice and smart,>> Willow remembered.  Willow continued pouring the wax.
  659.

  662. Xander measured out another herb who's name he couldn't pronounce. <<Oh,
  663. good, dead boy's coming back,>> Xander thought sarcastically.  But Xander
  664. was kind of relieved.  Buffy had taken this whole thing pretty hard.
  665.  
  666. <<And I have to admit, I kind of miss the walking corpse.  He was really
  667. helpful.>>
  668.  
  669. ***************
  670.  
  671. Spike rolled back to the table.  He felt a little bit bad, a little like a
  672. traitor. <<But she's worth it,>> Spike thought.
  673.  
  674. "Hey roller-boy!" Angel said.  Spike just sat at the table.
  675.  
  676. "Aw, don't sulk Spikey.  What's the matter, can't take a joke?" Angel
  677. continued.
  678.  
  679. "Hi Angelus.  Where's Dru?" Spike asked.  She's taking a little nat before
  680. dinner.  She got a little worn out," Angel replied.  Spike gave a little
  681. laugh.
  682.  
  683. "If you're trying to make me jealous Angelus, it won't work," Spike replied.
  684.  
  685. "Not why would I want to do something like that?" Angel asked, pretending
  686. to be innocent.
  687.  
  688. "Fine Angelus," Spike said calmly. <<After tonight, you're not coming
  689. back,>> Spike thought.
  690.  
  691. ***************

  693. Buffy walked towards the church that was only a few blocks away.  She
  694. quietly snuck around to the side where she knew the offices were. <<No one
  695. in there.>>
  696.  
  697.  
  698. buffy carefully looked in every window.  Buffy didn't see anyone.  Through
  699. on window she saw a large supply of Holy water.
  700.  
  701. <<Must be my lucky day," Buffy smiled.  She tested the window. <<Alright,
  702. unlocked!>> Buffy opened the window and pushed herself in.  She quickly
  703. scouted to make sure no one was around.  When she was satisfied that no one
  704. was there.  She grabbed all the Holy water she needed and went back out the
  705. window.
  706.  
  707. Buffy walked as quickly as she could back to the library.
  708.  
  709. ***************
  710.  
  711. Buffy watch anxiously out the window as the sun sank below the horizon.
  712.  
  713. "Sunset," she declared the second the sun sank below the horizon.
  714.  
  715. Buffy moved to a chair beside the phone, waiting for Spike's call.
  716.  
  717. Finally, the phone rang.
  718.  
  719. "Show time," Buffy said, and picked up the phone.
  720.

  722.  
  723. Buffy and Jenny grabbed their stuff, getting ready to go.  Before they
  724. left, Buffy picked up two crossed.
  725.  
  726. "Here Ms. Calendar, you need one of these.  I want to be prepared, and I
  727. want you to be able to protect yourself," Buffy said handing Jenny a cross.
  728.  "Okay, the rest of you, we'll be back in a bit."  Buffy looked over at
  729. Giles, who seemed a bit nervous.  Impulsively, buffy gave Giles a hug.
  730. "Don't worry Giles, everything will be fine," Buffy whispered.
  731.  
  732. "Let's go Buffy," Ms. Calendar said.
  733.  
  734. "Okay, coming," Buffy replied.
  735.  
  736. "Good luck," everyone called out after them.
  737.  
  738. ***************

  740.  
  741. Angel lay in wait for Buffy, the same as the night before, calmly sitting
  742. in the corner.
  743.  
  744. She was, in fact, just outside the graveyard, quietly waiting until Ms.
  745. Calendar was ready.  Ms. Calendar was ready.  Ms. Calendar gave the signal.
  746.  Buffy went into the graveyard.
  747.  
  748. Angel came out of the shadows.
  749.  
  750. "Hi lover," Angel said.
  751.  
  752. "Can we skip the feeble banter, just for tonight?  I didn't come here to
  753. talk, I came here to fight," Buffy replied.
  754.  
  755. "Fine by me," Angel said.  Then he attacked.
  756.  
  757. Buffy was ready though, and she blocked his attack and got in two quick
  758. punched which left Angel a little off balance.  He waited as she attacked
  759. and he used her momentum to knock her backward, but in the process he got
  760. knocked backwards too.  Buffy was quicker on her feet and she kept him from
  761. getting up.
  762.  
  763. At the same time Ms. Calendar had come in and was speaking the words of the
  764. spell to leave him helpless.  Buffy had no clue what Ms. Calendar was
  765. actually saying, but she caught "Angelus" a couple of times.
  766.  
  767. Angel realized what was happening and started trying to get away, but Buffy
  768. managed to stop him, throwing him against the cemetary wall.
  769.  
  770. Jenny finished her chant and Angel fell to the ground.
  771.  
  772. "Done," Ms. Calendar announced.
  773.  
  774. "Great,' Buffy replied with a huge smile, "I'll grab him and let's go!"
  775.
