  20.     This is a scaleable computer font designed after the language shown in
  21.     comics published by DC Comics Inc.: "Legion of Super-Heroes" (LSH) and 
  22.     "Legionnaires".

  26. INSTALLATION:

  28.     This is a fully scaleable TrueType fonts for use with Microsoft 
  29.     Windows 3.1 (and higher) or IBM OS/2-2.1 (or higher). Please refer to 
  30.     your Operating System manual for instructions to install this TrueType 
  31.     font. 
  32.     If you need Adobe Type1 PostScript fonts for your computer (as used by 
  33.     IBM, Commodore Amiga and Atari computers) please use the fully 
  34.     scaleable Interlac PostScript Type1 font by the same author.
  35.     If you need an Interlac font for Apple Macintosh computers, please
  36.     use the conversion of my font by Joe Sewell (CompuServe ID:74136,360)
  37.     available in the comic books library of the CompuServe Network 
  38.     (GO COMICS).

  41. HISTORY: 
  42.  
  43.     "The designated language of the United Planets is Interlac, based on 
  44.     the Terran English with liberal additions from other Terran languages. 
  45.     In its most basic form the symbols of the language correspond perfectly 
  46.     to the twenty-six letters of the English language; the numbering system 
  47.     corresponds to Earth Base-Ten form. As the official U.P. language, 
  48.     Interlac is thought in schools throughout the system and is the common 
  49.     form of communication between most sentient United Planet races."

  52.     I made subtle changes to the original designs for esthetical reasons 
  53.     since this language was never really "intended" by the Legion of 
  54.     Super-Heroes artists to be used as computer font.
  55.  
  56.     I wanted to include the monitor board symbols of the Legion members but 
  57.     this was not workable because of the complexity of the signs. But as a
  58.     bonus I have added the symbol of "Superboy" (char.#236), "Lightning Lad" 
  59.     (char.#237), "Cosmic Boy" (char.#238) and "Saturn Girl" (char.#239). 
  60.     On PC's these characters can be accessed via the pressing the "ALT" key 
  61.     and the character numbers on the external numerical pad (MS Windows users
  62.     have to type a "0" before the character number). However, in the PostScript 
  63.     Type1 version of this font I was able to add 25 more Legionnaire monitor 
  64.     board symbols.
  65.     Look for various Public Domain Legionnaire symbols in icon-form by
  66.     other authors for a complete list.

  68.     This is the second time I created an Interlac font because the first
  69.     version (created in August 1993) had "solid" characters (unlike this
  70.     font which is "hollow", just like in the original comic design).

  76.     obligation to remit any fee for its continued use. If you like it, keep it!

  87.     I can not guaranty that these files will work with your computer 
  88.     configuration (although the font worked perfectly on all the computers
  89.     I could get my hand on). 
  90.     However, even if you encounter problems, there is actually no possibility
  91.     that these files could harm your hardware or software in any way! 
  92.     If you don't like the font you can delete it by removing the files anytime
  93.     without difficulties.
