  63. Well, I would say she has to developed in the process of the episodes,
  64. but there, at least to my recollection, been an episode that mainly
  65. focused on *her.*   So I suppose you are right.  I think there should be
  66. an episode where it does focus on her.  I mean, we get little tidbits of
  67. her changes through other character focused episodes, so I hope that next
  68. season as things progressed will learn not only more about her, but more
  69. specifics about the other characters, Xander, Willow, Oz, Giles, etc. 
  70. Perhaps a double plotlined episode where it's not entirely a main
  71. storyline, but it is also somewhat episodic.  Does that make sense?

  177. I have to comment on this.... Women falling in LOVE with Oz..... But they
  178. don't usually date him. He's sweet and funny and cute. Not many girls (note
  179. the using of the word GIRLS) prefer to go out with the bad-boy type in high
  180. school. Why? The nice-sweet-funny guy is the guy you complain to about
  181. you're romance trouble. You don't go out with his kind until you grow up
  182. and realize that the bad-boy appeal isn't very appealing. Basically, only
  183. smart, funny, sweet, one-of-the-guys WOMEN will go out with Oz's type. Hey,
  184. I think I just described Willow!

  186. Basically, this is the type of guy Buffy's guys are:

  188. Xander- the class clown cute-geek type, who moves from crush to crush, only
  189. dating a select number of girls. Will eventually grow out of it.
  190. Angel- The mysterious, older guy. Never dates, but every girl on the planet
  191. wants him. Ends up alone.
  192. Giles- Too wrapped up in his work to date. If he marries, it will be when
  193. he is in his forties.
  194. Spike- The eppitemy of the bad-boy type. Will end up with a trophy wife,
  195. with not much to offer other than looks (aka Drusilla)
  196. Oz- The sweet guy who is the "friend". Never really has a girlfriend.
  197. Basically Xander without the zillions of crushes on different girls. Will
  198. end up with the one-of-the-guys' girls (Willow)

  225. Haven't we been doing that all along?  I realize you work at Warner Brothers,
  226. but I don't remember hearing a whole lot of inside information or anything that
  227. would really make me take up much notice.  The person who wrote the original
  228. post was just making a point that they wanted more concrete information before
  229. they stopped taping the episodes.  Like they said, we "heard" the soundtrack
  230. was coming out 4 months ago, and Joss made several reports that it woud be out
  231. then as well.  Joss may also work for the WB, but he didn't have cncrete info
  232. about the soundtrack, just info that he had heard.  Your information is coming
  233. from "a friend."  Things tend to get distorted when passed down the line, and
  234. the person just wanted to wait until something "Official" was announced.  I've
  235. seen many times where someone in direct involvement has mentioned something to
  236. someone, and then things have happened that haven't gotten back to the person
  237. who they were told to.  Like I said, I believe you about the tapes, but I'm not
  238. going to get my hopes up or start checking the video stores until I see an
  239. official notice and I'll treat your information as second-hand, which, unless
  240. you're working on the tapes, is exactly what it is.  The fact that you're
  241. offended that someone (whom you've never met and probably never talked to in
  242. any form) doesn't put complete trust into you is ridiculous.  How many people
  243. on this list would you let borrow $300 with no reservations whatsoever?  Your
  244. reply was pretty childish and even though you won't mention when the videos are
  245. coming out, since they're coming out in July, it shouldn't be long at all until
  246. it's made public knowledge.

  264. the release of the Buffy tapes, we won't be able to purchase them any sooner.

  303. I laughed when I saw the word "underdeveloped" in your
  304. question because, on the contrary, some of us have noticed
  305. what seems to be a rather sudden increase in the amount of
  306. cleavage that Cordelia displays on the show, causing us to
  307. suspect a cosmetic enhancement procedure on the part of Ms.
  308. Carpenter (but I won't belabor that point because it's
  309. somewhat personal to the actress and not completely PG-13).
  310.  
  311. As for your actual question, yes, I agree.  Just when
  312. it seems like Cordy is really going to go somewhere as
  313. a character (like after she told off Harmony and her
  314. old snob clique), then she seems to retreat back into
  315. shallow, self-oriented bimboness by the next episode.
  316. It's like she's a 1 or 2 dimensional character always on
  317. the edge of becoming 2 or 3 dimensional, but never quite
  318. making it.

  320. I feel the same way about Joyce.  Just when it seems
  321. that she's having a breakthough of cluefulness (like
  322. at the end of "School Hard," "Ted," or "Innocence")
  323. she seems to retreat back into convenient cluelessness
  324. by the next episode.

  326. I don't blame the characters for these inconsistancies
  327. as much as I blame the writers.  It really is careless
  328. writing, imho, especially when they take pains to
  329. develop the other characters more thoughtfully.

  344. my fraternety just had a fundraiser and i got to work back stage. there 
  345. were many celebs that were and among them were allison and seth. i got to 
  346. meet both of them and they were both reallly nice people. i talked mostly to 
  347. seth though. i asked him if he is going back to the show to play oz and 
  348. he replied ny telling me that the tv people hadn't talked to him yet. it 
  349. was sooo kewl. i got both there autographs.

