Ultima VI Character Editor revision v1.1
It has come to my attention that the editor will sometimes display your
inventory as having all 'unknown' items. This means that the editor could
not find any of your characters' items in 'OBJBLKCC'. The only way to
display your inventory correctly is to go into LB's throne room. If you
save the game there, quit and run the editor, your inventory will display
correctly.
What Ultima VI does is move the inventory list to another file. When I
went south to a river, I saved the game. I then saw my inventory in the
file called 'OBJBLKCD'. I don't know why the program moves it to another
file though. Anyway, to overcome this setback, I have revised the character
editor. You must now type in the inventory file until you see your
inventory show up properly. Keep doing this until you get the correct
filename. So far I've found two filenames. There may be more depending
on where you save your game I guess.
If your inventory is not in 'objblkcc' or 'objblkcd', then you have to
guess which file it's in. To do this, jot down the date and time that
'objlist' was last saved. Compare the date and time to the other files
in your savegame directory. (note, the time may differ by a few minutes)
If you find a match, look at the file size. If the file size is somewhere
between 5,000 - 10,000 bytes long, then that could be a reasonable file to
hold your inventory.
If you still can't find the right file, you can't edit your inventory.
You MUST now go to LB's throne room, save the game and then edit your
characters. You may notice that only some characters have the correct
inventory. You can still edit your stats. At least that hasn't changed.
(whew!)
As a last note, I found out that the runes are hidden at certain locations
and are not the reward after taking over a shrine. Ok, still don't put
a rune in your inventory unless you are absolutely frustrated and can't
get it. The program might have a flag byte of some sort which tells the
program that you haven't found that rune yet, but it's now in your
inventory.
Hopefully this will be the last revision I do. I don't want to release
version 4.0 if you know what I mean.

p.s. while traveling northeast past Iolo's hut, my inventory was stored
in 'objblkbb'.
