  20. Recommendation T.90 defines the functional profile for base standards 
  21. ISO/IEC 7776, 8208 and 8885 to provide the lower layers of the 
  22. telematic services protocol stack when operating on the ISDN.
  23.  
  24. Parameter values are recommended to ensure good throughput when 
  25. operating via long delay connections such as satellite routes. Backward 
  26. compatibility with the Blue Book version has been maintained.
  27.  
  28. Three methods of negotiating the lower layer parameter values have 
  29. been included to satisfy various connection scenarios, e.g. completely 
  30. within the ISDN or between the ISDN and other digital networks.

  32. Recommendation T.90 supplies the network layer definition in 
  33. Recommendation T.70 for telematic terminals but not the transport 
  34. layer definition which is still retained as the telematic transport 
  35. layer definition.
