  12. S.423 and H.R. 1749 are currently undergoing review in the US Congress.  If 
  13. you're not familiar with this legislation, it's geared toward providing health 
  14. insurance parity for motorcyclists and others.  Here's a section of the text from 
  15. the AMA's website:

  17. "The legislation aims at promoting health care parity for individuals 
  18. participating in legal transportation and recreational activities-activities 
  19. like motorcycling, snowmobiling, horseback riding, running or walking. 
  20. This legislation addresses a loophole caused by a Department of Health 
  21. and Human Services' rule making it possible for health care coverage to 
  22. be denied to those who are injured while participating in these 
  23. activities."

  25. If you are at all concerned about your ability to get and maintain health 
  26. care coverage that covers you when you are participating in the above 
  27. activities, I suggest you contact your senators and representatives and 
  28. encourage them to support, and pass, this legislation.  
  29. Getting involved is easy, here's how:

  167. my third funeral/or memorial service in the last week for someone that I  
  168. know who has died.. Any on you that were at the 48er might remember that I went 
  169. down to Alamedia to visit an old girl friend who had cancer, she died in early 
  170. Septmember and they are having a memorial service for her today.
