  2.                   Space Weather Event Reports

  5. This directory contains the last 75 Summary of Space Weather Event 
  6. Reports issued. 
  7.  
  8.    Issue time:     Daily after 0250 UTC, usually online by 0300 UTC.
  9.    Period covered: Previous UTC day.
  10.  
  11. Description:
  12.  
  13.   The Summary of Space Weather Observations is a daily report of
  14.   energetic solar event reports from the preceding day. See sample
  15.   below
  16.  
  17.   A summary of significant solar events including start, maximum, 
  18.   and end times, region number and location, x-ray and optical 
  19.   classification of flares and significant radio emission. All 
  20.   available data for an event are included in this section if one 
  21.   or more of the following thresholds are reached:
  22.     o Class-M or greater x-ray flare,
  23.     o Optical flare of importance >2b,
  24.     o Radio burst of >100 sfu at 245 MHz,
  25.     o Radio burst >100% above background at 2695 MHz,
  26.     o Type II or IV sweep frequency burst.

  79.              GOES 14 Became Primary Satellite for XRS data
  80.        No Secondary Satellite for X-rays or Electrons and Protons

  82. December 1, 2009: GOES 14 is the Primary SWPC GOES Satellite for X-ray Events.
  83. There is no Secondary X-ray Satellite at this time.

  86.                  GOES 10 Decommissioning Dec 1, 2009
  87.              GOES 14 Becomes Primary Satellite for XRS data
  88.        No Secondary Satellite for X-rays or Electrons and Protons
  89.    
  90. November 17, 2009: On Tuesday, 01 December, the GOES 10 satellite will 
  91. be officially decommissioned. At that time, GOES 14 will replace GOES 10 
  92. as the Primary SWPC GOES Satellite for X-ray Events. 
  93.              !!!!! Another GOES Satellite Change    !!!!!

  95. May 15, 2003 -- GOES 12 is now SEC's primary GOES satellite. Energetic 
  96. Events are from GOES 12, but again the change is transparent.

  115.     Two Space Weather Event Reports sections were dropped June 8, 2001 -- 
  116.    
  117.     The Possible_Coronal_Mass_Ejection_Events section is not available 
  118.     because SEC and the USAF stopped producing the daily Solar 
  119.     Coronal Disturbance Report.
  120.     
  121.     In addition, the Proton_Events section has been discontinued
  122.     until a reliable source for these reports is available.
