  6. ;for TelMerge telecommunications. By editing these, you can

  13. ;     The SYSTEM section governs the default transmission rate, 
  14. ;     communications port, and other settings for your computer 
  15. ;     and modem. TelMerge uses the settings from this section 
  16. ;     unless others are supplied by a SERVICE script or a .TEL 
  17. ;     file.

  19. ;     The MENU section contains the TelMerge Communications Menu--
  20. ;     the menu of services that appears when you start TelMerge.  
  21. ;     You can edit it to list only the services you use.

  23. ;     The SERVICE section contains log-on scripts for each service 
  24. ;     in the Communications Menu (plus any other scripts you wish 
  25. ;     to store there). Before using a service you must add to its 
  26. ;     script the appropriate phone number, user ID code, 
  27. ;     password, or other information. You get this information 
  28. ;     when you sign up with the service.

  30. ;The following is a complete list of keywords that can be used in 
  31. ;the TELMERGE.SYS file. See the TelMerge documentation for

  48. ;The current settings work for most systems.  If the setting for 
  49. ;any keyword here doesn't match your system's requirements, replace

  53. ;particular service requires different settings, specify them

  65. Logging ON      {Opens a logfile as soon as you connect to the remote
  66.                 {service.  Both sides of the session are saved in that file.

  68. Print   YES     {Prints incoming information from a session to your
  69.                 {default printer, alternate printer, or a disk file.
  70.                 {YES prints to your default printer.
  71.                 {NO turns printing off.
  72.                 {COM2 or LPT2 direct printing to a different device.
  73.                 {<filename> prints to a disk file.
  74. LineDelay 2     {Delays specified number of tenths of a second
  75.                 {after sending a line of text.

  97. ;the TelMerge Communications Menu. If you add a service to the 
  98. ;menu, you must also add a control script to the SERVICE section,

  102. ;appear onscreen must begin with the word "Say", and that the 
  103. ;symbol "|" turns onscreen highlighting on or off. The line

  141. ;This section contains log-on scripts for the services on the 
  142. ;Communications Menu. Add the missing information for each service 
  143. ;to the right of its keywords below, delete any scripts you don't 
  144. ;want, or write new scripts of your own. The first script, labeled 
  145. ;"NEW," is a dummy. You can use it as a template for the next 
  146. ;script you write.
  147. ;
  148. ;If you have already created a .TEL file for a service, you can use 
  149. ;WordStar to insert it into this section instead of typing the 
  150. ;script from scratch. Later, you can delete the .TEL file.

  152. ;Whenever you add a script, remember to add its label to the 
  153. ;Communications Menu. You can use a completed script to call a 
  154. ;service, however, even if it isn't on the menu. Simply type its 
  155. ;3-character label at the "Enter your selection:" prompt.

  157. ;You can write scripts to automate much of an online session, for 
  158. ;example, to send or ask for certain information or to make several 
  159. ;calls in succession.  The following keywords are useful for 
  160. ;automating calls (see the "TelMerge" tab section of your manual

  163. ;CALL                Dials the service now.
  164. ;WAIT word           Awaits this word from the service after 
  165. ;                    logging on.
  166. ;SEND word           Sends this word (or words) to the service.
  167. ;PAUSE secs          Waits this number of seconds.
  168. ;QUIET secs          Waits this number of seconds after remote has 
  169. ;                    finished sending.
  170. ;FILESEND filename   Sends the specified file.

  182. ;ANSWERBACK string   Sends your personal ID code in response to a 
  183. ;                    telex WHO ARE YOU request.
  184. ;BAUD rate           Sets the transmission rate for this service.

  187. ;                    internal "phone number" for the service you 
  188. ;                    are calling. Example: HOSTID CPS

  191. ;LABEL string        Characters you will type to start calling this
