  16. SOMETHING To START WiTH

  18.         BMW has been dead for a month or so, but we are still alive,
  19.         in love and continuing our series of music compos in another
  20.         address (i.e. board, in this case:). The sixth truth-telling
  21.         BMW compo is being organized in Thailand, hope the number of
  22.         participants is once again breath-taking.  It is more than 4
  23.         years from our first music compo, so we should soon have the
  24.         experience needed for organizing a succesfull and n-joyable
  25.         compo.

  35. RULES TO TEASE YOU WiTH (always remember to be tender)

  37.         The Rules Beyond Competitors
  38.  
  39.         *  EVERY PARTICIPANT HAS TO VOTE!                
  40.  
  41.         1. A composer can participate with TWO (2) different modules!   
  42.  
  43.         2. Modules may not exceed 768000 bytes (750kb) uncompressed!
  44.  
  45.         3. Allowed module-formats: MOD, MTM, S3M, ULT, MED, MID and
  46.            XM.
  47.  
  48.            IF YOUR TUNE IS A MID-FILE, THEN..    
  49.            - patches must be included in the archive (if you use other
  50.              than the patches within a normal GUS package)
  51.            - Both the MID-file and the patches (together) must go in
  52.              the 750 kb:s, even if you used GUS patches (remember to 
  53.              check!)
  54.            - You can include own GUS-supporting player in the archive
  55.  
  56.         4. Versions contributing in the compo are also the so called
  57.            release versions. They must contain composers name and 
  58.            other necessary information about him/her. (to affect the
  59.            vote).
  60.  
  61.         5. You must create a FILE_ID.DIZ and put it in the archive, 
  62.            too. Remember to include a text informing that the module
  63.            is for the BMW MC 6, in the FILE_ID.DIZ.
  64.  
  65.            Of course you may release fixed etc. versions after the 
  66.            results have been published.
  67.  
  68.         6. Modules may not be released before (not even in a demo,
  69.            intro or something else).
  70.  
  71.         7. Song duration is not limited. You may compose a n+1 hour
  72.            masterpiece, if you wish.
  73.  
  74.         8. You are allowed to use ripped samples (i.e. samples taken
  75.            from other composers' modules), since you'd use them 
  76.            anyway, even if it was prohibited. Just remember to credit
  77.            the ones behind the samples.

  79.         9. Rough language in lyrics (if any) _IS_ still ALLOWED.

  81.        1o. Tunes may naturally represent any style!

  89.         All rights to disqualify anyone for breaking rules or for some 
  90.         other mis-use etc. are reserved.  REMEMBER TO VOTE IF YOU TAKE
  91.         PART IN THE COMPO - or you cannot win.

  96.         FiRST OF ALL - DO IT NOW, THERE'S NEVER TOO MUCH TIME!

  98.         1) Compose your module/modules and create archives with all the
  99.            necessary files included (module, FILE_ID.DIZ etc.)
  100.         
  101.         2) Upload your contributions to THAiLAND 
  102.            (information at the end of this file)
  103.  
  104.         3) Leave SysOp a message in which you write that you sent a
  105.            song for the compo. Include the name of the song (archive)
  106.            and other usable info.

  108.         4) To be fair, EVERY participant must vote!
  109.

  111. VOTING (preliminary info)
  112.  
  113.            The final vote-info and vote-sheet shall be released on the   
  114.            deadline date. All users of THAiLAND have the right to vote
  115.            with an exception, all contributors MUST vote. Contribution
  116.            songs can be downloaded one by one right after they arrive!

  119. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU (don't waste your time dreaming =)
  120.  
  121.         Once again we are able to offer you ALSO some _modest_ prizes.
  122.         The budget for the compo is _ 0 _ FIM, so the prizes are going 
  123.         to be  from my own collection of used ('n washed) records. For
  124.         the two best we're going to give CD/vinyl recordings. The rest
  125.         (i.e. position 3 + n+1 winners) we can only offer the pain and
  126.         shame of not becoming first or second. In addition, the winner
  127.         will get A LOT (?-) of fame!

  129.         BUT IT'S NOT THE PRIZES THAT ARE IMPORTANT, IS IT? :)
