"Footsteps"
by Ingrid
Part Two
*************
Months and months- gelatin in a cage. She felt boneless now, barely
moving at all for days at a time. He always came. Every other day,
he'd feed her, try to get her to talk for about an hour, give up, and
then
leave. She was getting curious, though. It was becoming more and
more difficult not to answer his questions, or to comment on his
observations. At times, she'd even began a reply. He'd look interested
then, his blue eyes sparking up, but then she would again sink back
into her limbo, which was as real a world as any at this point.
She'd studied the patterns of the floor thousands of times. Other than
that, there wasn't much to do other than sleep. She'd slept for the
majority of the time she'd been here out of sheer boredom. How long
had she been here? Weeks? Months? Years?
Today was no different than the rest of the times she'd been here.
She'd traced the familiar concrete below the suspended prison, and
then slept some more. It was dark again when she woke up.
His steps were familiar. She could hear the pattern in her head. *Click,
click, click*
He didn't bother to speak, and the ritual was over quickly. He emptied
the glass down her throat, and sat on the box, merely watching her still
figure.
"How would you like it if I said I'd let you out of there tonight?"
She wanted to speak- to say something, but she remained silent out of
habit. She heard the sigh she'd heard everyday for the past million
years, as she'd begun to think it, and once again the footsteps.
"Wait!" she cried between echoes. The voice was unfamiliar- raspy
and dry and old from disuse. She wondered if he'd heard her, and then
again whether she'd even said it. There was silence, and something
compelled her to try again.
"Spike? I'd like it."
The footsteps returned and grew closer. She sighed. Getting out of the
cage suddenly seemed like the first real desire she'd had since-
There was a noise, and slowly, she felt herself being lowered. The
cage was several feet off the ground when he'd stopped and secured
the crank. There was a resounding click, and then a squeak as the
gate swung open. She pulled herself up on her knees awkwardly.
The pain took her by surprise. Easing forward, she crawled to the
edge. Spike was waiting below, his arms outstretched. She reached
out, and let him pull her out and lower her to the ground. Her head was
swimming as she felt her feet hit the pavement. She was facing him
now, still being supported.
"You alright?" he asked, looking into her eyes.
She tried to nod convincingly. As he moved his arms away,
though, she collapsed. He grabbed her before she could go far. She
clung to his neck for dear life, her doe eyes dazed, startled. Spike
pulled at her waist.
"That's what you get for not moving in a month," he chided
good-humoredly.
She smiled and let herself go in his arms, studying his pale face
afresh. Bleached hair, fair complexion; he had some sort of innocence,
sanity. Humanity. He smiled back at her curiously, content that she'd
shown some sign of feeling.
Suddenly they were both quiet, staring at each other awkwardly, all
smiles vanishing. Spike's face grew serious, and his light eyes
sobered quickly. They stood for a bit, trapped in a spell that
hadn't existed a few moments ago.
Seconds clicked away like footsteps, echoing throughout the room.
Embarrassingly and loudly, time went on. Willow's face felt hot. Did
vampires blush?
Spike cleared his throat, dispersing the magic in an instant. "I'm gonna
have to carry you," he observed, lifting her easily. They passed
through one cold room after another, finally ending up in a nicer room.
It was small, but there was a lacy bed in the center that looked like
heaven compared to her previous abode. He set her down gingerly,
watching her eyes the entire time. She smiled shyly, sitting up against
the soft pillows, and yawned. That she couldn't help. Her eyes were
heavy, and her muscles sore even from the minor exertion.
"I don't come in here much anymore," he explained, pulling the covers
back, "I thought you might be more comfortable."
"Thank you," she sighed, eyes already closing. She crawled under the
covers and felt him tuck them about her. She knew there were
footsteps as he left, but she was too tired to hear them.

Subject: BUFFYFIC: Restoration Part Three of ????
The following is the third part in an on going story I am writing. The
characters do not belong to me, they belong to Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy
Productions, Warner Bros and all those associated with BTVS. I am not
making money off of this, and no copyright infringment was intended.
