Love's Revival Part 1
"Angel, you must eat something. Come with us, we can find you
someone young and sweet."
"I'm not hungry, Dru!" Angel snapped and returned to his
thoughts.
Dru's smile faded to a pout as she accepted his rejection.
"Spike, I'm worried about Angel. He's growing weak; he hasn't eaten for
days.
"Don't be, my sweet. Angel's a big boy, he can handle himself.
Come now, we feed." Spike led Dru out of the bedroom. They left the
warehouse with several vampire minions following. Angel was sitting on
a chair in the corner of the room. He hadn't left that spot for days.
"Dammit Savarah! Why her?" Angel asked aloud, knowing that no
one could hear him.
***********
"Giles!" Willow screamed as she ran into the library.
"What? What is it?" Giles came rushing out of his office,
startled by her yelling.
"The new um..." Willow paused for a moment, realizing how
painful what she was about to say was going to be. 'No, stop. He has to
know. Buffy. She needs this, she needs him.' Willow gathered all her
confidence and continued to speak nervously. "The new computer science
teacher found this when she was cleaning up. I checked it out. It's
Angel's curse," she said, handing him a small yellow disk.
Giles was awestruck. His mind flashed between Jenny and Angel.
He closed his eyes as he tried to put her image out of his mind, but he
couldn't. It was too strong; their love was too strong. "Cure? Are
you sure?"
"Positive. If what this says is right, all we need is an orb
of Thesaluh, and Angel."
'Angel. That bastard killed Jenny. No!' Giles stopped his
accusations mid-thought. He knew it wasn't Angel. It was Angelus. He
also knew how easy it would be to blame Angel for what Angelus had done.

Love's Revival Part 3
"Buffy!" Giles walked down the stairs from the stacks. Buffy
entered the library, her friends trailing cautiously behind her. She
knew that they had something to hide, and she was going to find
out what.
"Giles, what's going on? We had this talk a long time ago. No
keeping secrets!" Her voice grew harsh as she approached Giles.
"Well, um, Buffy, we found something," Giles attempted to
explain.
"About what?"
"About Angel." Buffy could see the pain it caused him to even
mention his name. Angel. She couldn't stop thinking about him. His
eyes, his hair, his hands. The same hands he had used to kill Ms.
Calendar. The same hands that had held the bodies of all his helpless
victims.
"What about him?" She asked, trying to sound angry for Giles'
sake.
"We found a way to bring his soul back," Giles said painfully.
Buffy couldn't believe what he was saying; she didn't know whether to
be happy or angry. Angel was now two different people. One that she
loved, and one that she hated. After he had killed Ms. Calendar,
she'd wanted him dead. He was going to die and there was nothing
stopping her from doing it- nothing but her love for him. Buffy didn't
know how to handle this news; it was too much for her, after all that
had happened in the past week.
"I gotta go," Buffy said, tears pooling up in her eyes. She
ran out of the library leaving her friends standing in silence.
Everything had changed; Ms. Calendar's death, Savarah, Angel's cure-
it was too much for *all* of them to handle.
"I'm sure Buffy will be alright. You have to understand what
she's going through right now."
"Yeah, but Giles, she's keeping this bottled up like she
always does," Xander said, concerned for Buffy.
"I'll talk to her about it," Giles said placing a stack
of books on the table.
"Thanks Giles," Willow said, trying unconvincingly to sound
reassured.
"You two go to class. Tell Buffy I want to talk to her during
5th period. She's got a free; we'll talk about it then."
"Okay. Come on lets go," Xander said, slightly tugging at
Willow's shirt.
"Buffy!" Willow called as she spotted her across the quad.
"Hey, guys!" Buffy said as she approached them with a smile.
"Glad to see you're looking better," Xander said with a smile.
"Yeah, I'm doing okay." Buffy was constantly thinking about
Angel. About Savarah. She tried to hide the thoughts that plagued her,
but her friends knew better.
"Oh, Buffy, I almost forgot. Giles said he wants to see you
during your free period."
"Okay. Well, I've gotta get to Trig. Catch you later." Buffy
walked off, her face fading to a pale white as she suddenly felt sick
to her stomach. She ignored it and continued on to class.
**********
"Giles, look, I'm fine."
"Buffy, you were nearly killed. Do I have to remind you of what
happened the last time?
"I'm not going to make that mistake again. The last thing I
want to do is hurt my friends again. I'm fine. Savarah is dead, I'm
alive, and everything is just fine."
"Buffy, normally I would let you get away with that, but this
time it's not going to work. Angelus saving you from near death has to
be tearing you apart. Don't alienate your friends when you need them
the most."
"Yeah, can I go now?"
"Buffy, wh..."
"I gotta go Giles, I'm not feeling very well."
"Very well then. But we're not done here."
"Yeah." Buffy said quietly as she rushed out of the library;
her stomach was churning. She snuck out of school and walked home.
She stumbled up the stairs, her whole body aching; but she had barely
made it to the top of the stairs before she collapsed, unconscious.
End Part 3. Please let me know what you think.

