  34. quickly, and I meant to send it to my editor, but somehow I ended up

  36. head against the desk repeatedly. Whatever anybody tells you, I am not

  66. SUMMARY: This takes place four years later while the Buffy gang is attending
  67. Montague University near Sunnydale. AngelÆs soul has been permanently
  68. restored, and he is 100% human. Jenny Calendar is still alive. Buffy will be
  69. getting a new Watcher.

  72. Vampire Slayer. They were created by Joss Wheden and are owned by 20th Century

  77.     Buffy slept fitfully. She woke up, startled, put her hand to her head. She
  78. reached over to her lamp, turned it on, and let out a sigh. She took her glass
  79. from her nightstand for a drink, but found it nearly empty. She got up to fill
  80. it.
  81. Buffy came out of her room holding the glass and walked down the hall. Behind
  82. her Drusilla stalked her. Buffy opened the door to the bathroom and suddenly
  83. found herself at the Bronze. A slow ballad, played. Buffy ventured 
  84. in.
  85. She found Oz sitting at a table with a large cup of cappuccino and 
  86. an organ grinder's monkey. To the monkey, he says, "L'hippo a pique' ses
  87. pantalons." (The hippo stole his pants.)
  88. The monkey on the table squeaked. Buffy walked up to the table and looked at
  89. Oz curiously. He smiled at her and waved. Buffy raised her hand back, but
  90. remained confused about the monkey.
  91. Buffy continued on and found her Xander holding a large cup and saucer. He saw
  92. her coming and turned to face her. "Do you really think you're ready, Buffy?"
  93. he asked.
  94. "What?"
  95. He dropped the saucer, and Buffy watched it fall. It shattered on the floor.
  96. He just turned and slowly walked away. Buffy watcheed him go, then looked
  97. around the room again.
  98. She walked past Oz again and through the crowd to the stage. It's empty, no
  99. band tonight. She turned around and smiled warmly. Angel and Willow stood at
  100. the pool table. He smiled and started toward her. Buffy began to walk toward
  101. him.
  102. Drusilla suddenly appeared behind Angel. She is vamped out, and thrusted a
  103. stake into his back and pulled it out. He arched backward in pain. 
  104. "ANGEL!"
  105. They reached out for each other. Before she could touch him his hand began to
  106. disintegrate to dust. The rings on his fingers fell to the floor. His body
  107. didnÆt explode like most vampires', but just crumbled to dust. Drusilla
  108. lowered the stake and took the few steps toward Willow. She sunk her fangs
  109. into WillowÆs neck and lowered the stake.
  110. "IÆm back, Buffy."
  111. "No, Willow! Angel!" she shrieked.
  112.     "Buffy, IÆm here." Buffy awoke, Angel lying next to her. "ItÆs okay. IÆm
  113. right here."
  114.     "Angel, it happened again, the dreams!"
  115.     "What dreams?"
  116.     "Remember when I almost 17 I had the dreams about you dying and Drusilla
  117. being alive? Then it all came true. Well, I had the exact same dream, just
  118. with different people. You and Willow died, and Drusilla was alive. Angel, I
  119. killed Drusilla three years ago. SheÆs alive again, and you and Willow are
  120. going to die die.  ItÆs a sign;  a sign that something terrible is going to
  121. happen again. Angel-" Tears fell down her red cheeks.
  122.     "Shh, shh. ItÆs going to be okay."
  123.     "You canÆt know that. You said it yourself at the docks, æWe canÆt be sure of
  124. anything.Æ Angel, I lost you once. I canÆt lose you again."
  125.     "And you wonÆt. I wonÆt let it happen. IÆll protect you."
  126.     "Angel, you canÆt. You couldnÆt protect me last time, and you canÆt protect
  127. me now. No one can stop this from happening; my dreams about the master came
  128. true. The dreams I had about you and Drusilla came true. Now these dreams will
  129. come true."
  130.     "WeÆll just talk to Gi-" he paused, "Willow. SheÆll be able to help you."
  131.     "Angel, this is her first day on the job. She hasnÆt been trained properly,
  132. and isnÆt ready for this."
  133.     "Buffy, Giles is gone. Willow is here. YouÆre going to have to learn to trust
  134. her as your Watcher, or your friendship is over."
  135.     "But how can I? Giles and Merrick were both so old, so experienced. And not
  136. just in their duties but in life. Willow is so much more unexperienced, so
  137. much younger. Hell, sheÆs even younger than I am. How can I just forget all
  138. about Giles and trust Willow like sheÆs as good as him?"
  139.     Willow appeared in the door way, "Thanks for having such confidence in me.
  140. Buffy, I thought I was your friend." She quickly turned away and ran down the
  141. hall."
  142.     "Oh, God, what have I done?"

