  3. Enable the Paragraph Tagging function (second function from the left). 
  4. Tag the paragraph above as a Headline 1. Then tag it as Headline 
  5. 2, and Headline 3.

  7. Tag the next paragraph as a Sub Head 1. Then tag it as a Sub Head 
  8. 2, and Sub Head 3.

  10. Tagging Makes Publishing Easy
  11.  
  12. Each Tag you assign changes the text attributes for the entire paragraph. 
  13. For instance, you can take the following list of features, and tag 
  14. each one with the Bullet Tag. (If you want to tag them all at once, 
  15. press and hold the shift key, then select each paragraph. Release 
  16. the shift key and then select the Bullet Tag).

  24. DTP can print many characters not available to wordprocessor users, 
  25. including:

  27. Greek symbols: (e.g. <F128>p, g, e, m, W<F255>)

  29. Mathematical symbols: (e.g. <F128><133>, <155>, <170><F255>)
  30.  
  31. Typographic symbols: (e.g. <195>, <191>, <169>)
  32.  
  33. Foreign characters: (e.g. <153>, <130>, <156>, <165>)
  34.  
  35. These characters are entered by holding the ALT key and then typing 
  36. the numerical equivalent of the character on the keyboard numeric 
  37. keypad. For instance to type a copyright symbol (<189>), hold the 
  38. ALT key, type 189 and release the ALT key.

  40. Select the Text Editing function (second function from the right), 
  41. and insert a copyright symbol anywhere in this paragraph.

  43. You can force lines to end prematurely, without creating a new paragraph. 
  44. Press and hold the Ctrl key and the press the <<Enter>> key. This creates 
  45. the following effect:

  47. This is a line<R>
  48. but this is another line,<R>
  49. and yet all four lines<R>
  50. are part of the same paragraph.

  52. This is very useful for tables, headings.
  53.  
  54. You can also select text and shift it horizontally to the left. This 
  55. is known as kerning. To see the effects of kerning, select the Paragraph 
  56. Tagging function and tag the following paragraph as a Headline 1.

  60. Simple tables can be quickly formatted using the tab key, and selecting 
  61. a paragraph Tag which sets the tab stops. Tag each paragraph below 
  62. with the Table Tag.

  70. You can automatically number paragraphs in your manual. For instance, 
  71. this style sheet has Auto-Numbering turned on for the Tags called 
  72. Number Head 1, and Number Head 2. Select several paragraphs and tag 
  73. them with Number Head 1 and Number Head 2. Then, select Renumber 
  74. Chapter in the Page Menu. If you later re-Tag these paragraphs, select 
  75. Renumber Chapter to remove the section number.

  77. Paragraph Tag names can be assigned to special function keys. In 
  78. this style sheet, the special function keys are assigned as follows 
  79. (tag each item in the list below as a Bullet in order to make them 
  80. more readable):
