  30. do own them who are not going to sue me because I am not making any money
  31. off this.  Joss Whedon, WB, Mutant Enemy, Kusui and Sandollar own the Buffy

  41. SUMMARY:  Okay, well this takes place while Ms. Calendar is still alive,
  42. but Angel is evil, so probably Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered.  It's
  43. another "Angel gets his soul back" story which I wrote to convince myself
  44. that Angel could be good again.  It's kind of long and I'm sorry about that
  45. you all.  Well, enough with the talk, on with the show.
  46.

  48. fun.  Thanks also goes to Candy, just for being her evil self.

  52. The Cure (4/14)
  53.  
  54. Buffy locked the door of her house behind her and she and Willow started
  55. walking back to school.  They both had their arms crossed over their
  56. chests, as if trying to protect themselves.
  57.  
  58. They walked together in silence.  A cold breeze brushed them.
  59.  
  60. "I'm so glad the sun's still out," Willow said.
  61.  
  62. "Yeah, we know when the sun goes down, the scaries come out," Buffy
  63. replied, quickly checking to make sure the stake she always carried with
  64. her was there.  Willow saw the motion and knowing that Buffy had a stake
  65. comforted Willow.
  66.  
  67. Buffy was worried about Angel. <<I hate putting my friends in danger!>> she
  68. thought. <<How can I protect them?>> she wondered.  Buffy knew she couldn't
  69. always be with them. <<I need to figure out a way for them to protect
  70. themselves.>> Buffy thought over her options, she could try to teach them
  71. some self-defence, but it would take a while to teach them enough to really
  72. be able to protect themselves and until they were good any vampire would
  73. still be stronger.  Crosses were good, but any vampire would just knock it
  74. out of their hands. <<If only we had something like pepper spray,>> Buffy
  75. thought.
  76.  
  77. "That's it!" Buffy exclaimed.  Willow turned to her.
  78.  
  79. "What's it?" Willow asked.
  80.  
  81. "Nothing Will.  Ummm. . . are you okay to go the rest of the way to school
  82. by yourself?  There's something I've got to do," Buffy explained.
  83.  
  84. "Yeah, I'll be fine.  There's still a few hours of sunlight," Willow
  85. replied, looking at Buffy.  Willow hesitated, then added, "Buffy?  Just
  86. promise you'll be quick."
  87.  
  88. "I promise, I'll be quick," Buffy smiled.  She leaned over and gave Willow
  89. a hug.  
  90.  
  91. "And Buffy?  Be careful."
  92.

  95. Willow felt a wave of relief as she reached the school.  She walked toward
  96. the library.  She started to jog, she wanted to get there as quickly as
  97. possible.  Willow opened the door to the library and felt comfort in seeing
  98. Xander and Giles.

  100. "Willow," Giles said with relief, then added, "Where's Buffy?"
  101.  
  102. "I'm not sure.  She said she had to do something, but she promised she'd be
  103. here soon," Willow said.  Oz came out from Giles' office.  He saw Willow
  104. and he gave her a hug.
  105.  
  106. "How are you doing?" Oz asked Willow.
  107.  
  108. "I'm okay," Willow replied.  "Umm, Giles, can Angel come into the library?"
  109.  
  110. "Yes, I suppose he can come in here.  Why?"  Giles replied, looking a
  111. little puzzled at the question.
  112.  
  113. "Well, when we're doing research here at night, lots of times Buffy's out
  114. slaying.  Angel could attack us then," Willow elaborated.
  115.  
  116. "Oh dear, I'd never thought of that.  We need to find another base of
  117. operation," Giles said.
  118.  
  119. "Okay, we need to find another HQ.  My question is where?" Xander asked.
  120.  
  121. "We can work at my place," Oz volunteered.
  122.  
  123. "What about your parents?" Giles asked.
  124.  
  125. "Oh, no sweat.  I'm in the basement, they won't even know."
  126.  
  127. Suddenly, the door opened.  Everyone whipped around to face the door.
  128. Buffy smiled at everyone and said:

  130. "Look what I've got."

