If I'm guessing correctly, this comment dealt with vampires becoming human
once again. I agree that Jesse wouldn't turn to dust were he somehow
transformed back into a human being, but someone like Angel would most
likely undergo that sort of process. Of course, I've already previously
mentioned that it depends on the ritual which would revert the vampire. It
could restore youth, as well. For Thomas, well, he wouldn't be in the best
of shape, I'll tell you that much.

We don't know how long Darla's been wearing the Catholic schoolgirl outfit,
however. Angel said, "Last time I saw you it was komonos.", which suggests
that Darla may be rather whimsical, or just change her clothing regularly.
Darla was 400 years a vampire, so she was most likely wearing something
other than her schoolgirl clothing when she was changed.

Hazzah!!! The ARCHANGEL lives!!! Greetings Children of the HellMouth.
It is I. I've been skulking around, breathlessly awaiting next season

You should have gotten in when I did, at 10!!! For purely greedy selfish
reasons, I too think all you fellow Buffy fans should buy up SMG stock.
I've <ahem> tried to bully the market with questionable ethics. But I'm
only one unscrupulous man, and as the saying goes...."One man a market
does not make" (Huh?).
Anyhow, it is free and it is kind of fun. (Aside from buying SMG I'd
recommend hedging cast members before season premiere's. You know
"Friends" & "Party of Five." Especially Jennifer Love Hewitt and Neve.
Besides from PO5, after IKWYDLS and Scream 2 come out, their stocks are
gonna soar.) The stuff you can win is kind of....crappy....but it is
free stuff (Rogue Market T-shirt or hat). But imagine the feelings of
joy and elation you'll feel when SMG breaks the $100 mark. (O.K. I
admittedly feel kind of dirty speaking of owning and buying Sarah like a
piece of meat....but I've traded real commodities before and there are
far worse people than I.) So check it out and try to remember it's all
in fun.

even more of an impression on me. How clueless can Joyce Summers get with
the "barbecue fork accident?" I mean, maybe if she was cutting something at
the time, then just maybe I could believe her thinking that she cut herself;
but come on she's looking in the refridgerator for a snack and suddenly she
cuts herself on their non-existant barbeque fork? I mean, wouldn't any
normal person think that Darla had cut her with the barbeque fork? She was
standing right behind her at the time, and Joyce knew that. How trusting can
you be of people, come on? Anyway, going to finish watching "Angel" and call
it a night. Sweet Dreams of BtVS everyone!

i was wondering if anyone else saw these:
In the first episode willow says check out a book called theories in trig
book from the library but they take geometry (it's seen in future episodes
like "Pack").
Then when Xander and Buffy are in the tunnel he says it beats chem class.
But in "Teacher's Pet" they take biology. I don't know about other schools
but in my school you can't take chem and bio at the same time.

like she's surprised to find out that he loves her. I just thought it
was so sweet. Of course, I could be misreading this, but as I have

Just a quick correction here. If Buffy's snappy patter can be trusted,
then Darla's "been around since Columbus". And as we've all (or at least
all of us from the US) had drilled into us since kindergarten, "In In
fourteen-hundred and ninety-two Columbus sailed the.." yadda yadda yadda.
That would put Darla at the 500+ mark. And she was amazingly well
preserved, wouldn't you say?

It was kind of funny because as I was reading this post I was also
re-watching "Angel" and it was exactly at that part. I noticed a lot of
"looks" I didn't catch the first time around. The look on Buffy's face when
she says "You guys were involved?" and the look on Angel's face right after
she said that! Awwww... :) And when Darla said "There was a time when we
shared everything, wasn't there Angelus?" and they showed both Angel and
Buffy at the same time! Grab a box of tissues! :( And the one you mentioned
was the best! I especially love the way Angel looks back at her!!!
One thing I don't get though. Darla says Angel gave up the chance to rule in
the Master's court for 1,000 years, but that he gave it up for Buffy. If Angel
supposedly hasn't been hunting or even associating with other vamps. in so
long, way longer than Buffytime, how could he give it up for her???
Did anyone else wish they could see the look on Angel's face when he killed
Darla? The shadows covered everything but his outline! At least they showed
him clearly right before he left...that look was priceless!

Actually, this might not be a mistake. Rewatch "Witch", and you will notice
that Dr. Gregory instruct that there are two sections in the class. One is

True, but in some schools (not mine) you can (they have block scheduling
where you take 4 or 5 classes the first half of the school year, and 4 or
5 different classes the second half.) I don't remember any of my friends
taking two science classes in one year, but it's concievable (many took
two math courses or foreign language courses.) I'm not sure if this
explains away the nit, but it's worth mentioning.
However, just remember that the pilot is always at least a little
different from the series, and the series has to "flesh out" a bit from
the pilot. For a real case in point, watch the BtVS movie and try to
make it fit with the TV show continuity. I can't! (I'm sure the people
on this list have tried, though. ^_^)

This is very true. For all her effusive excitement about the damn thing,
Buffy sure wasn't any good with it. Stick with the quarterstaff, honey.