This gets angsty in parts... know that Giles' reactions are the subject
of my own reactions to some news I received recently similar to this
situation. They are honest emotions, and I suppose I am using this
story as a forum for my feelings, however, I believe this all fits
together. I don't know where this story is going or where it will end,
so I'll just keep writing and posting until the end makes it's presence
known. Please forward all comments to Lea at either lfox@continuum.org
or angelslover@geocities.com . Thanks for reading, and enjoy!

Restoration ~ Part Three
Buffy hesitated at the stairs leading to the library. Yes,
Giles had helped return Angel's soul... willingly according to Willow,
but facing him now... Ack.. it was almost too much.
She turned to look over her shoulder, Angel was watching her
from the far end of the street. He smiled reassuringly, a warm smile
the likes of which Buffy had been missing for too long.
The strength it took for Angel to smile so at her when she knew that
deep down his soul was eating itself away with the guilt of what
his body had done gave Buffy the strength she needed to climb those
stairs. One by one she climbed until she stood at the library door.
Her fingers gently caressed the door knob, but one last look at Angel
as he disappeared into the night propelled her forward. With a deep
breath, Buffy crossed the threshold into Giles' territory.
The first thing to strike her was the overwhelming silence of
the building. Of course, as a library, it had always been a quiet
place, but tonight something had changed. It was almost as though
something had died, something that wasn't just Jenny Calendar, but
something vital to the very essence of the building. Something Giles
put into the air with his mere presence. Something burried so deep
within him that Buffy hadn't noticed, until it was gone. Until now.
Silently she lowered her aching body into a chair and listened
to the nothing commanding her attention. There she stayed until
something shifted on the second level. Her eyes rose to meet those of
the ragged man before her. Giles sighed.
"How long were you planning on remaining?" His voice was without tone.
"As lnog as it takes to talk to you."
He shrugged. "Talk all you like; it matters not."
Buffy chewed nervously on her lip as she flicked her eyes away. "I...
I have to thank you." she murmered quietly.
Giles turned his back to her, making as though he were searching
through the rows of books. "Don't. If I'd had my initial choice Angel
would be dead now, only his body would have turned to dust. Not like
Jenny's. Do you know what Jenny is doing right now, Buffy? Do you?"
The girl blinked, her voice breaking. "I.. I.. don't... ah... I.."
The watcher's fist drove into the shelf sending books flying in every
direction. Buffy jumped. "Rotting, Buffy. Jenny is in a grave, six
feet under the ground, rotting! Her beautifu eyes.. gentle hands...
smiling lips... its all gone." A sob broke over him, his shoulders
shaking as he supported himself against the shelf. "All gone..."
Her heart broke for her tortured friend, knowing, not exactly, but
still knowing through what he was suffering. "Giles... not everything
is gone. You still have us... you'll always have me. I swear."
"You swear." His voice grew harsh. "Yes, you swear. You
swear as you leave to fight vampires, demons, hell spawn.. all of it..
that you will always return. So have all the other slayers, my dear,
and you know what happened to them? The oldest slayer recorded was
nineteen, Buffy, nineteen. Three years she managed to stay alive
before she was finally slain herself. How long do you think you will
last? Tell me that!"
Her eyes welled up with tears. "Giles, what are you saying?"
He sighed, his voice calming. "The only things that I ever believed to
be eternal were love and our battle against the dark forces. When Jenny
died, love died. All there is now is the war and..."
"And?"
"Silence."
************************
A tapping on Willow's sliding door. The girl jerked in her chair,
terrified of turning around to see what she knew she would. The tapping
again. She turned.
Angel stood outside, his head hung in shame as Willow moved to open the
door. Her fingers shook as she undid the lock, sliding the
door back, removing the only barrier between them. He made no move
towards her.
"I left Buffy at the library; there was something I had to do without
her." Angel's voice was low.
Willow swallowed, "Having to do with the involving of my neck?"
He slowly shook his head, "No, Willow?"