Just a little not before I go on:
I realize that it's been quite a while since I sent out the last
part. April/May/June are fun months for me, and I have
dozens of things to do, so I can't make any guarantees
about the rest of the year. I'll *try.* I wrote this a long
while ago, and I thought I might as well send it before
it rots in my mailbox. Enjoy!

SUMMARY: Giles finally shows upàor does he?
Welcome to my story. It takes place ten years
into the future, but IÆm not telling you whatÆs happened in
advance. IÆm going to reveal that as time goes on in
the story. I love to get feedback, except when my
mailbox explodes, which is often, but send it anyway!

thatÆs because you havenÆt read the other parts. If you want

"Reunion," by Ingrid
Part Fourteen: "Uninvited Guest"
*********
Xander opened the door, expecting to be a buffer yet again.
Suddenly, he was everybodyÆs hero, and he wasnÆt so sure
he liked it.
What he was expecting, he couldnÆt say. Tired kind eyes behind
familiar spectacles. Instead, he saw only blackness beyond the door.
He turned the outside light on, but still all he saw were the bushes
and the snow-covered fountain lit up and far off.
One of the shadows moved.
"Hello?"
Nothing.
"Hello?"
"Xander." The voice froze him instantly. He didnÆt dare say it.
She looked up into the light and flinched. The curls sparkled like
rubies under it cascading into the darkness. Her blue eyes were
glistening with tears unshed, and the pink mouth was closed;
taught.
"Xander?"
She seemed to shake as she spoke. Every movement was tremulous
and agitated.
"Willow," he labeled her as a child labels the world around him.
He was waiting for a contradiction; a logical clarity that never came.
Instead, she turned her face away into the obscurity of the night and
said nothing.
"Willow?"
"Maybe this wasnÆt such a good idea."
"Howà"
"I donÆt know."
Suddenly bells went off in his head as he remembered the blur of
that dark night years ago. "Oh my God. No."
"Xander, I wouldnÆt have come here, but I think you could use
my help. Maybe I should go."
"No, Willà" He opened the door.
"You have to invite me in," she reminded him guiltily.
He backed away from the door slowly, not sure who to trust.
Sure, she looked like Willow, but hadnÆt Buffy been fooled
byà
"Xander?"
"Willow, how do I know that-"
She was quietly weeping on the porch now.
"I didnÆt meanà" He swallowed hard and looked back
at her eyes. Frightened. She probably could rip him to
shreds if she wanted to and she was frightened.
It had been his fault, and if she wasnÆt legit, this would
be his fault too.
But he opened the door and invited death in.
She waited for a moment and then stepped in slowly. She
looked cold and tired. Like sheÆd been running forever.
He almost jerked away from her as she was entering, but
held back with everything he had.
He was unprepared for her crushing embrace. She was
crying again now.
"IÆve missed you *so much*à"
He didnÆt know what to say, even when Cordelia came out
into the foyer.
"Willow," he whispered over the vampireÆs shoulder, and left
her to wonder.

I've often wondered that myself. Maybe it's a
collection of all Buffyfics sent in that day? I'd
really like to see my server manage to lose parts from
something like that! :)

Subject: BUFFYFIC: I have two questions...
1. This one is about length. Say I have a chapter that's, say, ten pages long
on my word processor. When I save it to text and import it, that's a
lottalotta lines. How should I label the parts of the chapter, then, when I
break them into 250-line pieces? (Because the list guidelines say no more than
250 lines per post). Would something like: (1a/20), (1b/20), etc, be
satisfactory? And if I were to do that, should it also say how many parts-of-
parts? So it would look like ([1a/a-d]/20, meaning "part one-a of parts one
thru d, of twenty"? Help! I have a long fic that I'm working on, but with the
way the chapters are they'll be longer than 250 lines and I'm stressing about
this!!!!
2. This one is a bit shorter. :) Being new to the list, I was just wondering
if you guys have ever tried doing a round-robin story or not, and if not, if
there's any interest in trying something like that, because I'd be willing to
coordinate it if there were.

