The National Geophysical Data Center for Solar Terrestrial Physics
archives Ionospheric data and data plots. They have more stations
and additional parameters. Follow the "Ionosphere" link or use the
interactive SPIDR system. http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/stp/
The High frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) has
real-time, and archived, Ionospheric and TEC data.

SWPC provides near-real-time and recent data, solar and geomagnetic
indices and solar event reports created from preliminary reports.
Preliminary data may contain errors or be revised after further
review. The historical products in this SWPC Warehouse are the
preliminary reports as originally published. SWPC does not encourage
the use of preliminary data for research purposes.

Ionospheric Data Lists Description (see sample list below)
o Ionospheric Data Lists are ascii files with one station per file.
SWPC currently receives data from 50 stations.
New stations are added as resources permit.
o A compressed binary file, /iono_day/iono_day.tar.gz, containing all
daily files, is created hourly at 25 and 55 minutes past the hour.
o Data are received at in two formats: IUWDS and SAO
+ IUWDS format is an 5-digit coded text format.
Five Chinese stations report fo F2 in IUWDS format:
Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Hainan, and Manzhouli
- Stations report hourly values once a day.
- Data lists check for IUWDS stations hourly at
30 minutes past the hour.
+ SAO (Standard Archiving Output) files contain the scaled data for
1 ionogram. For details visit http://ulcar.uml.edu/framesd.htm
- The Scaled Ionospheric Characteristics Elements within the SAO
records contain up to 49 parameters. SWPC displays 15 of these:
foF2, hmF2, M(D), D, h'F, yF2, fMUF, h', fxI, foF1, foE,
hmE, foEs, fbEs, ITEC. For details on these parameters,
go to http://ulcar.uml.edu/~iag/SAO-4.htm#TABLE6
- Stations report in near real-time and usually provide 5-, 15-,
30-, or hour values. These cadences, however, can vary.
- If no data are received during the period, the first data line
contains "No data available."
- Data list files for SAO stations are updated twice an hour
at 25 and 55 minutes past the hour.
- The station description line in each file includes the station
name, geographic location, operator*-Digisonde model or Dynasonde**,
e.g. Ascension Island S07E014 AFRL-DPS-4
o SWPC provides near-real-time data in Daily Ionospheric Data lists
+ Daily files
- are in the directory /pub/lists/iono_day/
- contain up to two days of data beginning at 0000 UTC on the previous
day and ending with latest value for the current day.
- are named as "Station_iono.txt", e.g., Learmonth_iono.txt
- A compressed binary file, /iono_day/iono_day.tar.gz, contains all
the daily files and is created at 25 and 55 minutes past the hour.