  360. First, let me say I love the first season repeats on Monday night.
  361. Its so much fun to watch them become the scooby gang.  How 
  362. Last  year Giles was pretty wimpy at times, but now after 
  363. 'Halloween' he is a stud.  A darker haired Buffy and longer haired
  364. Xander.  Not to mention a fun and light hearted Buffy.  Also interesting
  365. the change in the vamps, the first season the were so ritual based, and their
  366. evil was very much a religon to them in a way, all prophecy and order.
  367. Then with the addition of Spike and Dru it became one big "vamp-plooza".
  368. Just when you thought the average summer repeats would
  369. be has much fun as a dentist visit.  Interesting the pairings of Monday
  370. and Tuesday nights, the Witch episodes were obvious, but 'The Pack' and
  371. 'IMG' pairing is neat, not sure I get the 'NKABOTFD' and 'SAR' pairing.

  373. Xander and Buffy romance, would be interesting.  I sure we won't see it 
  374. next season, but it something they might want to explore more in the
  375. 4th season; after Angel moves to L.A.  If they did I think it would be for 
  376. a short number of episodes, and then decide they were better has friends.
  377. I'm sure that some will disagree, (on this subject its a better bet, than
  378. water is wet)
  379. I think that Xander and Buffy are a lot alike, and likely would be better in a 
  380. brother/sister relationship.  They both have a very sarcastic sense of humour;
  381. and similiar views on school, and other matters.  If you look back on things,
  382. they tend to agree more than disagree.  I suppose after the airing of the
  383. "The Pack'
  384. the Xander defenders will have to man the ramparts and watch for "Bat wielding 
  385. Angelholics"
  386.  
  387. On a local note ,if you live in central North Carolina, and watch WB/Buffy on
  388. the local WB50, its changing on August 1st.  The WB50 will become Fox50,
  389. and the local Fox station, channel 22, will become the local WB outlet for the
  390. greater triangle area.  Also keep an eye out for special news from Channel 22 
  391. for a special "Dubbafest" at the Raleigh convention center coming August 1st as
  392. a way to celebrate the new WB stations, they say some WB stars will show up,
  393. but no word yet who.  (I would imagine some Dawson's Creek people would come
  394. if no Buffy).

  396. I'm sure its a couple years away, but a Buffy feature would be cool, if Fox
  397. and WB
  398. put up a good amount of production cash.

  454. I wondered about that as well; the only thing i could come up with is a "date"
  455. theme:  first Buffy is on a first date with Owen in NKABOTFD and whining about
  456. not wanting to slay and Giles is on her case, then Giles is on a first date
  457. with Jenny in SAR and is telling Buffy he has to go to the football game when
  458. she tells him they have to do something about Daryl.  That's just MHO, though
  459. :)

  556. Wow, The Pack was a really good episode!  I liked it alot.  Xander 
  557. looked really HOT!

  560. said to Willow that he didn't have to look at her pale face anymore, I 
  561. about died.  I wanted to cry for her!  It was so sad.  I have had people

  818. Okay...I agree with the loving and the protecting.  However, although I
  819. there must have been some part of his not telling Buffy was selfishness,
  820. I think that the majority was what he said in his "perceptive" guy scene.
  821.  Xander's gotten to understand Buffy pretty well over these two years and
  822. he still has the concept (id est the protection thing) that she isn't as
  823. strong as she wants everyone to see her to be.  My guess and I guess I
  824. bring this idea from my fanfics, is that he sees Buffy as scared and loss
  825. as anybody...maybe even more so because of her duties as a slayer. 
  826. Anyway, getting to the point, it's because of this that he's been able to
  827. see how unstable Buffy was, still, despite her healing, and I think in
  828. the back of his mind he knew she could not be in her best form to fight
  829. Angelus.  She would be this lovelorn Buffy hoping that at any second
  830. Angel would come back.  She'd be second guessing herself, like, "can I do
  831. this?" "am I fighting Angel or am I fighting Angelus?"  The spell could
  832. come at any moment, she wouldn't have known what to expect, and if she
  833. didn't have a clear and concise objective in her mind (id est kill
  834. Angelus) she would have died, she wouldn't have been able to grab the
  835. sword the way she did (that really cool way with grabbing both sides of
  836. the blade).  So...coming out of my hypotheses and into my opinion, I
  837. think that Xander did it more out of trying to save Buffy...trying to do
  838. the best thing possible without hurting her more than, and I do agree
  839. that there is a little bit of this, selfishness, want of revenge from
  840. hatred, jealousy, etc.

  888. that offers discounts if you pre-order videos before their release date,
  889. this can mean a savings of some money and also guaranteed sales for them
  890. and that you get the videos you want without too much heartache and
  891. driving around town looking for them. Also, any help you can provide the
  892. store in question about a possible release date helps greatly.
