MACCYCLE
This version of Maccycle is for use in a Windows based PC.
It was reauthored at the University of Aberdeen ( Department of Biomedical
Sciences) using the Windows based authoring package Asymetrix ToolBook.
The original Apple Macintosh version was authored in Hypercard at the
University of St. Andrews (School of Biological and Medical Sciences).
The files needed are archived as .ZIP files in the directory
\public\physiol\macyclew. You will need to PKUNZIP them after downloading.
Remember to use the BINARY option!
To run this version ( 9d) of Maccycle.tbk requires the updated tbkmm.sbk
( 11/03/93, Ver 1.53:04 - a copy can be downloaded from \public\utils\pc)
and associated dll files to operate the avi files. It is also designed to
operate using the following directory structure:
If the directories are not present in your directory tree it is advisable
to create them and transfer the appropriate files to their proper
directories.
C:\ToolBook\Work should contain Maccyc9d.tbk and its associated pif
files.
C:\ToolBook\Work\Images should contain all BMP images
C:\ToolBook\Work\Movies should contain all the *.AVI files
C:\ToolBook\Work\Utl should contain the Mcychelp.tbk and Essay.wri files
The Tbk files are not password protected so you can alter them to suit
your own circumstances. All that we ask is you acknowledge any use you
make of the material and send us any comments, improvements or suggestions.
All the basic material was prepared at St Andrews (School of Biological
and Medical Sciences) although we have modified some of the subject
content to suit our particular use of the teaching material. You will
notice the interesting and unconventional use of tbk scripts to control
the movies. This allows synchronous running of the avi files as well as
an ability to control the speed of playback. These scripts are on the
mainbackground and the movie controls group. If you copy the movie
control group, ungroup it and look at the play button you will be
suprised at what tbk will allow (we were!)