Her eyes grew wide, her voice weak. "Some other body part? 'Cause you
know, my body isn't perfect but I have formed a bond with it over the
last seventeen years... a change now could destroy that bond.. and I
rather am comfortable as it stands now..."
He sighed. "I'm not going to hurt you, Will, or kill you, or bite you,
or torture you. You have my word."
"Then what?"
"Give me your hands."
She took a step backwards. "Ah.. I would but actually they're really
quite happy where they are.. at the ends of my arms.. not in a
box being sent to Buffy's... that would be really not cool."
He shook his head. "Just hold your hands out... please."
Willow's hands edged out so that they lay flat, palms upwards, mere
inches in front of Angel. She closed her eyes and turned her head, a
grimace of expectant pain spreading across her features.
The pain did not come. A light weight was rested into her
hands, his cold fingers only slightly brushing her warm ones. A breath
of air followed, and Willow could have sworn she heard an apology on
that light wind. She opened her eyes. Angel was gone.
Laying in her hands was a small, clear plastic bag, filled with warm
water. Swimming calmly in that water was a stunningly beautiful angel
fish. Willow smiled softly. Angel really had returned.
She moved over to her aquarium, opening the top of the bag and gently
released the new fish into the water. She decided his name
would be Future.
***********************
"If you're so hell bent on making Angel pay for Ms. Calendar's death,
why'd you go and help us?" Buffy lay her head down on the table in both
exasperation and exhaustion.
"A tribe of wiser elders cannot be wrong, Buffy. Who am I to go
against their decision of a century ago? I decided that perhaps Angel
would indeed be better off suffering the agonies of a guilt ridden life
rather than the painfree existance of death."
"Oh. I see."
Giles sighed at the obvious tone of dissapointment in her voice.
"Buffy, I will not hold it against you should you decide to continue
your liasons with him. Mind you, I would prefer in the future not
having to discuss Angel, your relationship, or have any dealings with
him what so ever unless it absolutely cannot be helped. Is this
understood?"
She nodded silently.
"Go home, Buffy, or go see him, or go to the Bronze. I really
do not care. Just please, leave me now."
"We won't break the spell this time, Giles."
"Buffy."
"I'm going. I just wanted you to know that we will be careful."
"Buffy!" His tone was harsh and angry, but as her eyes filled once
again with tears, he gentled. "Just go and try to be happy, I will not
ever deny you that. There is nothing you can do to help me."
"Maybe one day..."
He shook his head. Slowly Buffy got to her feet and moved to
the door. She looked over her shoulder and opened her mouth to speak.
Giles disappeared behind the bookshelves once more.
"Good night, Buffy." His tone was final.
She sighed.

"Footsteps" by Ingrid
Part Three
**********************
Months, heÆd told her. It had been months since the beginning of this
life. She was slowly gaining her strength back. Her new room was
comfortable, and she was now free to wander about the warehouse without
help. She slept less, spent more time thinking, spent more time with
him.
SheÆd been able to shower.
Not a real shower of course- it had been an emergency water valve in a
cramped room at the back of the warehouse, but the icy cold water had
been a godsend. Spike had finally opened DruÆs overstuffed closet.
Dozens
of frilly dresses popped out in a burst of color as heÆd opened the
doors
and released all the stored pressure. She saw the pain in his eyes
before
he turned away and left the room brusquely. Something had happened, she
knew. He hadnÆt talked about Dru at all since theyÆd left. Willow hadnÆt
felt right mentioning it either. SheÆd just avoided the whole subject,
sensing that it would do more harm than good to try.
She put on the dress, changing as quickly as she could to escape the
cold air. The lily white silk was smooth and delicate. She wobbled a bit
as she put the shoes on and then searched for a something to pull back
her hair with. The drawer was musty, but there were a few shiny clips
inside. She chose the pearl ones, drawing her still-drying hair up at the
sides and out of her face.
Spike looked stunned when she walked out into the main room. He didnÆt
say anything at first.
Her hair was curly now, not having the advantage of a blow-dryer. She
might have been Dru, if not for her bright auburn hair and smaller
stature.
