Sample script: Point-&-Dial
_________________________________________________________________________
Point-&-Dial is intended to perform as an auto-dialer for
your phone line. It is designed to work with Hayes, and Hayes
compatible modems, although it could easily be altered to work on
other types of modems (this process not recommended for those with
no programming experience).
When Point-&-Dial is executed it puts Mirror into the
background. You may run other applications (memory permitting),
such as word processing, while it is active. If you position your
cursor at the beginning of a phone number and press ALT-D, Point
and Dial will interrupt your current application in order to dial
the number. Thus, you could create a text file of your favorite
phone numbers and use it as a dialing directory.
In addition, Point-&-Dial provides a pop-up calculator, and
a pop-up ASCII table. Either of these may be invoked from within
another application by pressing their "hot-keys", which are
ALT-C and ALT-A, respectively.
Point-&-Dial also has a menu which appears when you press
ALT-M. The menu has a help option, an option to uninstall Point
and Dial (and MIRROR as well), and a function to prompt you for a
phone number to be dialed. The calculator or the ASCII table may
also be invoked from the menu.
NOTICE: The ASCII.XTS file is not included with the standard
MIRROR III package, but may be downloaded from the
SoftKlone Info Exchange BBS.
Point-&-Dial will detect whether the ASCII.XTS
file or the CALC.XTS file appears on your disk
in the subdirectory where PT&DIAL.XTS is located. If
either of the files are missing when you execute Point-&-Dial,
then Point-&-Dial will work, but the options to use these
features will not appear, nor will they function.
