  1. Here is the latest Zipcon PPP support files for Windows 3.1.
  2.  
  3. Please run the following batch programs to install:
  4.  
  5. to install on C: run "installc.bat"
  6. to install on D: run "installd.bat"
  7.  
  8. To run the install program, just double click on it from within
  9. File Manager.
  10.  
  11. If you have trouble with the modem init string, please
  12. refer to the Zipcon help menu (Z in the menu, or zipconhelp
  13. from the shell), then menu item "Troubleshooting connection problems".
  14. Its absolutely crucial that hardware handshaking is enabled in your
  15. modem.
  16.  
  17. Run tcpman.exe and select login from the dialer menu to connect.
  18. tcpman will create the PPP connection that netscape will then use.
  19. Minimize the Trumpet Winsock window after it connects successfully,
  20. then run Netscape.  To end your connection to Zipcon, select bye from
  21. the dialer menu.

  23. It may be necessary to us the tcpman.exe 'setup' menu item to
  24. set your comm port correctly.  Your comm port is what they call
  25. the 'slip-port'.  Change that value to your comm port value.  i.e.
  26. COM1 = 1
  27. COM2 = 2
  28.  
  29. Please run trumpwsk.hlp (a Windows help file) if you have trouble.

  31. You should create icons for each of the *.exe files and trumpwsk.hlp
  32. for ease of use.  To do this, please go into the Program Manager, and
  33. select the File menu, then select the New menu item.  Now click OK
  34. and click on Browse... for the program location.  Select C:\ZIPNET
  35. on the right side of the window, then the EXE files will show up on
  36. the left side.  Double click on an EXE file and click OK for an icon.
  37. The only icon you must have is TCPMAN.EXE, which is used to connect
  38. to Zipcon.
