But the point is, he is eveil right now, and while he's evil, he's killing
innocent people. I don't think he should be allowed to live based on the chance
that he could become good again. When Buffy failed to kill him at the end of
Innocence, she allowed several innocent people to die in the process, all because

Okay, playing devil's advocate here . . . why weren't we calling for her head
and or a new slayer to be brought in after she let Spike and Drusilla go? She
let Spike go in "Halloween," she let both of them live in "Lie To Me" (granted
she was out numbered) and she didn't take the high road in "School Hard" and
snuff his butt. Now, don't you think Spike has been killing innocent people,

LOL All I can say is this . . . if they manage to give Angel back his soul,
but they don't find a way to make sure this never happens again, you can count
me out. There is no way I'm going to watch Buffy, if they can't come up with
anything more original than that . . . they may as well do the soap opera
thing. If Joss falls into that trap, he'll be in league with the devil, and
I'll have to do some staking of my very own.

You heard right. Angel said this becuase if you touch the judge you can die.
He was worried about Buffy. Luckily the judge wasn't at full strengh so Buffy
wasn't killed. This is all later explained in "Innonce" when Buffy said she
touched him and it felt like a sudden fever.

I was watching the repeat of "Surprise" and noticed something weird. In the
scene where Buffy is sitting on his bed, right before they do the deed, look
on the wall right behind the bed. You can clearly see the shadow of a window
and when Angel moves, you can see his shadow and rain drops and everything
so obviously the shade or whatever is up. This seems pretty careless of him
to have a window, much less one right where his bed is. What do you all
think? Tina

Subject: BUFFY: National ratings for Bad Eggs
Last week's repeat of Bad Eggs got a 2.8 rating in the national Nielsen
ratings for households, placing it 99th out of 113 prime time shows; out of
the 14 WB programs, Buffy placed 7th. The WB's top show was 7th Heaven
with a 3.8, good for 91st overall. A repeat of Dawson's Creek got a 3.3.
For comparison purposes, the last four repeats had the following national
household ratings: What's My Line, Parts 1 and 2 both got a 2.9, Ted and
Lie To Me both received a 3.4.
In other ratings news, last night's premiere of Love Boat: The Next Wave
scored a huge 8.6 rating/14 share for UPN in the 38 largest TV markets. I
realize that the Book of Revelations mentions the second coming of The Love
Boat as one of the signs of the Apocalypse, but those numbers do prove it
is at least possible for UPN and The WB to compete with the big networks.
Of course, it also says something about the type of show needed to compete.
I just hope this doesn't overshadow The WB's success with Buffy and
Dawson's Creek.

I actually watched Dawson's Creek tonite. And as a buffyatric; if I was
forced to make a judgement on the current generation based on the
presentation on TV (thankfully I can look at my own children, and
hopefully get a more realistic view), I would be sorely afraid if DC
represents the current generation. The presentation of 1990's teens on
Dawsons's is scary, these kids act like the're 25 not 15. For all the
fantasy in Buffy, it seems much more realistic, or at least I hope so.
Anyone else have an opinion ? Which is more "real" Buffy or DC

In response to Charlie's assessment that Dawson's Creek had actual teens
acting like they are in their twenties, actually a few of the actors on DC are
20 and over! I feel like i have to throw my two sense in about the whole
debate about what real teenagers are like. I'm 19, i've been out of high
school for two years, but when i was in high school everything seemed so
dramatic, every problem seemed like the end of the world. Now mabye i'm the
only one that was like that. Relationships were hard for me in high school. I
think they depict that really well on both shows. But i think that on DC they
show how dramatic teenagers are about a lot of things. High school is a tough
time for a lot of people. On Buffy it's just like they let everything slide,
all of the characters are so carefree about everyday problems. Notice i said
everyday problems like homework for example. Buffy never goes to class, yet
she still manages to keep her GPA at about 2.8. Willow gets made fun of all
the time (or at least she used to) by Cordy and friends, but it never upsets
her. On DC though, the characters worry about their schoolwork and such
everyday problems. It bothers them when people make fun of them, and i think
that makes it a little more realistic. And don't underestimate the
intelligence of high school students either - many of them talk very
intelligently about real problems. I know i'm going to have many people
disagreeing with me, but just remember, it's just my opinion!

