Well, I would say she has to developed in the process of the episodes,
but there, at least to my recollection, been an episode that mainly
focused on *her.* So I suppose you are right. I think there should be
an episode where it does focus on her. I mean, we get little tidbits of
her changes through other character focused episodes, so I hope that next
season as things progressed will learn not only more about her, but more
specifics about the other characters, Xander, Willow, Oz, Giles, etc.
Perhaps a double plotlined episode where it's not entirely a main
storyline, but it is also somewhat episodic. Does that make sense?

I have to comment on this.... Women falling in LOVE with Oz..... But they
don't usually date him. He's sweet and funny and cute. Not many girls (note
the using of the word GIRLS) prefer to go out with the bad-boy type in high
school. Why? The nice-sweet-funny guy is the guy you complain to about
you're romance trouble. You don't go out with his kind until you grow up
and realize that the bad-boy appeal isn't very appealing. Basically, only
smart, funny, sweet, one-of-the-guys WOMEN will go out with Oz's type. Hey,
I think I just described Willow!
Basically, this is the type of guy Buffy's guys are:
Xander- the class clown cute-geek type, who moves from crush to crush, only
dating a select number of girls. Will eventually grow out of it.
Angel- The mysterious, older guy. Never dates, but every girl on the planet
wants him. Ends up alone.
Giles- Too wrapped up in his work to date. If he marries, it will be when
he is in his forties.
Spike- The eppitemy of the bad-boy type. Will end up with a trophy wife,
with not much to offer other than looks (aka Drusilla)
Oz- The sweet guy who is the "friend". Never really has a girlfriend.
Basically Xander without the zillions of crushes on different girls. Will
end up with the one-of-the-guys' girls (Willow)

Haven't we been doing that all along? I realize you work at Warner Brothers,
but I don't remember hearing a whole lot of inside information or anything that
would really make me take up much notice. The person who wrote the original
post was just making a point that they wanted more concrete information before
they stopped taping the episodes. Like they said, we "heard" the soundtrack
was coming out 4 months ago, and Joss made several reports that it woud be out
then as well. Joss may also work for the WB, but he didn't have cncrete info
about the soundtrack, just info that he had heard. Your information is coming
from "a friend." Things tend to get distorted when passed down the line, and
the person just wanted to wait until something "Official" was announced. I've
seen many times where someone in direct involvement has mentioned something to
someone, and then things have happened that haven't gotten back to the person
who they were told to. Like I said, I believe you about the tapes, but I'm not
going to get my hopes up or start checking the video stores until I see an
official notice and I'll treat your information as second-hand, which, unless
you're working on the tapes, is exactly what it is. The fact that you're
offended that someone (whom you've never met and probably never talked to in
any form) doesn't put complete trust into you is ridiculous. How many people
on this list would you let borrow $300 with no reservations whatsoever? Your
reply was pretty childish and even though you won't mention when the videos are
coming out, since they're coming out in July, it shouldn't be long at all until
it's made public knowledge.

Regardless of whether or not we know months ahead of time the exact date of

I have a question. Didn't Willow mention the possibility of restoring the
curse in B2 to Buffy, and didn't Buffy nix the idea because of Willow's
health? This may be wrong; I haven't had the heart to watch that episode
again yet. :(
If that's true, then Buffy knew Willow was thinking about it. I don't know
if it really changes any of the debate that's been going on here, but it
might.

I laughed when I saw the word "underdeveloped" in your
question because, on the contrary, some of us have noticed
what seems to be a rather sudden increase in the amount of
cleavage that Cordelia displays on the show, causing us to
suspect a cosmetic enhancement procedure on the part of Ms.
Carpenter (but I won't belabor that point because it's
somewhat personal to the actress and not completely PG-13).
As for your actual question, yes, I agree. Just when
it seems like Cordy is really going to go somewhere as
a character (like after she told off Harmony and her
old snob clique), then she seems to retreat back into
shallow, self-oriented bimboness by the next episode.
It's like she's a 1 or 2 dimensional character always on
the edge of becoming 2 or 3 dimensional, but never quite
making it.
I feel the same way about Joyce. Just when it seems
that she's having a breakthough of cluefulness (like
at the end of "School Hard," "Ted," or "Innocence")
she seems to retreat back into convenient cluelessness
by the next episode.
I don't blame the characters for these inconsistancies
as much as I blame the writers. It really is careless
writing, imho, especially when they take pains to
develop the other characters more thoughtfully.
Cordy and Joyce often seem like throwaway characters.