This argument is really maddening. Where does personal, inviolable space
begin, I ask you? What qualifies as a "home" (would someone living in
their car be shielded from vampiric intrusion)? Really, the mind wobbles.
Lisa Rose then followed with:
>I'm always perplexed when people imply that Angel is a coward.
>Only a fool wouldn't be afraid of the Master forces. So if *Xander*
>really wasn't afraid of the Master at all (which I doubt, though

I agree that Angel's "cowardice" really conceals a very strong instinct for
self-preservation. Xander, though, is a fool for love, and as such,
deserves our pity and not our scorn. I'm liking Xander more and more as I
re-watch the episodes. I think that as much as Joss plays into our
collective Demon Lover fantasy with the whole Angel-Buffy liaison, he's
still very much of a pragmatist. Hence, to all the people who were
horrified by Angel's not leaping to Buffy's rescue (I being one of them
initially) in PG, I guess one explanation may be that as much as he cares
for her, he won't go into certain death for her. That doesn't make him a
weaker character, but a little more human, IMO.
After Nightmares, I posted on the Bronze postingboard that I would have
liked to have seen Billy exert some sort of astral-body revenge on his
abuser, rather than run away in fear at his Ugly-Man proxy. Joss wrote
back a very well-considered reply that such a situation is probably more of
a fantasy than an emotional reality (namely, Billy's "repression," as Joss
called it, of his abuse, but which I corrected as being Billy's "inability
to address his abuse" which the charming Buffirella helps him to overcome.
{psyc major rears his head long enough to say that there is no empirical
evidence that people "repress" anything in the Freudian sense. not flame
bait, just an observation.]). So clearly, Joss is interested in such
issues.
Whilst Viashino offered:
>If Buffy's snappy patter can be trusted, then Darla's "been around since
>Columbus"
Although Buffy dates Darla back to Columbus, I believe she was being
facetious, as you say Brother Viashino. There was no indication that Buffy
knew anything about Darla beyond the fact that she was a skank. Something
in Darla's carriage perhaps spoke of greater age than our wet pup Angel.
However, the Master places her as a favorite for 400 years old (she may be
older; she needn't have been the favorite that whole time, doncha know.
vampire politics and all.). After a while, those centuries just stop
meaning anything. I wonder if female vampires lie about their age?
Finally, I think we all realize that this means that Angel has a penchant
for women who are either too old or too young for him, so all you 240 year
old women out there should just give up the fantasy. You're just not his
type. ;-)
Chris Castro on the other hand wrote:
>Angel said, "Last time I saw you it was komonos.", which suggests
>that Darla may be rather whimsical, or just change her clothing regularly..
I have this horrible image now in my mind of Darla as the Madonna of the
vampire set, every couple of years reinventing herself so she can lay
renewed seige on the public taste.

I'm assuming part of the reason that Buffy had difficult moving the door
was because of well-rusted hinges (it didn't look too thick). The vampires
who were pursuing her certainly didn't have any trouble crushing it open
like tin foil (and there only seemed to be two vampires exerting the
greatest effort). Hmm. This remark does have me thinking what would
happen if Buffy had beaten Diana in the contest to determine who would be
Wonder Woman. Quickly, to the BUFFYFIC list!!!

Trigonometry is not totally beyond the scope of geometry. Principles of
sin, cos, and tan were introduced in the geometry class I took in high
school... However, as I noted with the history/social studies melange in
the curriculum of the Sunnydale Independent School District, it appears
there's a whole mess o' education happening in at good old SHS.

Good question, truly boggling. I'm sure the rule came about before people
were living in cars, scratch that, it came out before there *were* cars, so
it wasn't taken into consideration. But it is interesting. Just what does
qualify as a home? Can a vampire not come into your cardboard box if you
don't invite it? How many days must you dwell in your car in order for it to
count as a "home"? What if your home is a small clearing in the woods and a
sleeping bag (sorry, this question's already been answered--remember the
homeless in the park in "Teacher's Pet"?)?

BUFFY SHIRTS ARE FINALLY HERE!
Hey all you <insert name of choice here> - I've finally gotten around to
starting on the BTVS xmission shirts. I will repost this order form at
*least* once a week until the deadline.
Below is a order form and description of the shirts. I've tried to keep
them as simple as possible to keep the cost down (the price of shirts has
gone up lately). Also, I have a tendency to round numbers up and make
things a touch too expensive - this is because in the past I've had surprise
costs and had to use my own money to pay for shirts. In this case, any
funds left over will go towards the sending the cast shirts (see below).
Also, in the "options" section below, the top-ten list requires a separate
screen. If I do not get enough orders to pay for this option, I will
contact you to find out if you'd like personalization done or have a refund
of $2.50. However, I don't anticipate this being a problem.
The deadline for receiving orders is going to be *******Saturday, Sept. 15,
1997******* so that I can place the order on Tuesday. If, for any reason,
you can't have your order to me by then, email me and I'll see if we can't
work something out.
Also, I would like to send shirts to as many people on the Buffy production
staff that I'm able to (I'll start with Joss, then go to SMG, etc, etc). If
you would like to include an extra dollar or so to help, that would be
appreciated.
If at all possible, please print out this order form and use it (makes
record-keeping easier), but if you can't, please make sure to write down all
necessary information (on a sheet of notebook paper, if possible). Thanks.