Yep, there was a radio contest to win lunch with Nick. I didn't hear
about it until after my very good friend from Cleveland emailed me
and called me up all excited cuz she won! I don't pretend not to be
jealous :) This took place last week. She hasn't had the lunch
yet. If anything significant happens, I'll let you know :)

Subject: BUFFY: creative couples
hey you guys!
i just wanted to start a little poll to go around. while the show is on
hiatus we seem to be a little strapped for things to talk about. well today
one of my friends and i were discussing buffy and we wanted to think of some
of the cutest couples on the show. now with my ability not to be able to come
up with that stuff i wanted to hear some feedback from fellow btvs fans. so
here is your challenge from me: think up who you would think would be some of
the best couples on the show. you can use any character and mix and match
anyone you like. (ex. good guy/bad guy, bad guy/bad guy, good guy/good guy)
i would like to tell you my ideas but i cant think of any right now. i do
promise that as soon as i am able to think of any i will send them out. i cant
wait to hear some of the creative couples that i know you can think up!!!

UMMH..Sorry but that ain't going to happen.I gotta agree with the chick who
stared this thread. Why say he deserves to die? He's not going to die
anyway.Sorry to all the males out there who love Buffy but it just seems
pointless to say that he should die since it will never happen. It's just
wishful thinking.

Also Buffy can't be there everytime Angelus kills somebody and she hasn't
killed Spike and Dru yet and look how long they've been around. Also if
anyone wants to talk about realism here it wouldn't be realistice if she
killed Angel the first time they had an encounter. She's human and this is
the man she onced loved.
When Buffy failed to kill him at the end of

Let's not forget it's fiction and every action filled show needs some good
villains which mean people will die. It doesn't bother me though. He could
kill the hole of Sunnydale for all I care as long as he doesn't kill any of
the Scooby Gang.Ofcourse this will never happen cause it's television. This
was not meant in directly to Lawless it's just my opinion.

You should have said "melodramatic". There's dramatic and then there's sleazy
and DC falls into the latter category. The two times I've watched made my
flesh crawl. The people in charge are trying to sell it as a teen drama
because let's face it sex gets ratings. You get a bunch or hormone driven kids
together and teens will watch. I don't know about the rest of you but it
scares me that this is the level kids want to be on. Look at 90210! I can't
imagine a worse show with lower quality acting but it sells! It's been on for
what ten years now?I don't see the whole high school is tough thing carried
through on Dawson's Creek. They're like 15 year old yuppies!
Buffy's different. It's not selling anything but great writing and awesome
characters. Buffy survives on it's merits. Look how long it took Buffy and
Angel to have sex! A season and a half. If it worked by DC standards they
would have done it right after she knocked him down in WttH.
I can abide DC, I'm sorry to those of you who like it but in my mind there is
no comparison. The winner and still champion: Buffy!

I feel impelled to post my script of the doubtless forthcoming, epic
crossover episode, in which vampires arrive in DC:
Dawson Croaks
Summary:
Vampires invade the sleepy, yet pathologically articulate town of
Capeside. Dawson Leery attempts to scare them off by acting sulky
and quoting lines from old movies. He is immediately killed.
Partial transcript:
Joey climbs into the window of Dawson's room, in response to his
urgent call.
Joey: What is it, Dawson?
Dawson: Numinous portents I cannot satisfactorily explicate betoken
the arrival in Capeside of hemophagic entities of a potentially malefic
character. I wonder why I keep getting a 'D' in English.
Joey: Verily? No mythologic beings of wan countenance or undead
semblance have appeared at the local video emporium to rent Nosferatu
from Pacey, hence am I mystified by the conundrum of your
asseverations, empirically unfounded as they appear to be.
Dawson: These auguries most mystical have I conjured from patterns in
the use of definite articles by antiheroes in the ancient works of
Steven Spielberg.
Joey: Oh. That explains it.
At this point, a vampire rushes through the window, pausing only
briefly to inspect the sign that reads, "this portal left open for
burglars, vampires, and girls next door."
Vampire: Grrrrr. Arrgh.
Dawson: Begone, oh creature of tenebrous provenience! Else will I
smite you with my...um, thesaurus.
Vampire: Kills Dawson and flees.
Joey: Bummer.
