The TUTOR is a sophisticated assistant which may help you understand
the game of POKER. This, in turn may help you make better decisions
during your play. As you consult the TUTOR, you may notice you dont
always agree with its suggestions. This is quite normal, since
there are a variety of ways to react to a given situation.
From the MAIN MENU you may set the TUTOR to one of its 3 possible
states by cycling through them using the TUTOR key. These states
are explained on the following screens:

┌─────┐ When the TUTOR is in this state (default), it will be
│ASK │ dormant until you request its assistance by pressing the
└─────┘ TUTOR key on the PLAY MENU. You will be given an
opportunity to do this whenever it's your turn to bet. After
reviewing the TUTOR information, press the SPACE BAR to
clear it, and proceed with your action normally.
┌─────┐ This state activates the TUTOR whenever you take an action
│WARN │ it disagrees with. The message "TUTOR DISAGREES" will be
└─────┘ displayed in the bottom left box of the PLAY SCREEN, and
your action will be disregarded. To proceed with your
action regardless of the TUTOR, simply repeat it. If you
want to check why the TUTOR disagrees, press the TUTOR key
to review its analysis. You may then proceed with its
more... recommended action, or take your own.
┌─────┐ When this state is selected, the TUTOR will automatically
│SHOW │ display its analysis right before your action. To clear the
└─────┘ TUTOR display, press the SPACE BAR and proceed with your
bet.
Please remember the TUTOR can be consulted at any time, regardless
of which of the 3 states you choose, by pressing TUTOR before you
take action.
An explanation of the TUTOR analysis follows...

The TUTOR analyzes the current situation in 6 different ways:
┌─────────────────┬────┐ This indicates where you sit relative to
│ │GOOD│ the strength of your hand. With a weak
│BETTING POSITION ├────┤ hand, it is sometimes better to be first
│ │POOR│ in the betting round (gives you an
└─────────────────┴────┘ opportunity to drive out other weak players
or bluff your way to the pot. With a
hidden strong hand, it is better to be last
in the betting round. This gives you an
opportunity to raise or bet after seeing
the other's actions.

┌─────────────────┬────┐ This indicates whether your down card(s)
│ │GOOD│ are relatively strong against your
│HIDDEN POWER ├────┤ opponents up cards.
│ │POOR│
└─────────────────┴────┘
┌─────────────────┬────┐ The TUTOR calculates the overall odds
│ │%GRN│ of improving your current hand. If the
│IMPROVEMENT ODDS ├────┤ odds are average or better, the percent
│ │%RED│ will be displayed in GREEN color.
└─────────────────┴────┘ Otherwise, a lower than average chance to
improve your hand will be displayed in RED.

┌─────────────────┬────┐ Bluff opportunities are rare. The TUTOR
│ │GOOD│ carefully selects this recommendation
│BLUFF OPPORTUNITY├────┤ when appropriate. Your opponents are
│ │POOR│ excellent players and are hard to bluff
└─────────────────┼────┤ out of a pot. Don't expect them to fold
│BLNK│ just because the TUTOR recommends you
└────┘ attempt a bluff.

┌─────────────────┬────┐ Sandbagging is the art of pretending you
│ │GOOD│ have a weak hand and checking it in hopes
│SANDBAG TRY ├────┤ one of your opponents bets after you. This
│ │POOR│ enables you to raise the bet, thus possibly
└─────────────────┼────┤ increasing the amount of money you may win
│BLNK│ should you have the high hand. The danger
└────┘ in sandbagging is that by checking you take
the chance your opponent may also check,
thus missing an opportunity to get a bigger
pot. Experience shows though, that over a
long session sandbagging is worth more than
the missed betting opportunities would have
netted.

┌─────────────────┬────┐ "BEWARE" is to remind you one of your
│ │BWRE│ opponents has bet or raised in the previous
│OPPONENT ACTIONS ├────┤ betting round of this hand. "DANGER" is a
│ │DNGR│ reminder that an opponent has bet raised
└─────────────────┴────┘ in front of you during the current betting
round.
┌────────────────┬─────┐ Based on the above described analysis, the
│ │BET │ TUTOR will then make its suggestion to you.
│RECOMMENDATION │CHECK│ The TUTOR is not infallible. Its suggestion
│ │CALL │ is just that, and it is still up to you to
└────────────────┤FOLD │ make your own decision. Nevertheless, if
│RAISE│ you follow the TUTOR recommendations, you
└─────┘ might turn out a winner in this game over
end... the long haul.