She smiled at him, and decided now was as good a time as any. Slow,
even paces brought her to his side.
"Spike?" She was bearding the lion in his den now, and it was making her
more than a little nervous. "What happened to Drusilla?"
He had been looking down, but his head snapped up to stare her directly
and defiantly in the face. He was stricken, and taken unaware, his body
sprung like a coil, or a tiger ready to pounce.
She shrunk back almost imperceptibly. Then as quickly as it had come, it
passed. He let out a tired sigh and leaned against a broken-down conveyor
belt.
"The last time I checked, *Drusilla* was with Angelus." Sarcastic
defense-mechanism, she noted, but waited for him to continue. She
knew he would.
"Meant to be, I suppose. After all, he is her sire, and who am I to stand
in the way of a relationship like *that*? To put it simply, they never
came back." He forced a dry laugh. "Ah, who cares anyway? To hell
with them."
"You loved her," she said, prying just a bit more, just waiting for the
lid to
snap shut.
It didnÆt. Spike wasnÆt Angelus. He wasnÆt like any of the other vampires
sheÆd seen before, but then again, neither was she. She didnÆt know what
sheÆd expected anyway. She felt like herself in some ways, but in othersà
"Yes. I loved her. God knows why. She was nothing more than a shell by
then, but I couldnÆt stop."
Willow touched his shoulder cautiously. "Did you know her before-"
"Before I was changed? Yes. SheÆd been able to love back then." He
paused, reliving a memory or two. She watched the light and dark play on
his face. "So sweet." His voice was resigned as he studied the floor. He
looked up and faced her. "Of course Angelus changed all that."
She let silence dance without interruption.
"Sometimes she would look at me, and for a moment, it would be like
nothing had changed. And I felt I had toà She was so weakà"
"You wanted to stay with her."
"What would she have done? At the beginning, she couldnÆt even get
out of bed. I suppose I should be thankful. TheyÆre probably feasting
in Ireland somewhere together. He was always able to make her
happy."
"What about you?"
"I want her to be taken care of. She is. SheÆs fine. IÆve fulfilled my
duty."
"It was more than a duty."
"ItÆs over." He looked up again, but this time, he didnÆt look so upset.
In fact, he looked as if he were contemplating some remote possibility in
the study of her face. "Red hair. ItÆs nice. The stuff of bad vampire
novels, but nice," he laughed, lightening the mood.
She smiled in response, patting her hair down at the sides. Her stomach
growled restlessly.
He nodded and laughed again, having heard it too. "Guess itÆs lunchtime."
Their footsteps interchanged an easy syncopation as they quit the room.

Summary: Angel's soul visits the group.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The small group entered the library to find a site they never thought they'd
see. Angel or Angel's soul sat in one of the chairs silently starring at a
book.
The site was amazing. His body was a white aura almost transparent with a
light tinge of blue along the edges. The site was to say the least etheral.
Angel quickly dispersed the thought of the book & stood up upon the
groups arrival.
"Angel." Buffy whispered.
He only smiled & starred at her. He looked so sad.
Buffy ran to him on impulse to throw herself into his arms, but ran right
through him. He turned around to face her.
"I can't hold you Buffy or touch you. I can only speak & look at you." he
answered her unasked question.
Buffy started crying. Angel gave Xander a silent look conveying with his
eyes for Xander to comfort her. Xander nodded & silently walked over to
Buffy and hugged her to him.
"I have something for you." Angel directed to Giles. "On the table. The
white envelope. Don't read it until your alone." Angel instructed.
Giles walked over to the table & picked up the envelop. On the front
said Rupert. He recognized the handwriting.
Giles gasped, "this is from her?" he asked
Angel nodded, "she says to tell you she loves you." he whispered.
"I'm sorry." Angel voice filled with sorrow & guilt.
"It's not your fault." Willow spoke to him.
"Isn't it?" he asked her. "If I'd never come here none of this would've
happened." Angel informed.
"As much as I hate to say this, if you hadn't come here we'd all be
dead at some point." Xander told him.
"Maybe." Angel contemplated. "Buffy I have something for you as well.
