Lost Dutchman Mine
A fix for the "Completely Unprotected" game
by
R. Bubba Magillicutty
I thought this thing was protected, but the docs said twice that it
wasn't. After playing it a while, I was unpleasantly surprised by a doc
check that pops up at the river or when you get into a fight with an Indian
or outlaw. A simple fix wasn't good enough. After a short time it would
come up and say "Cheaters never prosper!" and then lock up. At least I got
to do something more interesting than package this thing. You'll notice a
short flicker (the screen will blank and then come back on) when you get to
where the protection used to be, but this is much cleaner than having the box
pop up and having to press enter. Enjoy... (Note: This is not just an
excuse to stick out another set of BBS ads. We really did think there was no
protection. Trust me.)
And now for something completely different:
Our illustrious leader, God's Gift to IBM is back! His board is back up
as well, so give it a call if you used to be on.
