  16. TOXICITY/SIDE EFFECTS: Treatment with ribavirin has been associated with mild anemia, elevated bilirubin, insomnia, headache and irritability.  Crumpacker reports 
  17. that treatment was well tolerated by both AIDS and ARC subjects.  The only significant 
  18. adverse effect reported in AIDS patients treated for 8 weeks was  a decrease in hematocrit, requiring transfusion in 1 of 10 subjects.
