Cronette lets you specify tasks to be launched automatically by the Mac. It can be used on unattended Mac Servers or also on regular Mac workstations for tasks to execute during the night or for recurring tasks to be performed on a regular basis. It provides different type of launch tasks: daily, weekly, monthly, yearly.

With iPad sales expected to hit 28 million in 2011, more than personal computers, consumers are accessing their news direct from their tablets.  What does this mean for the journalism industry.

ComScore lists Apple in second place, as of July, with 10% share of smartphone UK subscribers. Symbian is in first place with 68.8%. When it comes to the top mobile OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) Apple is also in second with 10.2% while Nokia has 65.5%.
However, despite Symbian’s continued growth in number of smartphone subscribers, its market share has fallen as growth in the Apple iOS and Android (Google) platforms has surged in the past year. Smartphone adoption in the EU5 (U.K., France, Germany, Spain, Italy) has grown 41% in the past year to 60.8 million subscribers. Currently, more than one out of every two smartphones is a Nokia manufactured device, although Nokia accounted for more than two out of every three smartphones a year ago.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Francisco filed the protective order Sept. 9, saying discovery in the criminal case may produce documents, tapes, diskettes, hard drives or other media containing material “that is intended to be kept secret and is trade secret information belonging to Apple.”
Devine agreed to procedures about how the data will be handled during pretrial bargaining, without giving up his right to challenge how such information may be used at trial, "Bloomberg" says, noting court documents. He has been accused of trading confidential Apple information in return for more than $1 million in payments, bribes and kickbacks.</div></div></span>

IntelliScanner mini 250e allows educators to build a classroom database of books, movies, and other media items in a simple, easy-to-use interface, according to Paul Scandariato, vice
president of marketing at IntelliScanner Corp. The portable scanner scans the retail barcodes already on the items. Teachers simply plug the scanner in to sync -- just like a digital camera -- and the software will download details like the book title, cover artwork, author, page count, and more.

Six price points have been revealed, and  they are the same as what the iPad has been selling at. The prices band for the iPad ranges from $499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi-only model, to $829 for the 64GB model with 3G.</div></div></span>

This pack provides initial support for HTML5 and CSS3 and extends the scalable vector graphics (SVG) capability in Illustrator on both Mac OS X and Windows.
The HTML5 Pack lets web designers and developers take advantage of the latest advancements in HTML5 through enhanced integration between Illustrator CS5 and Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 software, according to Lea Hickman, senior director, Creative and Interactive Solutions at Adobe. SVG generated by Illustrator can be displayed directly in compatible browsers and Illustrator can be used to generate CSS code for styling of HTML content.

Yosion is the developer of the Apple Peel 520, a wireless device that when used with the iPod Touch functions as a protective skin that adds mobile voice and text messaging capabilities to the touch-screen media player. The new technology represents a more affordable alternative to purchasing Apple’s costlier iPhone, Rohde says.
During an online presentation earlier this month, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said that the company has sold 275 million iPods since the device’s release. He unveiled a new, slimmer version of the touch featuring the same 24-bit Retina display as the company’s iPhone 4 and proclaimed it to be the “number one portable game player in the world.”</div></div></span>

Meanwhile, only 1% of respondents regarded their wedding ring as their most prized possession, while cars were the favorites of only 4% of people on the social network. Dogs got 9% of the vote, and cats received 5%.
 
The survey was carried out in August on behalf of insurance firm Protect Your Bubble (http://www.protectyourbubble.com), with 12% of the 500 respondents voting for their iPods as their most prized possession, just outdoing the Blackberry, which received 11.5% of the votes.

Apple Retail Stores will offer a free Personal Setup service to every customer who buys an iPad at the store, helping them customize their new iPad by setting up their email, loading their favorite apps from the App Store, and more. Apple Retail Stores in China are also hosting special iPad workshops to help customers learn more about the tablet device.

When might such a device arrive? Perhaps in time for holidays, but no later than March 2011, the article says. And the move, if it happens, would be as much about FaceTime as the iPad.
