  21. Providers of new and evolving non-voice services are aiming to offer 
  22. communication relations with the international telex service by 
  23. introducing interworking functions. The provision of such interworking 
  24. functions must not reduce the perceived Quality of Service or modify 
  25. the operational procedures of the international telex service. 
  26. Therefore, when defining interworking functions, the general 
  27. characteristics of the international telex service, as well as its 
  28. operational provisions, listed in Recommendations F.59 and F.60, must 
  29. be considered.

  31. Since the specific interworking procedures are defined in detail within 
  32. numerous Recommendations, it seems beneficial to summarize the basic 
  33. requirements for interworking relations between the international 
  34. telex service and other services within one single Recommendation.

  36. Recommendation F.80 defines the basic requirements which should be 
  37. observed when defining interworking relations between the 
  38. international telex service and other services. The aim of 
  39. Recommendation F.80 is to ensure that by implementing such 
  40. interworking relations no negative influences arise for subscribers 
  41. of the international telex service.

  43. Only the perspective of a telex subscriber communicating with terminals 
  44. of another service (via an interworking function) is considered in 
  45. Recommendation F.80.
