  1. *MacTCP*
  2. After you have MacTCP in the Control Panel Folder, within the system
  3. folder, do the following:
  4.  
  5. 1) Double click the MacTCP icon
  6. 2) Leave the IP Address field blank, click "More..."
  7. 3) in Obtain Address: click Server
  8. 4) in IP Address: use class C
  9. 5) in Domain Name Server Info: put in Domain: zipcon.net
  10.                                         IP Address: 209.221.136.4
  11.    Click on the 'Default' box.
  12.    As a backup DNS server, you can also use:  ns2.zipcon.net
  13.                                         IP Address: 209.221.136.9
  14. 6) That should do it with MacTCP, don't try to enter your IP address.
  15.  
  16. *MacPPP*
  17. Select the Config PPP icon in the Control Panel folder, then double
  18. click the Config PPP icon.
  19. 1) Make sure that "Terminal Window" is not selected unless you wish to
  20.    manually login (using Ploginname)
  21. 2) Click "Config..."
  22. 3) Put "ppp.zipcon.net" in the "PPP Server Name" box
  23. 4) Set "Port Speed" to 38400 or above.
  24. 5) Set "Flow Control" to CTS & RTS (important: you must have a CTS/RTS
  25.    capable modem cable)
  26. 6) Phone Num: 206-576-7500   (or 206-576-7501)
  27. 7) Modem Init: "AT&F&K3" is probably enough (Rockwell chipset modems)
  28.    For an init string, press 'z' in the Zipcon main menu, then select
  29.    "Troubleshooting connection problems".
  30. 8) click "Connect Script..."
  31. 9) put in:
  32.    "Wait"  ogin:
  33.    "Out"   Ploginname     <CR>    (capital P and your login name, no spaces)
  34.    "Wait"  sword:
  35.    "Out"   YourPassword   <CR>    (enter your real password)
  36. **Please be aware, the login name and password fields are case sensitive.
  37. 10) Click "OK"
  38.  
  39. The following steps are optional, your default setting should work,
  40. Please ONLY try these if you have difficulty getting PPP to work:

  42.     11) Click "IPCP Options"
  43.     12) Setup as follows:
  44.                                       Local        Remote
  45.         TCP Header Comp. (VJ)        off off      off  off
  46.         IP Address:                 want will     off  will
  47.         Leave the IP address fields as is.
  48.     13) Click "OK"

  51. 14) Click "Done"

  53. Now you should be able to click "Open" to connect!  Have fun!