It's the book I was looking at. It's for you . I want you to know
my thoughts and feelings. The ones I never had the nerve to tell you."
Angel looked into her teary eyes. He stepped towards her & grazed her
cheek with his hand. Buffy gasped and felt a warm feeling of peace pass
over her.
"I don't understand why you won't kill him." Angel confided.
"If I kill him there's no way of bringing you back." Buffy informed.
"But it's ok to hold out while he kills more innocent people? I'm not
worth it Buffy. Don't let him kill more of your friends. In the end it's not
worth it. You'll resent me and I wouldn't be able to handle that. You
don't deserve this pain. Don't let him do to you what he did to Drusilla."
Angel pleaded.
"My life isn't worth living without you in it." Buffy sobbed.
"Don't ever say that. I'll always be with you. If not physically then
spiritually." Angel comforted her.
He turned towards the group once again. "I just wanted to see for myself
that you all were alright." Angel informed.
"Just for the record you will always have a place here Angel. He on the
other hand I'll rip to shreds if I get my hands on him." Giles gritted his
teeth.
"I'm looking foward to it. I'll laugh while he turns to dust. Just remember
fear motivates him. He thrives on pain and torture. Don't give him the
satisfaction." Angel spoke to everyone.
"I have to go. I'm thinking about paying him a visit." Angel quirked a half
smile.
As he passed Buffy he lightly kissed her on the forehead or what looked
like he did & whispered in her ear, "I love you Buffy. Always remember that.
No regrets?" he asked hopefully.
"I love you to. No regrets." Buffy whispered.
"You were incredible. I'm just sorry I couldn't be there for you afterwards."
Angel whispered a last time.
He gently took his hand from her cheek & faded out of sight.
"Willow you might want to feed the fish when you get home." Willow
heard him call before he disappeared.
"My fish are...oh." she smiled. "You didn't have to do that Angel."
Buffy walked towards the table and picked up the forgotten book Angel
was looking at. It had no title. It was small and thick and encased in
brownish leather and rimmed with gold borders. She opened the cover.
"It's his journal." Buffy informed. "There's entries from the very first time
we met until the last.... Oh, Angel." she whispered. "I think I'm going to
go home and do a little reading." Buffy told the group with small smile.
"Yes, I think I'll do that as well." Giles agreed & looked longingly at the
envelope he was clutching close to his heart. "A very good idea indeed."
he whispered to no one in particular.
The site was amazing. His body was a white aura almost transparent with a
light tinge of blue along the edges. The site was to say the least etheral.
Angel quickly dispersed the thought of the book & stood up upon the
groups arrival.
"Angel." Buffy whispered.
He only smiled & starred at her. He looked so sad.
Buffy ran to him on impulse to throw herself into his arms, but ran right
through him. He turned around to face her.
"I can't hold you Buffy or touch you. I can only speak & look at you." he
answered her unasked question.
Buffy started crying. Angel gave Xander a silent look conveying with his
eyes for Xander to comfort her. Xander nodded & silently walked over to
Buffy and hugged her to him.
"I have something for you." Angel directed to Giles. "On the table. The
white envelope. Don't read it until your alone." Angel instructed.
Giles walked over to the table & picked up the envelop. On the front
said Rupert. He recognized the handwriting.
Giles gasped, "this is from her?" he asked
Angel nodded, "she says to tell you she loves you." he whispered.
"I'm sorry." Angel voice filled with sorrow & guilt.
"It's not your fault." Willow spoke to him.
"Isn't it?" he asked her. "If I'd never come here none of this would've
happened." Angel informed.
"As much as I hate to say this, if you hadn't come here we'd all be
dead at some point." Xander told him.
"Maybe." Angel contemplated. "Buffy I have something for you as well.
It's the book I was looking at. It's for you . I want you to know
my thoughts and feelings. The ones I never had the nerve to tell you."
Angel looked into her teary eyes. He stepped towards her & grazed her
cheek with his hand. Buffy gasped and felt a warm feeling of peace pass
over her.
