Recommendation U.44
1) Replace Point 2, last sentence, by the following:
"This also applies to the RDI condition, in which case the call will not
be extended to a redirected subscriber."
2) Point 3, "Recommendation E.60" should read
"Recommendation F.60".
3) Point 6, b), "... the calling subscriber commence the..." should
read "... the calling subscriber commences the...".
4) Point 6, c), "... exchange, it if can..." should read
"... exchange, if it can...".
5) Point 11, replace by the following:
"11. Clearing of a broadcast call, in response to the clear signal from the
originating subscriber, shall comply with the relevant U-Series Recommendations.
For new systems, and as far as possible for existing ones, should the
originating subscriber wish to know those parties who cleared prematurely (and,
by implication, those who received the complete message) then this should be
signalled by terminating the transmitted text with the letter shift MMMM. The
originating exchange will then clear forward in the normal way, list those
subscribers, if any, who cleared early to the originating subscriber and clear
backwards.
Note - Application of this procedure to destinations which use code conversion
facilities is a matter for further study."
