SPYs 386: by Genki Software 05-18-90
- - - - -
----------------------
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS!!!
----------------------
386 (any speed) in Real Mode (no multi-tasking!).
512k FREE memory.
EGA (or better) w/ Hi-Res Color Monitor.
A forgiving attitude (since it sucks!).
Ok, what we have here, the first 386-Only game I've seen. Decent
Hi-Res graphics but STUPID game. There three different "SPY" games to play,
River Raiders - (No, not what you're thinking) - Boat.
Auto Aces - Car.
Jet Jockey - JetPack, the best one by far.

INSTALLATION:
- - - - - - -
Just unzip to any disk/directory. Need about 1.5 megs free (files
compress well). The "INSTALL.EXE" program is used only to copy from
floppies to hard disk.

GAME PLAY:
- - - - -
Beats me! Appears standard. In ALL three games the following
keys help move around and fire:
A - Aim gun left.
S - Fire Gun.
D - Aim Gun right.
F - Forward (shift etc.)
R - Reverse.
Function keys use weapons that you find.

*********************************************************************
** AT OPENING DOC CHECK DO NOT ENTER ANYTHING, JUST HIT RETURN!!! **
*********************************************************************
If you enter something, it'll be compared to NULL and you'll FAIL
the doc check, after two times it's back to DOS. This program was a major
bitch for me to debug. Firstly, for all you assemblers/disassemblers out
there, you world will once again be rocked when you have to read 386
specific instructions! 32 bit registers and compound statements make things
REALLY fun, besides the fact that the game switches from REAL to PROTECTED
mode constantly and everything is controlled by an interpreter like system
and driven by interupts, really weird. Perhaps if I had the dox to TD
it'd be easier. But in the two hours I spent on this I rebooted about 20
times, locked the keyboard controller twice and destroyed my CMOS once!
So I opted for the easy way out, NULLed the doc check answers. Wish I
could do better but don't have that kinda time right now, but do plan on
learning the 386 as I can, awesome.
Greets to THG, NYC & INC?, whoever else. What I really want to know, is
how is it that "PE" in Europe got Microprose's "Railroad Tycoon" before
anyone else in America? Microprose is located just one state from me!
Thanks to Harry Mudd, once again for providing the software (and whoever
helped him).
