  3. By using the following Windows 3.1 Driver Library
  4. (the "Software"), you are hereby agreeing to the
  5. included license agreement.  Please review the
  6. file LICENSE.TXT.

  8. The PC Speaker driver may not produce high quality
  9. sound on all computer systems.  The performance
  10. of the PC Speaker driver is largely dependent upon
  11. the hardware itself.
  12.  
  13. "Enable interrupts during playback" Setup Option
  14. ------------------------------------------------
  15. By default, the PC Speaker driver disables all 
  16. interrupts while playing sounds for optimal sound 
  17. quality.  As a result, you will noticed that the 
  18. mouse cursor, keyboard or other processes will not 
  19. respond while sounds are being played through the 
  20. PC Speaker.  You can set PC Speaker to enable 
  21. interrupts for serial port activity and mouse 
  22. movements in the PC Speaker setup dialog, at the 
  23. expense of sound quality.

  25. To set this option:
  26.     - Run Control Panel
  27.     - Open the Drivers icon
  28.     - Select the Sound Driver for PC Speaker from
  29.       the list of Installed Drivers
  30.     - Choose Setup
  31.     - Select or clear the Enable interrupts during
  32.       playback check box.

  34. Note: It may be necessary to select option when 
  35. running some communication applications.

  38. Using the PC Speaker driver with AST systems
  39. --------------------------------------------
  40. If you experience problems using the PC Speaker 
  41. driver on an AST system, you should contact AST 
  42. Technical Support at 1-800-727-1278.

  44. Using Media Player with the PC Speaker driver
  45. ---------------------------------------------
  46. The version of Media Player provided with Windows
  47. 3.1 does not play *.WAV files with the PC Speaker
  48. driver.  To play *.WAV files, you should use Sound
  49. Recorder.  Windows 3.1 will install the Sound
  50. Recorder icon in your Accessories Program Manager
  51. group.
