Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols, writing for "IT World" (http://www.itworld.com/legal/104320/adobe-vs-apple-going-get-uglier), says "sources close to Adobe tell me that Adobe will be suing Apple within a few weeks."
"It was bad enough when Apple said, in effect, that Adobe Flash wasn't good enough to be allowed on the iPad," he writes. "But the final straw was when Apple changed its iPhone SDK (software development kit) license so that developers may not submit programs to Apple that use cross-platform compilers."
Adobe has made no comment on any such action. However, Lee Brimelow, an Adobe platform evangelist, is obviously one of many Adobe employes ticked off at Apple. In his personal web site, "The Flash Blog" (http://theflashblog.com/?p=1888), he said, "Go screw yourself, Apple."
In expressing what he emphasizes are purely his own opinions, Brimelow writes:

The financial webs site is also predicting that Apple will take a 30% cut of the forecasted $600 million revenues from paid apps in 2010. Last week, in introducing iAd, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said that, today, when users click on mobile ads they are almost always taken out of their app to a web browser, which loads the advertiser’s web page.
Users must then navigate back to their app, and it's often difficult or impossible to return to exactly where they left. Jobs said iAd solves this problem by displaying full-screen video and interactive ad content without ever leaving the app, and letting users return to their app anytime they choose.
He added that iPhone OS 4 lets developers embed iAd opportunities within their apps, and the ads are dynamically and...</div></div></span>

However, even if the wireless carrier offered the Apple device it would be a “mixed blessing” Bank of America analyst David Lynch told investors Monday.
“While clearly accretive to market share in our view, it is not accretive to earnings, even assuming steady pricing, until 2013,” Barden writes.
In other words, although the iPhone would boost Verizon’s market share, it wouldn’t see any money from the deal until another three years, according to a "Cult of Mac" report (http://www.cultofmac.com/analyst-the-iphone-could-hurt-verizon-earnings/...). The iPhone would cost Verizon $3.3 billion in 2011, $4.4 billion in 2012, and $5.2 billion in 2013, according to Barden. Additionally, the iPhone would drag down earnings $0.24 in 2011, $0.02 in 2012, before boosting Verizon’s earnings per share by $0.17 in 2013, he adds.

Wall Street analysts are already slicing their forecasts for Kindle sales, the article adds.
Charlie Wolf, a senior analyst at Needham & Co., has cut his forecast for Kindle sales this year, settling on a range from 2.5 million to three million units, in place of a previous forecast of 3.6 million units. Wolf estimates that Amazon sold 2.2 million Kindles in 2009. "It's not a compelling product," he says of the Kindle, because Apple's iPad offers more features, such as the ability to play video, plus a more compelling design.
Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster cut his 2010 forecast for Kindle sales by 400,000 units, to 3.45 million. Amazon's Kindle DX, which is designed to let users read e-books on a black-and-white screen, is selling for $489, just $10 less than Apple's least-expensive iPad, he notes.

But, even though CMOS technology enables high quality products to be developed at cheaper and cheaper prices, has its own problems. One of the main issues when shooting video on a CMOS camera are rolling shutter artifacts.
When a CMOS sensor records an image, it scans the image from top to bottom, left to right. This scanning action results in a slight lag time between the recording of the top left of the image, to the bottom right of the image, resulting in images with horizontal skew and vertical distortion. It will definitely replace the former. As for my laptop, not quite and not yet.
With the revealing of iPhone OS 4, I think the iPad could do just that before year's end. I say this with a caveat: I'm not a road warrior. I do most of my computing on an iMac and will be using my iPad as a Mac companion/Mac complement. If you do a lot of work -- or heavy duty work -- on your laptop, don't plan on trading your MacBook or MacBook Pro in for an iPad.
As I've said before, the tablet device is a great device for media consumption. As a device for creation and productivity, it has a way to go.
Apple offers iPad versions of its iWork productivity apps: Pages, Keynote and Numbers for $9.99 each. I've only used Pages, so I'll use that as my yardstick for getting work done on the tablet device.
First of all, I simply can't use the...</div></div></span>

Today, when users click on mobile ads they are almost always taken out of their app to a web browser, which loads the advertiser’s web page. Users must then navigate back to their app, and it's often difficult or impossible to return to exactly where they left. Jobs said iAd solves this problem by displaying full-screen video and interactive ad content without ever leaving the app, and letting users return to their app anytime they choose.
He added that iPhone OS 4 lets developers embed iAd opportunities within their apps, and the ads are dynamically and wirelessly delivered to the device. Apple will sell and serve the ads, and developers will receive an industry standard 60% of iAd revenue.
However, Flash ads need not apply. They must be built with HTML. To put it mildly, Jobs is NOT a fan of...</div></div></span>

The study also found that Apple leads the smartphone industry in both mindshare and retention rate. Fifty-six percent of respondents in the Q-Series survey think Apple is the best smartphone manufacturer. According to "AppleInsider" (http://www.appleinsider.com) the implied retention rate among a sample of 310 users is 95 percent. As Um notes, that's well beyond anything else seen ever in the industry.
What's more, 90% of iPhone owners think that Apple is the best handset maker on the market, the analyst adds. When it comes to the iPad, Um is forecasting that Apple will ship 2.1 million in its 2010 fiscal year and 4.6 million in fiscal year 2011.</div></div></span>

Materials for the Apple device include a touchscreen display that costs $95 and a $26.80 processor designed by Apple and manufactured by Samsung Electronics, according to iSuppli. The research group's analysis means that the components of the lowest-priced iPad, which includes 16GB of memory, constitute 52% of its $499 retail price, on par with other Apple products including the iPhone 3GS.
A mid-priced 32 GB version of the iPad that sells for $599 contains $289.10 worth of materials. A high-end 64 GB version, which retails for $699, contains components that cost $348.10, according to iSuppli. Much of the iPad's component costs went toward making the device appealing to use, says iSuppli principal analyst Andrew Rassweiler.</div></div></span>

The new version improves export of InDesign documents to INX file format.
BatchOutput automates InDesign output workflow of printers, ad agencies, service providers and publishing houses. With the software, users can select the files to output and adjust the settings, instead of opening and printing each document manually. For example, BatchOutput can be left to output hundreds of InDesign files overnight, and the completed job can be picked up next morning.
BatchOutput also allows users to output InDesign documents as single pages, update links automatically, and output files invisibly for the user. The software automatically composes complex variable file names. Because BatchOutput can run in the background, it allows users to keep working with other programs during processing....</div></div></span>
