Introduction
HLS comes preloaded with players and teams from the 1987-1988 NHL
Hockey season and 80 game schedule. HLS allows as many as 48
teams in the League.
Because the purpose of HLS is to keep track of all the games and
statistics for a league over a season BASED ON A SPECIFIED SCHED-
ULE, it is NOT designed for randomly playing One team against
another. Keep in mind that the statistics for any game played
outside the league schedule should NOT be saved to the HLS, since
these statistics have no real meaning.
Menu Operation:
Set options (e.g manual or automatic for auto-play)
Move you to new menus (e.g. head coach, load/save league)
Set options which ten requires selection of another option
(e.g selection a game or a team)
Playing a Game Using the Existing League
In order to create realistic statistical data, league games must
be played in sequence.
Important:Before you use a team data to play a game in WGH, you
must first save the team rosters.
Saving the Game Roster
1. The main Menu: The league is the National Hockey League if
this is the first time HLS is used.
2. Eject the HLS disk and insert a blank disk in floppy drive.
3. Under GAME OPTIONS in the Main Menu , Select save rosters.
4. From the GAME WINDOW, Select the Game you want to Play
5. A DOS Menu is displayed: Select save file and exit to main
menu
Options for Playing a Game
1. You can let HLS compute the results (Auto-play) or you can
import the data into WGH and play the game yourself.
Auto Play
Do not auto- play a game you want to play in WGH.
Playing a Game in WGH
Once you have save roster you must exit HLS by selecting QUIT.
Then load WGH. Once you have loaded WGH you will need to import
the player ratings and team data for the 2 teams.
Import the HOME TEAM data by going to the Home Team Editor and
selecting TEAM DOS. The teams whose roster you saved will ap-
pear.
To import the visiting team data, go into the Visiting Team Editor
and select TEAM DOS.
Once the Home and Vising teams data is loaded play the game
Once the game is over you must save the stats. To do this select
save game results in the End of the Game Menu under For league
Simulator Use.

Commonly Asked Questions:
1. Can I use teams that i made with WGH with HLS?
NO:the HLS uses Teams that can have up to 25 players WGH 20 man
teams.
2. How do I load a team from an NHL data disk into the HLS?
Teams may be loaded into a league from the Team Setup Menu.
Other items.
The Head Coach menu is used to Set up a roster for a game.
The General Manager menu is used to fire coaches, trade players
and move players between the pro and farms, pick up players on
waivers and check finances.
That's it. Kind easy when you have the original docs in front
of you. Now you know who uploaded the HLS to -THG-.
You can reach me at the Midnight Oil BBS 214-681-1455 if you have
any questions. You may need a new fix for WGH because the old
one did not work with this simulator.