  156. lot of the story, and I think it was much better.. so I was wondering if =

  158. didn't want to inflict an already read story upon the masses. :)  Let me =

  214. Summary: I have been spending way too much time thinking about Angel's 
  215. soul or lack thereof. That is not actually in the story but it is still 
  216. true. Anyway I was thinking way to much on how Angel will get his soul 
  217. back and I started thinking that it might be interesting if, say Willow 
  218. found the ritual and performed it but made a slight mistake and restored 
  219. the souls of everyone in the factory with Angel.  So I decided to see 
  220. what would happen.

  223. infringement intended. Please don't sue me I'm already up to my neck in

  231. "Angel, if you don't get over this self-pity gig and go to the meeting I 
  232. may just change my mind on your existence and finish you off" Buffy 
  233. stood glaring at her morose boyfriend. "That's why we started this 
  234. group, to help you all deal with what happened to you."
  235. "Butà"
  236. "Angel that's it, I'm going to the meeting, I'm in charge of snacks." 
  237. With that she stomped out of his apartment totally fed up with 
  238. him...again.

  240. Twenty minutes later she arrived at the library lugging two huge jugs 
  241. filled with red liquid. She proceeded to slam them onto the table and 
  242. throw herself into one of the softer chairs in the library. 
  243. "Angel still giving you problems?" Giles came into the library carrying 
  244. extra chairs from the gym. 
  245. "Giles, I don't get it, why won't he participate, everyone else is 
  246. finding it really helpful." Buffy stared at the table as if it knew the 
  247. answer and wasn't talking. (Incidentally it did know the answer and no 
  248. it wasn't talking). 
  249. "Angel already regained and lost his soul once before, it's probably 
  250. harder for him to accept that it happened again." With that Giles 
  251. dropped off his load of chairs and headed out for the next pile. Buffy 
  252. sat staring at the table for a while longer then got up and started 
  253. moving things out of the way for the chairs to be set up. Xander and 
  254. Cordelia came strolling in carrying stryofoam cups and paper plates. " 
  255. Hey Buff where's Angel, home sulking?" 
  256. Buffy just glared at him and continued setting up the chairs. After 
  257. their usual quick fight Xander and Cordelia came over to help. 
  258. "So, how many are we expecting for tonight, the usual twenty or has 
  259. Willow resouled more vamps so we can start our own chain of vampire 
  260. counseling centers and become filthy rich?" Xander smiled at his own 
  261. joke.

  263. "Xander, do we have to go through this every week, yes the normal twenty 
  264. will be here, and no of course Willow didn't do the ritual again, you 
  265. know the disc was bad and she lost half the ritual!" She stood there 
  266. glaring at him glad to have a focus for her frustration. 
  267. Cordelia finished putting the chairs in rows and turned back to them.
  268. "Buffy reallyàyou shouldn't get frustrated like that your face gets all 
  269. wrinkly and before you now it you're going to look way older than you 
  270. already are. And since your boyfriend is never going to age that is 
  271. something your going to want to hold off as long as possible."
  272.  
  273. "Gee thanks Cordy 'cause my dayàlife isn't already going bad enough." 
  274. Glaring at the both of them she grabbed the jugs of red liquid and 
  275. peered curiously at them,
  276.  "How am I supposed to be able to tell which one is which because I will 
  277. not be tasting it!"
  278. "I will."
  279. "Angel, you came!" Buffy smiled joyfully at him while Xander and 
  280. Cordelia stared at him surprised. 
  281. "So deadboy comes out of hiding, glad to see you again, which is as much 
  282. of a surprise to me as I'm sure it is to you."
  283. "Thanks Xander, although I must admit I was counting on you to convince 
  284. Buffy she should dump me so I could go back to the whole brooding guilt 
  285. thing." 
  286.  
  287. "I tried man, I triedàI even tried to get her to stake you but no such 
  288. luck." Xander peered anxiously at Angel to see how he would handle a 
  289. little teasing and was relieved to see Angel staring at him with his ' I 
  290. could kill you' look.  Xander just smiled at him and went back to 
  291. arranging the library while Angel taste-tested the jugs. 
  292. "Buffy, where did you get this junk?" Angel was staring at her with a 
  293. very pained look on his face. 
  294.  
  295. "Willie, he said it was fresh stuff" Buffy replied.
  296.  
  297. "Freshà. This was fresh when I was human, I'll go get some more, this 
  298. stuff could cause a vamp to fall off the no human wagon."
  299.  Angel then did his thing where he wasn't there as they all stood around 
  300. thinking a joke, did no fun, guilt-ridden Angel actually attempt a joke. 
  301. Admittedly a lame joke but still a joke. Simultaneously they then 
  302. decided that no he probably actually meant it. With a group sigh they 
  303. all went back to what they were doing.