First, let me say I love the first season repeats on Monday night.
Its so much fun to watch them become the scooby gang. How
Last year Giles was pretty wimpy at times, but now after
'Halloween' he is a stud. A darker haired Buffy and longer haired
Xander. Not to mention a fun and light hearted Buffy. Also interesting
the change in the vamps, the first season the were so ritual based, and their
evil was very much a religon to them in a way, all prophecy and order.
Then with the addition of Spike and Dru it became one big "vamp-plooza".
Just when you thought the average summer repeats would
be has much fun as a dentist visit. Interesting the pairings of Monday
and Tuesday nights, the Witch episodes were obvious, but 'The Pack' and
'IMG' pairing is neat, not sure I get the 'NKABOTFD' and 'SAR' pairing.
Xander and Buffy romance, would be interesting. I sure we won't see it
next season, but it something they might want to explore more in the
4th season; after Angel moves to L.A. If they did I think it would be for
a short number of episodes, and then decide they were better has friends.
I'm sure that some will disagree, (on this subject its a better bet, than
water is wet)
I think that Xander and Buffy are a lot alike, and likely would be better in a
brother/sister relationship. They both have a very sarcastic sense of humour;
and similiar views on school, and other matters. If you look back on things,
they tend to agree more than disagree. I suppose after the airing of the
"The Pack'
the Xander defenders will have to man the ramparts and watch for "Bat wielding
Angelholics"
On a local note ,if you live in central North Carolina, and watch WB/Buffy on
the local WB50, its changing on August 1st. The WB50 will become Fox50,
and the local Fox station, channel 22, will become the local WB outlet for the
greater triangle area. Also keep an eye out for special news from Channel 22
for a special "Dubbafest" at the Raleigh convention center coming August 1st as
a way to celebrate the new WB stations, they say some WB stars will show up,
but no word yet who. (I would imagine some Dawson's Creek people would come
if no Buffy).
I'm sure its a couple years away, but a Buffy feature would be cool, if Fox
and WB
put up a good amount of production cash.

Yeah, I'd love to meet Cordelia's parents, or even Xander's. Actually, I
think it'd just be funny if there was an episode revolving around
parent/teacher conferences. You'd think that Joss didn't bring in other

I wondered about that as well; the only thing i could come up with is a "date"
theme: first Buffy is on a first date with Owen in NKABOTFD and whining about
not wanting to slay and Giles is on her case, then Giles is on a first date
with Jenny in SAR and is telling Buffy he has to go to the football game when
she tells him they have to do something about Daryl. That's just MHO, though

Wow, The Pack was a really good episode! I liked it alot. Xander
looked really HOT!
But he was such a jerk! (I know, it was the hyena possession). When he
said to Willow that he didn't have to look at her pale face anymore, I
about died. I wanted to cry for her! It was so sad. I have had people
insult me like that and it's horrible.
But other than that, it was good. I thought it was cute that Xander
pretended he didn't remember anything about it, but he actually did. It
made me think of Phases when he talked about how he knows what it is
like to be bloodthirsty and have that craving to hunt, and Buffy said "I
thought you said you didn't remember anything about that?"
And ya know, it sucks that they ate Principal Flutie! He was such a
nice guy. Then that troll Snyder came. *shudder*

Okay...I agree with the loving and the protecting. However, although I
there must have been some part of his not telling Buffy was selfishness,
I think that the majority was what he said in his "perceptive" guy scene.
Xander's gotten to understand Buffy pretty well over these two years and
he still has the concept (id est the protection thing) that she isn't as
strong as she wants everyone to see her to be. My guess and I guess I
bring this idea from my fanfics, is that he sees Buffy as scared and loss
as anybody...maybe even more so because of her duties as a slayer.
Anyway, getting to the point, it's because of this that he's been able to
see how unstable Buffy was, still, despite her healing, and I think in
the back of his mind he knew she could not be in her best form to fight
Angelus. She would be this lovelorn Buffy hoping that at any second
Angel would come back. She'd be second guessing herself, like, "can I do
this?" "am I fighting Angel or am I fighting Angelus?" The spell could
come at any moment, she wouldn't have known what to expect, and if she
didn't have a clear and concise objective in her mind (id est kill
Angelus) she would have died, she wouldn't have been able to grab the
sword the way she did (that really cool way with grabbing both sides of
the blade). So...coming out of my hypotheses and into my opinion, I
think that Xander did it more out of trying to save Buffy...trying to do
the best thing possible without hurting her more than, and I do agree
that there is a little bit of this, selfishness, want of revenge from
hatred, jealousy, etc.

But why should she go out of her way if no one (or very few) actually pay
attention to what she's posting? From what she said I gather they bother her
off-list telling her she doesn't know what she's talking about and with all
that negativity who can blame her for not wanting to bother with it anymore?
It's not like it's her job to tell us this stuff--she's doing us a favor and
people are, in essence, calling her a liar.
I know I wouldn't put up with it. I'll miss her posts but I really can't say I
wouldn't do the same thing.

Actually, it can. If you have a store like Sam Goody in your area
that offers discounts if you pre-order videos before their release date,
this can mean a savings of some money and also guaranteed sales for them
and that you get the videos you want without too much heartache and
driving around town looking for them. Also, any help you can provide the
store in question about a possible release date helps greatly.

Ok, this may sound stupid, but IS the spell Ms. Calendar (whom I miss)
found and Willow and the gang cast the same one as the original Gypsy
curse? It seemed to be, but I can't remember where exactly that was
stated, episode-wise. Because I remember them saying they cursed
Angelus, but the Scooby gang called it the Spell of Restoration. Are
they one and the same?
On a side note.....I still think Ms. Calendar isn't gone.....she's dead,
but she's gonna pop up somewhere this season.....(besides flashbacks,
that is!)=20
