  20. This is the definition of an ODA document application profile (DAP) 
  21. named PM-11. This profile is suitable for interchanging documents in 
  22. formatted form, processable form or formatted processable form and has 
  23. been defined in accordance with CCITT T.411/ISO 8613-1. The format of 
  24. this profile is in accordance with the standardized proforma and 
  25. notation defined in CCITT T.411/ISO 8613-1, Annex F.

  27. This profile specifies interchange formats for the transfer of 
  28. structured documents between equipment designed for word or document 
  29. processing. Such documents may contain character content.

  31. Recommendation T.502 PM-11 is the replacement of Recommendation T.502 
  32. (1988). The documents that can be interchanged using this profile 
  33. range from memos and letters to simple structured documents. This 
  34. profile provides a comprehensive level of features for the transfer of 
  35. documents between these systems.

  37. This profile allows documents to be interchanged in the following 
  38. forms:

  40.     -   formatted form;
  41.  
  42.     -   processable form;
  43.  
  44.     -   formatted processable form.

  46. The architecture levels defined for these three forms have matching 
  47. functionalities so that the interchange formats of a document are 
  48. convertible from a processable form to any other form.

  50. This profile is independent of the processes carried out in an end 
  51. system to create, edit or reproduce documents. It is also independent 
  52. of the means to transfer documents which for example, may be by means 
  53. of communication links or storage media.
