Subject: (andina) Any suggestions here?????
Date: 10 Dec 1998 14:16:17 -0700
One of my cyber friends ask me this, maybe someone in this list "andina"
can awake the list.
thanks.
Manuel.
question:
The Wara songs were Amancer Andino and Collita I think.
Still practicing Collita on the kena--not an easy piece with the 3rd
octave G.
Oh, one thing I've been meaning to ask you:
Should you ever use all 6 fingers on the holes for the second octave G?
Or just 3,4? I never know which to use or both.
Also, on the 2nd octave, I half cover the bottom hole with my thumb. But
I hear you're supposed to cover the thumb hole entirely for the 2nd.
Which is correct?
Sorry for all the questions.
Joe
(Joe if you want to subscribe to the "andina list, let me know.)

Subject: (andina) Song lyrics in Quichua & Aymara
Date: 10 Dec 1998 15:56:58 -0800
Does anyone know the lyrics to the either of the following songs:
"Intiu Khana" (Clearing Sun) by C. Orosco & S. Callejas of Grupo Aymara
(in Aymara)
"Cancion de una esperanza" traditional from Ecuador (in Quichua)
I'm looking for either the original lyrics in Aymara and Quichua, or
translations in English or Spanish.
Sabe alguien las letras de las siguientes canciones:
"Intiu Khana" por C. Orosco y S. Callejas del Grupo Aymara (en Aymara)
"Cancion de una esperanza" tradicional de Ecuador (en Quichua)
Thanks!

Subject: (andina) the famous CONDOR PASA.
Date: 27 Dec 1998 11:30:39 -0700
Well, finally we are done with our christmas performance,we play for like
4 days in the fashion place mall,we had a great time playing this beautifull
music.
Something that is very amazing for me is the magnet of the song EL CONDOR=
PASA ,
I don't know if you guys know that we don't have our own cd yeat,we sale=
Sukay
cd,,,we play several songs that are in their cd's,,,,before we play a song
we say to the audience
that we are going to play the song that is in the Mettings cd,for=
example,,,,
Many many times the people ask us that they want our cd,,,when people ask
for our cd
we fell that we must record a cd of course..
How I said before is amzing the magnet of the Condor Pasa,,,everytime when
we played
that song the people walking around in the mall, they turn their head to us
and then they walk
fast to the table and they get the cd with that song,,of course we sold all
those cd's,David Peterson
made a arragment in the Condor..we play the lamento with 2 quenas and one
quenacho(harmony)
David Peterson Play arpegio in the guitar, after that we play the
trote(drum,charango,guitar
and Fernando in quena)and then the guayno,,,,,people always think that the
song is done
when we are almost done with the trote, that why David Sonntag call this song
"the symphony of the Condor"
Also people enjoy soo much when we play PURU RUNAS,,,I think because the
great bass sound when we play
the Toyos..well I enjoyed a lot those days in the Mall....
FELIZ A=D1O NUEVO ANDINA!!!!!!
PS.we are going to be playing for New Year Eve from 7.30 to 8.15.....=20

Nelly Munguia sings a few songs on a CD by Pervian guitarist
Javier Echecopar. Perhaps someone out there knows if she has a CD
of her own. Thank you.