"I don't understand why you won't kill him." Angel confided.
"If I kill him there's no way of bringing you back." Buffy informed.
"But it's ok to hold out while he kills more innocent people? I'm not
worth it Buffy. Don't let him kill more of your friends. In the end it's not
worth it. You'll resent me and I wouldn't be able to handle that. You don't
deserve this pain. Don't let him do to you what he did to Drusilla."
Angel pleaded.
"My life isn't worth living without you in it." Buffy sobbed.
"Don't ever say that. I'll always be with you. If not physically then
spiritually." Angel comforted her.
He turned towards the group once again. "I just wanted to see for myself
that you all were alright." Angel informed.
"Just for the record you will always have a place here Angel. He on the
other hand I'll rip to shreds if I get my hands on him." Giles gritted his
teeth.
"I'm looking foward to it. I'll laugh while he turns to dust. Just remember
fear motivates him. He thrives on pain and torture. Don't give him the
satisfaction."
Angel spoke to everyone.
"I have to go. I'm thinking about paying him a visit." Angel quirked a half
smile.
As he passed Buffy he lightly kissed her on the forehead or what looked like
he did & whispered in her ear, "I love you Buffy. Always remember that.
No regrets?" he asked hopefully.
"I love you to. No regrets." Buffy whispered.
"You were incredible. I'm just sorry I couldn't be there for you afterwards."
Angel whispered a last time.
He gently took his hand from her cheek & faded out of sight.
"Willow you might want to feed the fish when you get home." Willow heard
him call before he disappeared.
"My fish are...oh." she smiled. "You didn't have to do that Angel."
Buffy walked towards the table and picked up the forgotten book Angel was
looking at. It had no title. It was small and thick and encased in brownish
leather and rimmed with gold borders. She opened the cover.
"It's his journal." Buffy informed. "There's entries from the very first time
we
met until the last.... Oh, Angel." she whispered. "I think I'm going to go
home and do a little reading." Buffy told the group with small smile.
"Yes, I think I'll do that as well." Giles agreed & looked longingly at the
envelope he was clutching close to his heart. "A very good idea indeed."
he whispered to no one in particular.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Giles paid no heed to where his jacket landed as he went and sat himself on
the couch in his apartment. He took deep breaths before he get the nerve up to
open the letter. Finally he was brave enough. He opened the top flap of the
envelop and pulled out a neatly folded letter. He unfolded it and begen to
read.
Dear Rupert,
I guess I need to get some things out into the open. First of all I love you.
I'm sorry I never got to tell you that. This place I'm in now it's so peaceful
and happy. There's no evil, hate, or darkness. It's perfect, except for the
fact that you aren't with me, but you will be one day and I'll wait for you.
I still can't express how sorry I am that all of this happened, but I did try
to undo my mistake.The night Angelus killed me I deciphering a cure to
return his soul. The downfall was that Angelus found out and wasn't to
happy about it. He trashed the computer and burned the printouts, but I
did manage to save it disk. A yellow disk somewhere in the classroom.
Finish what I started Rupert. Give Angel his soul back and let him and Buffy
be together. Angel's been nothing but nice to me here and I want to repay
him. He misses her so much and I know she misses him. Angel knows
about this and he says if you decide not to do it he understands it's a
choice you all need to make as a group. Just remember that Angel and
Angelus are two different beings. Angelus is our enemy, Angel is our friend.
I just wanted to tell you that I'm happy were I am, and that nothing can hurt
me anymore. I'll watch over you and always think about you. Don't forget me,
Rupert because I won't forget you.
Love
Always,
Jenny
Calendar
"I won't ever forget you Jenny because I love you to. Be happy my love."
Giles whispered.
Giles took the letter and put it away safely in the desk draw, then picked
up the telephone and dialed Buffy's number.
"Hello." Buffy greeted.
"Buffy It's Giles I have some news."

I'll be waiting. (Impatiently, considering how good THIS story was.)
