ATTENTION:
Disk imaging technology (ImageX, Ghost, Altiris, G4L, etc) is not supported by the McAfee Agent, Also know as ePO Agent, and Common Management Agent.
When McAfee Agent is installed it creates a unique identifier, the AgentGUID, in the Windows registry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Agent\AgentGUID].
When an operating systems is cloned, the McAfee Agent is unable detect that it has been duplicated, and reports to the ePO management system as the original system.
A system with a duplicate AgentGUID will not report properly to ePO management system, and it may also cause the client not to receive or enforce policies properly.
To resolve this issue, you need to delete the AgentGUID key from the registry. There are several methods of accomplishing this task:
1. Open Regedit and navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Agent\AgentGUID] and delete the AgentGUID key.
2. Download and run resetmcafeeagentguid.reg from the MESD ftp site. ftp://ftp/antivirus/resources/resetmcafeeagentguid.reg
You can add this regedit to your post imaging scripts, or checklist.
3. Download and run mcafee-sysprep.vbs ftp://ftp/antivirus/resources/mcafee-sysprep.vbs
You can add this VB script to your post imaging scripts or checklist.
You can add the script to your sysprep.ini file in the [commands] section.
This script will provide more logging/debug information for you then the regedit.