  134. Jenny was cruising along the highway with a song in her heart.  She was
  135. almost at the place her tribe was camped.  She saw the sign for her turn
  136. and got off the highway.  She took the turns to where they were camped.
  137. She saw the camp right ahead of here.  She turned of the ignition and got out.

  158. SUMMARY: This takes place four years later while the Buffy gang is attending
  159. Montague University near Sunnydale. AngelÆs soul has been permanently
  160. restored, and he is 100% human. Jenny Calendar is still alive. Buffy will be
  161. getting a new Watcher.

  170.     Willow nearly fainted at the news of her becoming Watcher. "ThereÆs got to be
  171. some mistake. I, I canÆt be the Watcher! The Watcher is a guy, and a, a
  172. bookworm, and someone who isnÆt me. IÆm too young, and  IÆd be a horrible
  173. Watcher. Pick someone else."
  174.     Giles said, "Willow, I canÆt pick someone else. You arenÆt to young, and even
  175. thought there havenÆt been female Watchers in the past, it doesnÆt say that
  176. there cannot be one. The Watcher must be twenty one years of age, and you
  177. turned twenty one last week. With the proper training, youÆll be perfectly
  178. ready."
  179.     Buffy sat in shock and thought. //This canÆt be happening. WillowÆs my
  180. friend, not my Watcher. She canÆt be both; itÆs impossible. How can she train
  181. me when she has not nearly as much strength and experience as Giles?//

  183.     Giles didnÆt even let Willow have the rest of the day to adjust. He brought
  184. her directly to the library to start training, for time was running out. They
  185. worked on training techniques the whole day since that is what Willow needed
  186. the most work on.
  187.     "Okay, Willow, I want you to attack me."
  188.     "Giles, I canÆt, I donÆt know how to fight."
  189.     "Just try."
  190.     Unconfidently, she started to attack. She threw a punch at him, which he
  191. easily blocked. She tried kicking him, but he knocked her down onto the floor.
  192. As her head hit the ground, a dreamlike state came over her. First, she was
  193. teaching a medival Slayer how to read. Next, she was showing a African-
  194. American slave Slayer new battle techniques. Then she was Merrick, watching
  195. Buffy do cartwheels on a mat in HemeryÆs gym. Finally, she was KendraÆs
  196. Watcher, telling her about a great evil happening in Sunnydale.
  197.     She woke up and jumped to her feet quickly. She kicked Giles in the gut and
  198. sent him flying across the room. She punched him in the jaw and tripped him.
  199. He fell over and just lay there.
  200.     "Omigod, Giles!" she cried. "IÆm so, so sorry. Are you okay?"
  201.     "Yes, IÆll, IÆll be fine. I see youÆve found the Watcher strength."
  202.     "The what?"
  203.     "Though Slayer has strength she is born with, the Watcher does not. He or she
  204. must find the strength within themselves. Once discovered, you will not lose
  205. it until you are no longer Watcher. Unfortunately, knowledge only comes from
  206. reading the texts and diaries. You must study them day and night."
  207.     "Giles, what just happened to me now, something similar happened to me last
  208. night in my dreams. I, I was the Watcher for several different Slayers."
  209.     "ThatÆs supposed to happen. Similar to the Slayer dreams. I want you to take
  210. these home." He handed her five large books. "These are the first Watcher
  211. diaries. I want you to read as much as you can tonight and tomarrow. WeÆre
  212. late on your training. Thus, we must make up for lost time." Willow started to
  213. leave. "Oh, and you are welcome to anything in here that you might need."
  214.     "Thank you, Gilesàfor everything."
  215. *****
  216.     Brrrng. Brrrrng. Brrrng. "Come on, pick up the phone." 
  217.     The answering machine went on. "You have reached Rupert Giles at 555-7529. I
  218. am unable to answer the phone right now. Please leave your name, number and
  219. message at the beep. I will get back to you as soon as possible."
  220.     "Rupert, itÆs Jenny. My water just broke. Meet me down at Sunnydale General
  221. A.S.A.P. DonÆt worry about a thing. Cordelia was with me and sheÆs giving me a
  222. ride. Love you. Bye."
