Well, most companies don't want to invest money backing a fan club
unless they're sure that there will be a good deal of response to it.
Plus, the president of most clubs is the person who the fan club is
for. Basically, if someone on the show likes the idea of a fan club,
they approach a company who then handles the production stuff for them.
The reason they're so consuming is because the person has to provide
monthly updates for the fans, sign tons of autographs, and for good
clubs, usually have a couple photo shoots. The companies that I've
dealt with want to wait a while to have proof of the shows following
before making a decision, and then of course you have to get the actor
to go along with it.

I wear leather jackets to school occasionally, and leather doesn't
necessarily make one a low life. In fact, all I make in school is A's and
B's. Of course, they guys in "Nightmares" looked like the guys from "Grease."
I considered the guys in "Grease" lowlifes, so...I agree.

Of course it doesn't. Angel wore a leather jacket, and then he gave it to Buffy.
Does that make they lowlifes? I don't think so.

Subject: BUFFY: TV ads
I was wondering how much Buffy is being advertised on TV. I was home most
of the weekend, and watched a lot of TV, mostly movies on the local WB
station (Detroit, channel 20). I noticed that they ran ads for Nick Freno
at just about every chance they got. But, in all the time the set was
tuned to channel 20, they only ran one Buffy commercial, and it was for an
