  20.     MULTI-LEVEL PRECEDENCE AND PREEMPTION (MLPP)

  22. Recommendation Q.85.3 defines the stage 2 for the Multi-Level 
  23. Precedence and Preemption (MLPP) supplementary service of the 
  24. integrated service digital network (ISDN) as provided by public 
  25. telecommunications operators. Stage 2 identifies the functional 
  26. capabilities and the information flows needed to support the service 
  27. description. The stage 2 description also identifies user operations 
  28. not directly associated with a call (see Recommendation I.130).

  30. Recommendation Q.85.3 is defined according to the methodology 
  31. specified in Recommendation Q.65.

  33. Recommendation Q.85.3 does not formally describe the relationship 
  34. between this supplementary service and the basic call but, where 
  35. possible, this information is included for guidance.

  37. In addition, Recommendation Q.85.3 does not specify the requirements 
  38. where the service is provided to the user via a private ISDN. 
  39. Recommendation Q.85.3 does not specify the allocation of defined 
  40. functional entities within a private ISDN; however, it does define 
  41. which functional entities may be allocated to a private ISDN.

  43. Recommendation Q.85.3 does not specify the additional requirements 
  44. where the service is provided to the user via a telecommunication 
  45. network that is not an ISDN.

  48. for the ISDN MLPP supplementary service. The term "stage 3" is defined 
  49. in Recommendation I.130.