An idea: Angelus follows Jack and company back to Chicago and stages
a raid on the Vault, making off with several items. (BTW, isn't the
Vault situated over ANOTHER Hellmouth? IIRC, there was a family of
demon hunters who were nearly tricked into opening it. The good guys
won, sealed it, and used the extra space to expand the Vault.)
> RATING: R. Buffy does things that are a little cruel--but to vampires.
Well now, that's her job, isn't it? 8-)=

Here it is. As someone else has already said, it was certainly a
"kick ass" fanfic. I've been waiting for someone to do this xover
for a long time (like you said, it's a natural), and even hinted at
a connection between Giles and Jack in one of my unfinished ones. I
was REALLY glad you chose to avoid any innocent casualties; it made
a refreshing change from the way F13 stories usually go. (Once is
enough though; to be true to F13, the sequel will need a higher body
count.) The characterizations were right on (I could actually SEE
Buffy getting steadily more obsessed), and the climax was PERFECT.
> DISTRIBUTION: Ask first.
Could I forward your story to the <alt.tv.buffy-v-slayer.creative>
newsgroup? It could really use material of this caliber. 8-)=

I am writing this with the intent of getting major feedback. In such a
case, this is only a trail. Yes, IÆve written more than you see here.
Not a huge amount more, but more. However, if you want to see it you
have to let me know. I wonÆt take the time to put my ideas to paper if
they will not be received or appreciated. I NEED feedback for this story
to continue, otherwise itÆs no more. I urge you to send me a quick
e-mail to tell me if you think itÆs worth continuing or if I should find
a better use of my time. LET ME KNOW!! As IÆve said, no responses
means no more story.
SEND ANY AND ALL COMMENTS TO LNCAGCRULZ@AOL.COM!!!
Please please please please please let me know what you think.
Title: Memoria Tenere Memoriam (Latin for "Remember the Memories")
Rating: PG to date
Summary: A resolution to the current problem, not to give anything away.
Spoilers: All episodes up to the current date (3/13) are game. Major
info pertaining to æSurpriseÆ and æInnocence,Æ however.
Comments: YES!!! LnCAGCRulz@aol.com
Distribution: IÆd prefer that this not be destributed outside of this
list for the time being. However, if you are interested in doing so
in the future, let me know.
Disclaimers: As a rule, if you recognize it, itÆs not mine. Everything
else is. I am not making any money off of this piece of fanfic, nor
is anyone else. If you think you are, I suggest you think otherwise.
As is customary in my stories, a song will likely be used. If we
make it to that point, all information about the song will be
included.
Other: As far as the title goes, it could be wrong. ;) I am in Latin I
an have humbly used two of the words on my current list. The only
question I have about it is the tense of "Memoriam." Anyone out
there who could let me know if itÆs wrongà Please, let me know!
Now, off to my story. Please remember, comments are essential!!
Memoria Tenere Memoriam
The knocking on the door began quietly, although it grew slightly
louder with each pound. A man, appearing to be in his mid-twenties stood
outside the still closed door. He sighed and closed his deep brown eyes,
mumbling some insecurity to himself.
When he opened his eyes he faced a young woman. Her eyes seemed to
have seen more than they should have in their 30 years. The eyes of the
blond girl squinted, as she were attempting to put a memory with this
face. The realization hit her suddenly.
"Hi."
She was spellbound. He was dead. She knew he was dead. She hadnÆt
just heard it was so û she had done it with her own two hands. She had
killed this man.
"YouÆre dead." What was she supposed to say at a time like this? It
isnÆt every day that one is confronted with their formal lover-turned
rival. Their dead one, at that. "I mean, youÆreà I killed you!"
"You did."
"Which would make you deadà"
"Well, it depends what you mean by that. May I come in? I need a
chance to explain." He wasnÆt sure how he was going to do this. It had
been so long. Thirteen years, he reminded himself. Fourteen in a month.
The longest thirteen years of his 251 year life. Too long.
"Umà I guess. Do Ià"
"No, you donÆt have to formally invite me."
Just as he begun to take his first step through her threshold, she
stopped him. "Wait! Who are youà honestly."
"Angel."
