  1. MACCYCLE 
  2.  
  3. This  version of Maccycle is for use in a Windows based PC. 
  4. It was reauthored at the University of Aberdeen ( Department of Biomedical
  5. Sciences)  using the Windows based authoring package Asymetrix ToolBook. 
  6. The original Apple Macintosh version was authored in Hypercard at the 
  7. University of St. Andrews (School of  Biological and Medical Sciences).

  9. The files needed are archived as .ZIP files in the directory
  10. \public\physiol\macyclew.  You will need to PKUNZIP them after downloading.
  11. Remember to use the BINARY option! 
  12.  
  13. To run this version ( 9d) of Maccycle.tbk requires the updated tbkmm.sbk 
  14. ( 11/03/93, Ver 1.53:04 - a copy can be downloaded from \public\utils\pc)
  15. and associated dll files to operate the avi files. It is also designed to
  16. operate using the following directory structure:

  18. If the directories are not present in your directory tree it is advisable
  19. to create them and transfer the appropriate files to their proper 
  20. directories.

  22. C:\ToolBook\Work  should contain  Maccyc9d.tbk and its associated pif 
  23. files.
  24.  
  25. C:\ToolBook\Work\Images should contain  all BMP images
  26.  
  27. C:\ToolBook\Work\Movies should contain  all the *.AVI files
  28.  
  29. C:\ToolBook\Work\Utl should contain  the Mcychelp.tbk and Essay.wri files

  31. The Tbk files are not password protected so you can alter them to suit 
  32. your own circumstances. All that we ask is you acknowledge any use you 
  33. make of the material and send us any comments, improvements or suggestions.

  35. All the basic material was prepared at St Andrews (School of  Biological 
  36. and Medical Sciences) although we have modified some of the subject 
  37. content to suit our particular use of the teaching material.  You will 
  38. notice the interesting and unconventional use of tbk scripts to control 
  39. the movies. This allows synchronous running of the avi files as well as 
  40. an ability to control the speed of playback.  These scripts are on the 
  41. mainbackground and the movie controls group. If you copy the movie 
  42. control group, ungroup it and look at the play button you will be 
  43. suprised at what tbk will allow (we were!)