DISCLAIMER: I don't own Buffy or any of the other wonderful characters in
the Buffyverse. I am using them without the permission of the people who
do own them who are not going to sue me because I am not making any money
off this. Joss Whedon, WB, Mutant Enemy, Kusui and Sandollar own the Buffy
characters.
DISTRIBUTION: Just ask.
RATING: Probably PG
FEEDBACK: I would love to know what you all think of this. Please send me
feedback. Pretty please. <sdouglas@camfordinfo.com>
SUMMARY: Okay, well this takes place while Ms. Calendar is still alive,
but Angel is evil, so probably Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered. It's
another "Angel gets his soul back" story which I wrote to convince myself
that Angel could be good again. It's kind of long and I'm sorry about that
you all.
AUTHOR'S MESSAGE: Yes, yes, I know it's been a while, but you try living in
my world for a week and see how much fic you can put out. Anyways, today
the thanks go out to Betzi for ego boosting. Major props to Candy too.
On with the show
The Cure (8/14)
Buffy arrived at the door and Willow opened it for her.
"How'd it go?" Willow asked.
"Okay, I did two quick stakes in the graveyard. No Angel sightings," Buffy
replied as they headed downstairs.
"Buffy! Did everything go alright?" Giles asked.
"Yeah, fine. Didn't see Angel. What's up here?"
"Well, I've been doing more research on Angel. Nothing we don't already
know. It's quite late Buffy. You and Willow should turn in. Everyone
else did. Xander's in Ox's room, Cordelia's in the living room. You and
Willow can sleep in there," Giles replied, picking up a different book.
"Giles, sleep. We don't have a major crisis right this second. Take the
opportunity to take a nap. You need sleep too," Buffy told him. Giles
smiled.
"I suppose you're right Buffy. Let me look through another book or two.
Then I'll go to sleep."
"Promise?"
"Alright, I promise."
"Night, Giles."
"Goodnight Buffy, goodnight Willow. Sleep well."
"Thanks Giles. You too," Buffy headed back up the stairs. Buffy quickly
charged into her PJs and got ready for bed. She got into one of the
makeshift beds Oz had set up. Willow turned to her.
"Buffy, are you really okay?" Willow asked, concerned for her friend.
"Yeah I'm okay. We're camping out at Oz's to protect us from Angel, who
switched to the other side because I made a big mistake. Yeah, I'm just
great."
"Buffy, it's not your fault. You didn't know it was going to happen. I
know I've said it before, but it's true," Willow said, trying to comfort
Buffy.
"Thanks Will. Hearing you say that kind of helps. Now go to sleep. You
need rest too."
"Okay. Night Buffy."
"Night Willow."
*****************
Angel stormed back to the warehouse, Drucilla in tow. He was not in a good
mood. He hadn't found Willow. He hadn't drained her of her blood. He
didn't have a present for the slayer.
"Did you get the slayer something nice? She's not going to fall apart
Angelus. She's going to come after you with a stake and then POOF! Angel
dust," Spike said when they came in.
"No, I didn't get her anything. I couldn't find the perfect gift. I don't
know what happened to her."
****************
Jenny woke up in a strange bed. She got out of bed right away, eager to
know if they had the spell. When she left the room, she saw Alice a little
way off.
"Alice," she called out. Alice turned.
"Good morning Janna," Alice replied, waiting for Jenny to catch up to her.
"Is there any news? Have they got the spell?" Jenny asked, eager and excited.
"The elderwoman said this morning that as soon as you woke up to bring you
to her. Come with me," Alice said, leading Jenny along.
"In there," Alice pointed to a room. Jenny smiled and went in.
"Ah, Janna, you are here. We have some work to do. By this evening, I
believe we will have the spell by tonight. Very, ver soon Angel will have
his soul. But now, there is work to be done."
****************
Buffy poured herself a cup of coffee. She smiled at everyone.
"Ah, sunlight, our old friend," Buffy said, sipping her coffee. Everyone
was sitting around the table.
"Guys, we need to pack up and move out. Oz, can we work out of here
tonight?" Buffy asked.
"Sure, that's fine."
"Okay guys, move everything into the basement. Try to keep everything as
inconspicuous as possible."
"Yes sir, general buffy sir!" Xander joked. Buffy smiled.
"Okay troops, move out."
****************
Jenny's day passed in a sea of research and old books. She, the elderwoman
and a few others of the tribe worked together, compiling magic. Many old
Romani spells were brought out. Long and careful work was carried out.
Finally, the elderwoman closed her book with a thud.
"We are finished. We have the spell. I will collect the necessary things.
Janna, we will leave in the morning. We will bring Alice, she had been
trained in magic. Now Janna, go to sleep. You will need much energy
tomorrow."
***************
At lunch, Buffy went to the library.
"Hey Giles."
"Hello Buffy. How was your morning?"
"Okay. Giles, am I strong enough? Be honest with me, am I strong enough
to beat Angle. Am I trained well enough?" Giles looked slightly shocked
at the question.
"Buffy, I have nothing but respect and admiration for you talent at
fighting. You have incredible skill. In saying that, we really have not
done very much training. I think that if you faced Angel now, you could
win. It's probable that you would win, but it could be close. Overall,
yes you're strong enough, you defeated the Master Buffy. That's no small
feat. Yes, you have the technical skill, but you have fought with Angel
and he knows how you fight," Giles replied. Buffy looked at Giles. She
thought for a few moments. She rubbed her temples and walked around the
library. Suddenly, she turned to Giles.
"Train me," she said, "I don't care how long it takes, I have to be able to
beat Angel."
End part 8

The digest version of the list collects the individual posts that are sent
to the list and sends them out when they reach a certain critical mass.
This is nice for people with small mailboxes-- they just get one (or a
couple more than one, if things are busy) post a day, rather than several
individual posts.
The content is exactly the same-- just formatted differently.
